I'd like to announce that the name of the Lago Vista 2-day event on Memorial Day Weekend, May 29-30, originally scheduled as a part of our Evolution Series and named the Lago Vista Open, will now and hereafter be known as the Tony Ware "Flying Solo" Memorial.

Tony Ware, brother of Chris Ware, as many of you now know, passed away last Saturday at the age of 47. Tony, who's nickname was Solo, leaves behind many family members and friends, including many disc golf friends and most importantly, an 8 yr. old son, Anthony Chance Ware. For this event, rather than collecting for the LAF charity as all HCF events have done in the past (and will continue to do with this exception), the $2 per player (plus other monies donated) will be placed annually into a fund for Chance, that will be turned over to him when he turns 18.

Chris is a friend of mine and a great guy. He has been a great supporter of Disc Golf in Texas. We all have Solo, PDGA #5500, to thank for that. It was Solo's passion for the game and his encouragement that led to our friend "Seewhere" becoming the force for DG in Texas that he is.

More details about this event and the particulars regarding format, sponsors, etc. will be forthcoming very soon. It is my sincerest hope that you all try to put this one one on your schedules and come out to enjoy one of the most fun courses in Texas while supporting a very worthy fund raising effort.

Mark, as much I enjoy picking on you, this has to be one of the greatest things ANYONE could ever do to help out a child. I'm really sorry to hear about your loss Chris, hope that you and your family are doing well. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help out(either one of you).

Allow me start the donations with $100.00 in the name of the LSDGA. I am sorry that I never got to meet Tony, after all that I am hearing about him now. Chris, my prayers are with you and your families. It's not easy losing a brother so young and you never quite get used to it.

THANKS again to ALL!! I have sent this link to my parents and they send their thank you's as well. My Dad even said he wants to come out and watch some of event that weekend. I have asked my sisters to set-up an account for my nephew so we can make deposits for him. when I have this info I will pass it on. THANKS AGAIN TO MARK FOR THIS IDEA THIS IS VERY SPECIAL FOR MY FAMILY!!!

Feb 25 2004, 12:31 PM
Thanks guys. I'm glad to see that this idea rings true to y'all the way it spoke to me. Gary and I were kicking around names for the event yesterday (since Lago Vista Open is kinda boring) and naming it around something to do with Solo came out of that conversation. The more it rattled around in my head all day, the more I realized that we had an opportunity to do something really special here, in addition to having just another great disc golf tournament. Its good to hear that this sentiment seems like it will get plenty of support.

As of now, I'm thinking that this should be a C-tier, PDGA sanctioned event (if I can convince the powers that be that I'm actually not the PDGA anti-christ and get sanctioning :) ), and that should help inspire travelling players who want those PDGA points and ratings credits.

Another idea I had this morning should help a bit also. Every event has an Ace Pot. The Flying Solo Memorial will also have a "Chance Pot," so named for Solo's son. I'm going to ask that anyone who has prizes of any sort (dg merchandise or anything cool) get it together and donate it for the Chance Pot. What we'll do, is offer CTP throws for the prizes that we get donated. $5 will buy you three throws per person. Each person will only be able to count their closest and best throw. After everyone who wants to participate has thrown, the top five closest throwers will have their names put in a hat and drawn out for a share of our donated prizes. 100% of the money raised by this CTP game will be added to the total raised for Chance each year at this event. So, if you've got a stack of plastic that you can part with, gift certificates for hotels, meals, etc., shirts/hats, or anything that you think might be a fun prize (dg related or not) let's throw it in to the Chance Pot and get a lot of participation on that.

More event details coming soon, so as usual, STAY TUNED... :D

Chris, I'm very sorry to hear about Solo! I remember him from long long ago, and he spent plenty of time as a part of the local disc golf scene. I had no idea we had him to thank for getting you into it.

Way to go Mark!!! This is a great thing to do. It is always wonderful to see the golfers come together when one of our own needs help (like the Boogie Otero fundraiser and the recently held fundraiser for Jimbo Slusher in Houston).

I'm sure you can count on the Waterloo Club for some sponsorhip support. I'll bet that lots of folks will be coming out to help in one way or another. Good luck with everything.

This really choked me up. I am proud to be associated with a man who would do this for a great family. If I win anything I will gladly donate it to the wonderful cause. Again this is a spectacular thing and all of us disc golfers should do what we can to help the little guy out. I would hope somebody would do the same thing if something like that happened to my family. Do it for Chance! I am sure Team Evolution will also be putting something together for the cause. See karma is real!

Feb 25 2004, 04:37 PM
See karma is real!

Told ya! :)

Thanks Danielle, for your donation offer. And yes, I feel pretty certain that Team Evolution will be able to help out.

If there's anyone who would like to talk to me about this event, donations, or anything else regarding the fund or the tournament, feel free to not only post your comments here (let's do keep this thread a'hopping) but you can also email me at mark@hillcountryflyers.com or gimme a holler at 830-385-9682.

I've been getting tons of positive calls, emails, pm's and posts about this event. Thank you all for what looks like is gonna be outstanding support.

Oh, and Jason, this doesn't mean you have to stop giving me a hard time. I'd think you didn't love me anymore if you were nice to me all the time. :)

Feb 25 2004, 08:01 PM
Well, things are already happening. We've already had lots of donation offers of both cash and prizes for the "Chance Pot." The first offer of cash was made by Gary Duke, in the name of the Lone Star Disc Golf Alliance. I have decided to match this $100 donation in the name of Hill Country Flyers.

Further, I have decided to offer anyone who matches Gary's offer, 2 Flying Solo Memorial tournament stamped discs of their choice (not sure what we'll have yet, but they'll be cool) and a few other as yet to be determined goodies. So, step up and let's make this donation make a difference. The opportunity to come together and do some good that directly touches disc golf family members is really exciting.

As for the event itself, if you haven't ever played Lago Vista, you're missing one of the most fun courses in the Texas Hill Country.

I'll know about sanctioning soon and I'll post that info here. The field size will be determined by whether or not I'm able to set up a temp course. I'm working on some of those details this week and I'll keep everyone up to speed on it as things develop.

Mark, what a great gesture you are doing and I know Tony has a huge smile on his face looking back down here now. Go ahead and sign me up now (open) because I'm pretty sure this one is going to fill (1 or 2 courses doesn't matter). Tony had a lot more friends than even he realized and everyone will try to support this for his son.

As for a raffle, like all HCF events, there will be our popular Raffle O' Wonder, for $1 ticket. This is something we always do to help offset tournament expenses. I want to be darned sure that the main focus for this event is on the Fund and the money we raise and why we're raising it, but if some of you happen to have some stuff that we could throw into our $1 raffle to help out, its always appreciated.

For those of you who want to make donations to the fund, its being set up today and I should know later today what to make checks out to. I'll keep everyone up to speed as info becomes available.

I am proud to be a disc golfer, and to be able to call so many of you my friends.

That's a big part of what this is all about Josh. I really liked Solo when I got to meet him and C-dub is certainly one of my favorite DG people, period, but there was also a time quite recently, when I went through some of the darkest days I've ever had.

There were an awful lot of members of the disc golf family (you among them) that rallied around me in a way that made me feel like things weren't so overwhelming and I wasn't so alone. Folks that only know me from here or on the course, would call to check on me and make sure I was okay, ask if I needed anything or any help with my daughter, come around with dinner and/or a cold one, drag me out to the course for a round when I didn't feel like playing and just generally kept me from self destructing during a time when things were pretty dicey for me.

This is the greatest "community" of people I've ever had the pleasure of being associated with. What goes around, really does come around. Any time any of us have a chance to strengthen our little family and hold each other up, it makes us stronger as whole.

Karma is real!

Not entirely unexpected, but awe inspiring nonetheless.

Feb 26 2004, 03:53 PM
Yes Gary, it is awesome.

I talked earlier with Solo's sister, and we should have some info about the fund for Chance very soon.

I also got an email from his brother Mike with some photos of Tony and Chance. If any of you have other pics or Solo stories to share, please send them to mark@hillcountryflyers.com so that I can include them in a little thing I'd like to put together. (BTW, Mike's got a username for the board now, let's see if we can draw him out. :) )

Efrain, your pledge has been noted and added to the list. Email me and I'll reply with a mailing addy. Thank you so much for your support!

BTW, for those of you who don't know (and since he's way too modest to ever mention it) it was Gary who planted the spark in my head for this idea when we were talking about what to call the event. A big thanks, my friend.

Okay boys and girls, here's the info for the Anthony Chance Ware Education Fund.

Please make checks payable to:
LuAnn Ware Patrick
and write ACWEF in the memo space

LuAnn has also put herself in for $100 in the Matching Donations.

Get those checkbooks out. Its time to make this happen.

You can either give checks or cash for the fund to me or Chris, when you see us out and about, and we will get it where it needs to go, or send them to:

LuAnn Ware Patrick
4505 Tejas Trail
Austin, TX 78745

Either way, young Chance will get it.

Keep those vibes comin'. :)

We are definitely gonna be a sanctioned C-tier now. I spoke to the PDGA and the State Coordinator today and that's a go.

Chris and I talked about the good that could come out of a painful situation. We get the pleasure of helping a little boy who is going to need a lot of help. Chris is a better person, he gave me a Bud Light the other day and he didn't even get mad when I stole another out of his fridge while he wasn't home. :D Heck he might not even add those to my tab! the following post is from my sister. She accidentally started a new thread when she meant to post on this one. thanks;

The sport of disc golf was a large part of my brother's life. I am overwhelmed with the support that this event is already receiving in such a short time. My brother's last wish during his final confession was that God protect and care for his son, Chance. I promised my brother that I would provide for his college education as he has been identified gifted in school. I had no idea how I would do that but I left it in God's hands. Thank you Mark and all of the disc golf community for being a part of making Tony's last wish a reality. I will be throwing my first round of golf at this tournament so please be patient and agile. Tony loved this sport and the time spent with everyone, especially with Chris and Mike.

Great Chris (and Carol and Homebrew!), thanks for the update. :)

I'll make an update to my lists tonight and post them, either before I hit the sack or over java in the a.m.. :)

While I was at the Lake yesterday with about 200 Tejas and Okie disc golfers, friends and family enjoying the kickoff to another great year of ZLT10, I had the opportunity to visit with Tony and Kat Bender. I don't know if its because they are such great people, or because I laugh at all of Tony's jokes, but for whatever reason they handed me their donations for this event.

Their matching $100 donation will be on its way to LuAnn in the morning courtesy of the U.S. Mail. Along with that was a stack of some super suhweeeeeet plastic (around $130 value) for the Chance Pot, Silent Auction, etc.

Next time you see one of these great folks out on the course, tell 'em how much you appreciate that we have people like them playing our sport. :)

I have been talking with Gary Priest at www.AceRun.com (http://www.AceRun.com) about donating some shirts for raffle or the Chance Off. I am hoping to tie dye some of these. If I can get some tournament shirts a few days before the tourney I can tie dye them also.
Good Karma all around! :cool:JP

Awesome JP! Have Gary come out and talk to me Sunday at Lago and we can discuss a few things.

For those of you who are fired up about this event (which not only is going to help out the child of a friend of DG, but is also gonna be a rocking tournament), come out on Sunday for the HCF 1st Sunday Monthly Mini and get in some practice at this great course. If you're not playing the Waco NT or Texas State AM Dubs, you've got no excuse! :)

Lago is an awesome course and this is gonna be a great event. Start practicing now! :)

Wrong, sort of. :) Sunday is Lago, but we're trying to tee off these days by 9:30, so be there plenty earlier than that to sign up. You know, one of these days people are gonna read my informative posts, not just the funny ones. :)

BTW, Efrain, go check out the Lago Vista (http://www.pdga.com/msgboard/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=148952&Main=5034#Post148952)
and Burnet Course Events and News (http://www.pdga.com/msgboard/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=148892&Main=123347#Post148892) threads for our entire '04 mini schedule. Thanks for your committment to this event!

Mar 10 2004, 10:52 AM
BTW, I will be gathering donations for the matching cash fund as well as merchandise for the Chance Pot and Silent Auction at the Burnet Mini on Saturday.

We had great interest and support for this tourney and cause out at Lago on Sunday and I'll be updating our donations spreadsheet momentarily as I down my coffee and get going this morning. :)

C-dub, there are probably more cash donations received than I have listed. Find out and email me if some of the ones listed as not received are in fact in and I'll make the update. If they go straight to LuAnn (as they probably should) I really don't always know about it. The cash donations for HCF, Gary Duke, The Quattlebaum's and Jack Moore are with me. I'll send 'em to LuAnn or if I haven't done that by next time I see you, I'll hand them to you. Either way, no worries.

I'll have some updated info on other sponsors very soon and will be hard at work on all this from now until the event.

I've had several players ask me about added money to the payout for this event. I've always had added money of some dollar amount to every one of my tourneys, even if it has come out of my own pocket. Its hard to ask sponsors for added money for payout for this one, however, because what I'm really focusing on is the money for Chance's education. I do think added money to the payout is important though, and I'm willing to put $100 of my own, in the name of the Members of Team Evolution into the payout pot, and accept any support anyone wants to give that is earmarked for added payout.

Last thing, please send artwork ideas to me via email. I have several of my own and what we end up with could be mine, someone else's or a combination of good ideas. Credit will be given where due of course . :)

Is there camping at or near Lago?

Pace Bend Park (http://www.co.travis.tx.us/tnr/parks/pace_bend.asp) is only 1.6 miles from the course in Lago Vistaas the crow flies. But youll need a boat to get there. Otherwise, its a 57 mile drive around the lake to get there.

Arkansas Bend Park (http://www.co.travis.tx.us/tnr/parks/arkansas_bend.asp) is only 6.7 miles from the course, is right on the lake, and allows camping ($15/vehicle/night)

Description
One of the most isolated and untouched parks in Travis County, this peaceful 323-acre park lies on the north shore of Lake Travis near the community of Lago Vista and combines many of the best qualities of other Lake Travis parks. The parks' two miles of shoreline offer opportunities for hiking, fishing, camping, picnicking and lake access via an excellent boat ramp. Several inviting, shaded picnic and camping areas are situated along a bluff above a gently sloping, rocky waterfront.

Apr 21 2004, 11:20 PM
NEWS:

Just wanted to let everyone know. We finally were able to have some discussions with the restuarant that is on the actual grounds of the resort where the course is located, Cabo Loco. These guys have been on board with us and with our minis since they opened, its just been a bit difficult getting to speak with the folks who pull the trigger on the decisions.

I'm happy to report that they are in fact still on board with DG in a big way.

They have offered to do burgers, fries and a drink for lunch for both days for $5/plate. These are some great burgers, as anyone who's eaten there after our popular monthly minis will attest.

And in my best infomercial voice, "But wait, there's more." :) They have also pledged to add $150 to the Anthony Chance Ware Education Fund, AND $150 to be added to our payout. Please, Central Texas golfers, when you come out to practice the course at the May 2nd HCF Monthly Mini, make the short walk across the parking lot from #2's teebox to this new restaurant and tell them how much you appreciate their support of our cause and our sport. While you're there, have a burger. :)

Also, be sure to save a few pennies so that you can get one of the most highly touted discs to hit the market recently, the Discraft Flash! We will have Flashes with the inaugural Flying Solo Memorial stamp.

More news will be coming down within the next week. Please keep an eye on this thread and make your plans now to attend this awesome event and support this great charity. I need to update the pledge list of money raised for Chance's education to this point, but let me say that if we keep going at this rate for the next 10 years, this young man, who lost his father at age 8, will be able to attend any college he wants to. The fund is already very healthy, and we have yet to figure in either entry fees (other than a few) or the Chance Pot. Thank you to all those who have already made this a successful event more than a month before we tee off. You guys and girls (yes, we already have some gals signed up) are the greatest!

Early signups are being taken at titleDISC.com. Please register early, as we are sure to have a big turnout.

There's a lot more info on the way, so as usual...STAY TUNED! :D

Mark bring out entry forms to Lago and we can leave some at Casa Lago and Cabo Loco.

Apr 22 2004, 10:24 AM
Will do, JP.

And for those who haven't heard, Eddie's back! Some of you may not have been to an HCF Lago Vista 1st Sunday in a while. You probably remember Eddie's Restaurant a couple of blocks up the street, where the winners of each division we had that day were awarded a free breakfast buffet. Well, Eddie is back and is working with Cabo Loco, and has all his breakfast bar stuff up and running in the main room. He has told me that he will once again be giving away free trips through cholesterol heaven to our monthly division winners. I highly recommend the corned beef hash, but its all good. :)

So, come out on May 2nd, get in some practice for Flying Solo, win a free meal and get ready for the tourney. :)

Rocco, I'm still unsure on the Spring Fling. I have an HCF Big B Monthly on that Saturday. I'm trying to get one of the Rec Center guys to run it, since I don't want to miss it, but its still up in the air. I'll have forms with me for the credit/check card impaired at 1st Sunday.

Also, the day before 1st Sunday is the ZLT10 in Live Oak. I don't want to hear any excuses. I'll be playing and staffing on Saturday for Chris' event, and then at Lago on Sunday. :)

LV Resort Course maintenance news. With all of the Spring rains everything is growing real fast. Our riding mower is repaired and running. We will be working the week and weekends of May 15th thru 23rd mowing, weedeating, cleaning, and grooming the course for the Flying Solo Memorial. This means we will schedule a work day and be asking for volenteers to help. Probably Sunday May 23rd to not conflict with COTO and TX 10. I know we can count on ROUND ROCK and others to come together for the cause. :D
As fast as things are growing and due to the man hours to groom the course little will be done until then. That means it will not be in the best of shape for the May 2nd HCF mini.

Sounds Good!
I will inspect the course this weekend and I'll post. I know the approach area on # 14 at the bottom of the hill always grows beyond control and it is to rough for a riding mower. The shic weeds on the hump and on the right side on # 13 are real bad. Push mowers and weed eaters will be needed. Those are the areas that need the most work now.

May 04 2004, 10:36 AM
Okay, the paper entry forms are circulating via C-dub, Jon P. and myself. If you need one via email, drop me a line at mark@hillcountryflyers.com.

If you really, really, really, wanna make me happy, go to titleDISC.com today and sign up. Pre-reg has been a little slow. I understand that all of my Lago events seem to have a comfortable and informal air to them, but please realize this is a sanctioned PDGA event. As such, you need to get signed up. Day-of sign ups will be a pain, and I'm considering not doing them at all. Spread that word to your buds.

Artwork should finally be done today, after many revisions ( :D) and more news about the temp 18 is forthcoming.

Regarding that, let's get a running count of baskets we have available for the back 18. Lets also try to make them double chains and solid baskets wherever possible.

C-dub - 2
Vinnie - 1

Heating up the phone lines today, so, as usual...STAY TUNED! :D

May 04 2004, 01:14 PM
Gary, I've never played in any of my 2-day PDGA's before. I'm usually too busy making sure everyone else has a good time.

However, because I love this course so much and would cry if I missed this event as a player, I'm thinking about it.

Don't know if it'll be MA1 or MM1 though. We'll wait and see. :)

I'd enjoy being on your card anytime, especially in the later rounds. :)

No problem Jerry, I just had to pull your string because I know how much you like our course.

May 05 2004, 06:19 PM
Mike, as much as you've read this board, you should know better than to yank the chain of Brutha Chile. It yanks back! :)

I was out at Lago today, and took advantage of some extra time to run around in the back and get a feel for the layout of the temp holes. I can say this. We hope to use the original 3 placements from old #1, 2 and 3, as well as some of the holes Chris and I laid out for the ZT10 last year. Some of last year's temp holes will have to be altered somewhat, though, since the water is MUCH higher than it was last year.

I'll keep everyone updated. This is gonna be done soon and I promise to do my best to give you guys some great fun holes to play back there.

All signed up on TitleDisc.

Victoria was my favorite tournament of the year, living up to all the hype. And then I played the inagural Gonzalez Open...an instant classic and the most fun I've had at a tournament in a long time. And then there was Worlds Doubles in San Saba...the most mentally and physically challenged I've ever been playing disc golf.

And I can't forget about this weekend's COTO on my home course...

But with all the great tournaments to look forward to this year, none compares to the anticipation of playing in the Flying Solo Memorial. Great course. Great people. Great cause.

We had the Lago Dragon, riding mower, running for about an hour and it quit. We think it is a fuel problem and hopefully won't cost a lot to fix, but we don't have much time. There has been about 3 hours so far mowing and an hour weed eating. It looks better but needs a lot more. Workers needed to come out and help to make this a better tourney experience. You can come out on your own, email me at JP@NorthShoreDiscGolf.com for the areas that most need work, or on the clean up day Saturday May 22nd. More deatils later. JP

scoop
May 13 2004, 09:28 PM
It's a C-tier, isn't it? If so there may not be a player's pack (at least one's not required).

May 13 2004, 10:30 PM
Danny, there are many reasons why you will never see that stamp on a Roc, which I won't go into here, but suffice it to say that I think most folks would rather see a great full color stamp like that on nicer X or Z type plastic than the DX, which is all Innova will color stamp for tournies. Quality, young man. :)

Gary, I too would've liked to have seen it on some Flashes. Unfortunately, those discs are not quite available for custom stamping yet. They should be soon, and certainly in time for our Cold Turkey Classic in November.

Rocco and Rooster, this is indeed a C-tier and there is no required player's pack. As with all 5 of my B-tiers last year, I will strive to have a lil' sumpin' sumpin' to give my players, whether its required or not, but I don't like to take player's pack value out of anything else. I will always try to have donated stuff to give away, but I just don't like robbing Peter to pay Paul. That's one reason I'll be sanctioning my events as C-tiers this year. The entry fees and payouts will be identical to my B-tiers last year, the only difference is the slightly lower accumulation of PDGA points. I guess we'll see how much of a difference points makes to our players, since that's the only change from last year's HCF events. :)

As to Rocco's question about pricing, with all Discraft color stamped merchandise, they cost $2 more than the stock or regular hotstamped plastic.

Pace Bend Park is only 1.6 miles from the course in Lago Vistaas the crow flies. But youll need a boat to get there. Otherwise, its a 57 mile drive around the lake to get there.

Arkansas Bend Park is only 6.7 miles from the course, is right on the lake, and allows camping ($15/vehicle/night)

May 17 2004, 09:41 PM
Okay folks, a couple of announcements.

First, we've had a slight format change. For a couple of reasons, one being slower than anticipated pre-registrations during this, the busiest part of the DG tourney season in Texas, and certain land issues beyond our control, we've had to make a change in the format. I hope and believe, this is a change everyone will be happy with.

We will be setting up the original 3 holes behind the resort that none of us have been able to play in a long time. Even during last year's ZT10, the original first 3 were not available. I think players who have long said they miss these great holes (original #1, #2 and the awesome #3) will really enjoy getting a chance to play them again and for the first time ever in sanctioned competition.

Rather than having a full temp 18 along the lake and 36 holes total, we will add these three to the existing 18 and play four rounds of 21. We'll get an early enough start on Sunday that even 42 holes will be completed early enough to allow travelers plenty of drive time to get home. (Although telling Ricky to bring his geritol C-dub, is still a good idea. :D)

This will mean a field of about 110-115, with a couple of ghost cards if needed.

Now, the tough news. Despite the appearance, I have not been putting you guys off when it came to questions regarding lodging, I simply have been unable to find anything good to tell ya. I have talked to countless motels in Cedar Park, as well as the places with lodging in Lago Vista. As some have mentioned, the Resort has been pretty much booked solid since January and the extra rooms that they thought they might have ready in time for our event in May, will not materialize this year. Being a holiday 3-day weekend, and evidently the national "let's get married" weekend, we are running up against limited availability, if at all, and no offers of decent rates.

Here's a few of the things I've found:
Comfort Inn in Cedar Park (about 15 miles from the course)has less than 10 double rooms left available and about a half dozen singles. Their rate is $89.95/night. Their number is 512-259-1810.

Travis Lake Resort in Lago has about 10 rooms left for the weekend. The problem here is that there is a 3 night minimum. These are suites with 2 beds, a sleeper sofa and another couch. The staff there tells me that these rooms can sleep up to 8 people. If it weren't for the 3 night stay minimum, even at $169/night these would be a good deal split between that many people. Their number is 512-267-3088.

There may be some other accomodations in Cedar Park and some even a little further away, which I'll continue to check on. So far, it has been a frustrating dead end with nearly every place I've asked.

Feel free to let us all know if any of you spy out your own good deal. I live about 45 mins. from the course and have a big backyard with plenty of tent space, and a sparingly used practice basket. :)

Let's hope that the Casa Lago Resort folks let us get dibs now on rooms for next year's Flying Solo Memorial, as I can't imagine ever having this event anywhere other than the last course Solo came out to play, and where so many of his friends still come to play at least once a month.

I've finally been getting some entries in off titleDISC, and coupled with what I have received in the mail and by hand, I have enough now to make a players list a worthy endeavor.

I'll post one tonight before I go to bed.

May 18 2004, 01:13 AM
Who was the guy from Temple that got the ace?

May 18 2004, 01:58 AM
You guys thought I'd gone to bed, didn't ya? Didn't ya? Admit it! :D

Okay, well its still a little light, but I know personally at least 2 dozen more that have promised me they would be there and I'm guessing enough others that we'll hit our 110-115 field with no worries.

If you have made plans to attend this special event on this awesome course, I would strongly suggest that you don't wait to get in. TitleDISC entries will pick up strong over the next week and my phone has been ringing. Folks have failed to trust me before when I say this and it hasn't worked out too well for them, SIGN UP NOW or take your chances.

There a few on the following list who have yet to pay me. You know who you are and, more importantly, so do I. :) Don't forget.

Any chance of camping on the lake below the resort?
If not we will stay at the LCRA Park.
Myself and a few others from Temple are coming.

I would not suggest camping lake side by the course. It would probably be okay but it would be bad to be asked to leave, by the police, when you have reached that peak buzz and are settled in. :o
Efrian, no hookups with elec and h2o nearby that I know of.

More mowing and weedeating has the course looking better. I redid and enlarged #7 green, #8 green, and #9 green yesterday. I did a little more on #14 which was worked on Sunday by Greg Hilhouse. Thanks to club members Kim and Susan for their cash donations to Greg and Joey for gas.
We still don't have the riding mower running for any period of time but are working on it. That meens that everyone volenteering have more to do and are working harder.
Mark was that you who weedeated around one, two t, and eighteen?
Hopefully after this weekend we will have it looking great.

Joey and Jeff put a new fuel pump on it and now it is acting like carb problems. Joey is suppose to take it back to his shop so Slingblade can fix it. Have Eddie check with me before he comes all the way out and the mower isn't there.
