Been there, done that...got the t-shirt.

Okay..I just got back from Lunch and am glad all of you that tuned into this little competition enjoyed the updates. I got a few after the event statements from each player, though I won't dare put them in quotes :D

Mark said that Lindsay was a very competitive player, fun to shoot against and didn't even use the threat of the skirt against him during the round.

Now here is where it gets wierd.

Lindsay said that Mark was also very fun to play with, very sportmanlike, but also said he was hitting alot of long putt. Now all of us that know Mark have to be shaking our heads on that one. Mark hitting long putts or hitting them in general seems to be a stretch.

Okay..so here is my theory. Mark had never met Lindsay in person before, so he and Gary Duke switched who they were and Gary whooped her :D

Lindsay said they were all off to Applebee's so she could buy the lunch for the defeat.

Friends, Romans, Countrymen, lend me your monitors.

I am smack dab in the middle of one of the nicest cities and some of the best courses I have ever seen.

Without further ado, let me get down to the business of how a middle of the pack Am player (at best) avoided a fashion faux paux that he found too difficult to even think about.

I FEARED THE SKIRT! Thankfully I didn't see it until after the match or I may have been shaken a bit. It was Gawdawful. Short, pastel pink and ruffly. NFW I was gonna wear that. I came in to Des Moines, went to bed early, ate well, didn't imbibe CFO's and warmed up correctly this morning. I was afraid of the skirt, no doubt about it. :)

Lindsay was great, and I enjoyed playing with her. She's been here since Tuesday with Nature Boy practicing and walking courses, and I think she kind of wore down sooner than she'd have liked. I don't think either of us expected it to be 14 strokes at the end.

A great round with a great girl and great company from Gary Duke, NB and Doc Gordon as well. I even had Atwoods Angel's (Himing, Nelson, Rotan) there to cheer me on for a while. :)

As I come to you for the 6,000th time from the site of the 2004 PDGA World Championships it occurs to me that I may indeed not have a life as many of you have suggested. However, meeting some of the folks who until now have only been words on a screen, seeing the courses for Worlds, playing golf in the biggest gathering of disc golfers ever and trying to think of what to say to sum up my feelings about it all in #6k, this is what I've come up with.

I do have a life. I have a pretty freakin good life. Thanks to all of my friends and here's to my new ones. Have fun and good luck in Iowa. :)

Bedtime now, I have some golf to play tomorrow. ;)

Girlie, that was some great fun and I actually played halfway well. I think your legion of fans was expecting the typical B&FP Mark to show up and he didn't. In fact, I was so afraid of the skirt, that I passed on an opportunity to play Waterworks in KC the day before just so I could get to Ewing before dark, walk the course and get some sleep. :)

BTW, there was no OMB division, so wherever I played it wouldn't be with my own peeps. I went out there to work on my game, not win anything.

Despite my horrible scores playing Open, I actually did some good things and didn't play all that bad, except for a few really bad shots and a couple of really bad holes. I'll be staying in OMB for the forseeable future. ;)
