The Father of Mooney Suzuki guitarist Graham Tyler passed to Cancer recently, so there's going to be no second European, nor first North American tour for 2005

I heard that news and rejoiced. (My wife and I had Pink Floyd playing as the dinner music at our wedding reception.) They have the best live shows with THE best sound. Only concert I ever attended at Jack Murphy Stadium that sounded better than "total crap" was Pink Floyd on the Division Bell tour, and it sounded incredibly awesome.

I love Queens of the Stone Age, they rock live.I live Drowning Pool, but prefer their original singer.
Lately been listening to Hinder, from Oklahoma, new song, "Go Home and Get Stoned", you've heard it....
New record by Roadrunner Records is the best this year!!! The concept was to celebrate their 25 anniversary with a special album. They took four of their top album producers, Joey from Slipknot being one, Dino Cazares and a couple others and they hand picked members from other roadrunner bands and each group did three or four songs. TALK ABOUT ROCK!!! The album is called Roadrunner United.
Nickleback was okay last week when they came to Corpus, but Chevelle was awesome, espeically for a 3 man band.
Gotta love System of a Down, Slipknot and Mudvayne!!

If anyone is down for a great (but possibly separate) family/DG extravaganza...check this out!

Wakarusa (http://www.Wakarusa.com) MusicFestival, June 8, 9, 10 & 11, is the same weekend as the KC Wide Open - June 9-11, and just 40-45 miles West of KC in Lawrence, Kansas! Bring the family to a well run 4-day MusicFestival that is capped at 15,000 people...and head East to KC for the 24th Annual KCWO!! Camp at the festival OR secure a local hotel room... Get your tickets ASAP, as the prices tend to go up as the Festival approaches.

Check out the musical lineup at the link above...!:cool:

There will be DG on site at the MusicFest - at a permanent 18 hole DG course across from the street from the Festival grounds at Clinton Lake State Park...and there are 2 other permanent 18 hole courses in Lawrence w/in 10-15 minutes.

If you have any questions...ask away, or PM me...

Awwww Maaannnnnnn, I'm jealous. Saw them "accidentally" once at Chastain Park in Atlanta when they were opening for Jonny Lang. It was a surprise visit arranged by my brother in law's significant other who answered my "who's opening" question with "somebody I never heard of". Imagine my excitement when we walked in the gate and the first thing I saw was an Indigenous merch booth. I told my brother in law no matter how much he liked Lang he was going to be blown away by the opener. BUT they almost never play outside the midwest. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh......

I've not heard the new CD... He's tapped into the SRV/KWS/JL formula...and as an artisan needs to explore... He is a Strat-shredding showman with a cool, smooth voice! "Hold on...just let go..."

Isn't that Mato's sister on drums? ~> When the 'other' drummer (male) is on the congoes/bongoes...WITH the drum-sticks...they are LIGHTS-OUT!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool:WOW!!!!! They're a 'smaller venue' type-of-band, IMHO.

riverdog
Sep 21 2006, 04:16 PM
Doc, you'd have loved hearing them at Chastain too, even though it's probably considered a medium venue. Old, old Buckhead community of Hot'lanta with an open fronted, covered stage opening onto a natural bowl covered with 50's vintage concrete terraces, whole thing surrounded by massive tall yellow pines, sets start just at dark, best sound of any outdoor venue I've ever heard. You can brown bag, even to the point of your brown bag being a large wheeled cooler. Regulars will even bring in multi-course meals, plus the "patron" seats down front come with tables which are frequently covered with candelabra's and catered gourmet meals. Then up in the "rabble" terrace seats you have festival blankets and coolers and absolutely everyone is having a large time. Unique place.......

Yup, I had not heard about the CD either but turned it up on a quick search after seeing the thread jogged them into my memory again.

Sounds like a heckuva classic venue there at Chastain!!!

Having seen Indigenous at 3 outdoor music festivals (played during the day and night) I've most enjoyed them in the smaller clubs where they connect with the audience more and they just flat out JAM while feeding off the crowd!
I MUST repeat this: If anyone out there has not seen them with the 'other' drummer playing the congoes with drumsticks...this adds a WHOLE lot more intensity!!!! :cool:The last few shows I've seen have not had this going on...WTF!?
