The course looked really good this Saturday with the exception of hole 1's teebox and hole 2's basket sitting in puddles. Maybe some dirt, sand, or mulch would help a little bit since there's more rain on the way.

Played two of the three courses in S.S., not as tough as I thought they would be, (not that my scores were smoking, just did not end up anywhere that I couldn't throw from), though my arm is hanging by a tread now and we did not play the longest of the three.

Things are going ahead of schedule on the Rivery redesign. The city has mulched 95% of what was cut by us as well as them. We have one hole left to cut, the 666' hole that joins back with original course. I will post tomorrow work day details for the 4th and 11th. If we get the OK tomorrow there is no reason we couldn't have the rest of the trees done as well as baskets set by the 11th. We will need lots of help. Stay tuned.

Hole 2 is old # 5.
Hole 3 is old # 6.
Hole 4 is old # 7
# 5 than walk down the road past the gate on your left and to the right will be tee # 5. to get to hole
# 6 Than you will walk around under the bridge to your left. Keep going until you see some flags up on the hill side by the sidewalk. This is a anhyzer past the big trees. Than walk to your left into the woods and the tee for # 7 will be on the right
#7 is straight ahead. Than walk down and to your left a little and you will see #8 tee box.
#8 is a slow curve to your left. Than walk back towards the sidewalk and you should see tee # 9
#9 straight hole than walk back towards the sidewalk again for tee #10
#10 is a straight up hill shot towards the big rocks. (Very cool hole) walk to your right after you play this hole down the path.
#11 is a little short hole back towards the big rocks. Here you will need to go back to the sidewalk and walk a pretty good ways than you will cut back into the woods on your right.
#12 long tight hole you can see the basket on this hole as you cut back into the woods towards the tee box. Than you will walk back out to the sidewalk and follow it back under the bridge and you will see hole # 13.
#13 dog left left by a huge picnic table. Go to your left across the sidewalk and down the little hill towards old # 11.
#14 old # 11s basket with the tee moved farther back. Than go back to the sidewalk and walk down 30 feet or so and cut into the woods on your right. Kinda of like if you are heading back to old # 10s basket and to the left you will see #15 plays to old # 8s basket. Than walk back to the left of old #10s tee box and you will see New tee # 16
#16 plays up to old # 14s basket
#17 is old # 15 than walk back past the playground to old # 17s tee.
#18 is old # 17

on a side note!! we picked up many beer cans yesterday while playing!! WTF is the deal , why can't people put their #$*&$! cans in the #$*&$! trash??
disctance00
Mar 07 2006, 10:50 AM
I remember seeing trash cans out there in the past that were overflowing most of the time. Sometimes they get full and then SNAP we have high winds and it blows all that trash all over the place. For the most part I don't believe it is people out there junking up the course directly. Mother nature helps out too.

Mar 07 2006, 10:55 AM
true true. but I gurantee you the walkers will see golfers drinking beer anb than we will be the blame for all the cans regardless and than they will tell the city and bam no more course.

There are ALOT of people who go there and hang out and go camping and party etc...that are not DGer's. Last thing you wanna be doing is blaming it on DGer's. Hell DGer's are the one's that clean it up. I'm sure the Parks people know we are doing our part as a DG community to help keep the park clean.
Maybe Efrain can oversee a cleanup commitee to go out ever so often and do cleanup at all of the Wilco DG courses, do you wanna head that up Efrain?

Mar 07 2006, 12:48 PM
No need for a committee . I pick up other people's trash when i play. Jeff , the trash trail followed the holes with a couple beer cans every couple holes just off the fairways. There are a lot of casual golfers who could care less and throw their trash where ever they want. You can see displays of this at almost every course around here. I also never said it was disc golfers doing this!! :p

Jay, take a right on the road immediately past wendys then a right a couple hundred yards down. You will turn into the park around where the 3 green enclosures are on the right. The road is a rock road at first then it turns to caliche or something similar.hope that helps a little!!

Was the wind a factor today?
fo sho
there are some crazy dips and the wind seemed to be swirly on severl holes. You would think it would not be such a big deal, cause most of the course is secluded...but it came into play quite a bit

I'm really impressed with the new Rivery layout. The new holes are awesome. The whole course is almost all Roc+Putter but boy will it test your mid-game. Kudos to the people who put the new holes in!
FYI there seems to be some bulldozing going on on that dirt road leading from the paved road that Wendy's is on, to the first hole. I parked up top and walked down.

that's what i'm talking about....that dirt road, the part that goes from up top to down below, is all chewed up from bulldozing. Efrain said he barely made it down there in his truck, lol

I made it down there easily.
Of course that was in my Land Rover.
Is the plan to pave that road, or plow it under?
