Hey, I am wondering if anyone will have some extra floor space for this tourney or to split a room. I initially had recruited two new guys to come play there first tournament, but now they just bailed out (they got skeered). I guess i could get a room solo, but didn't want to shell out all the funds by myself. If anyone is not afraid to room with an ex san antonian, now Louisianan please let me know.
Thanks,

Anyone that's played the Nac courses lately -- how is the crud on the back side of both courses? Is it pretty deep and muddy?!? Since we've had a pretty wet last year since the last time the courses have seen tourney action, I would think it's gotten worse. What about mowing on the rest of the courses? So much for rollers...

Can someone confirm for me that the players meeting/sign up will take place at Pecan Park, not Pioneer on Sat morn. I will be driving in from Louisiana early on Sat morning and have not driven to Nac before and want to make sure I go to the right park. Also, if anyone one has driven this trip or happens to know how long it might take me from Leesville, LA to Nac please let me know. Yah, that's kind of a joke since nobody probably has even heard of Leeville, but really if you do happen to know let me know. Thanks! :D

"Jim, if I remember correctly we both beat you".

Matt, what you remember was getting the first place prize and Robbie getting the second place prize. I did not accept prizes at my own event....., Thus making you, the second place finisher, and Robbie, the Third place finisher end up first and second. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Here's what I learned:

Advanced:

Matt Hall -22
Robbie B -15

(Robbie and Matt each collected 3 skins a piece along with their partners, Mike Olse and Jerry Perez, respectively).

Congrats Matt on another Stellar finish, way to hang in their Robbie and give the 16 year old pro a run for his money during the first three rounds! :)

Apr 04 2005, 02:42 AM
Here's alittle more:

Jt Peebles took 3rd in ADV and was the 3rd am skins participant.

A pro won the raffle and was teamed with the first place open finishers which was JD Ramirez. JD won open with I beleive -26.

Jack Camp won intermediate with what was said to be some incredible rounds shot in the 3rd and 4th rounds to come back and take the win.

The Rec winner was some local who was -5 after day one and continued to shoot well through day 2 and ended up somewhere around -8 for the weekend.

Jerry Perez i believe won Masters which as you saw his score was good enough to be one of the top 4 open pro scores.

Also another rumor was that on the final skins hole Robbie Bratten blasted an airshot that went approx. 100 feet past the next furthest drive and was said to be close to 500 feet and landed about 25 feet from the basket.

Skins were exciting. It was an alternating format. Olse/Bratten took the first three. Matt/Chile took the the last three; the forth hole and the fifth and six pushing with Matt winning in a CTP playoff. There was serious booming going on by lots of guys, especially Robbie. It was fun to watch.

Great job and thanks, Team Disaster.

The event was awesome as expected. Even better was the weather. Thanks to John and Team Disaster for a great event. Thanks also for starting early on Sunday; as this was mostly catered to traveling players from Houston and Dallas, that really helped get back and a little bit of sleep.

Congrats Matt, you played outstanding on Sunday to take the win. Maybe next time Robbie or I or someone else can give you FOUR rounds of competition. I gave you 1.5, he gave you 3, and that was enough to leave it wide open. Does anyone know why Pioneer Park plays so hard?!? It seems like only one or two advanced players could get lower than -1 over there this weekend, with almost everyone between -1 and +2. Oh well, there's always next year. Thanks again to everyone for what was a great, fun event.

I too had a blast and really enjoyed these 2 courses, not to mention glad I had my seal skins on at Pioneer. Thought I had an ace on fifteen, but the group of females near the basket said it popped out. Hard to see since the tree in front of the basket blocks half of it. Anyhow thanks to all the great guys that were on my cards and congrats to the winners. I'll be back for more next year. Thanks Gimp, awesome tourney and only a short 2 hours from Ft Puke, LA. :D

Hey - someone help me out with the aces (who hit them, what course, what hole) - - Thanks!

There were four for $107.50 each.

Brad will have titledisc up this week.

I can help with two of them:

Gary Watts - Pecan Park - Hole 15
Cecil Larkin - Pecan Park - Hole 9

I was playing with Gary and as soon as it left his hand it looked on target, dead center of the chains and dropped to the bottom of the bucket.

I was a card ahead of Cecil, and heard it. For those not familiar with Hole 9 it is a relatively easy knife heiser at a blind basket.

I had a great time this weekend playing some great courses, didnt bring my game with me this weekend but had a fun time playing with some cool people on every card, every round. Congrats to Mark Nolan on getting on the top the card the last round and finishing 4th, he made 6 birdies in a row at Pecan Park and finished with a -8. TD and staff did a great job and I arrived in Austin at 8:00 PM. I'll be back next year, I just hope that it isnt that nasty(mud) on the back 9 of both courses.

Apr 04 2005, 03:35 PM
The mud will be there, but the "island" hole will not. I hope that some folks will help out and bring some portables next year. We need a portable for hole #1 at Pecan if that cage is not fixed and we need a portable to take out hole 12 because of the mud.

Strange that my phone has not been ringing every 5 mins this morning.

Si, Derek. I played it rather well overall...

But, the circle 5 was my last hole of the tournament. I hit the 15' and tie for last cash. Instead, the putt goes short, rolls back to me and then turns left into the ditch. Then I miss the 12' followup for good measure.
