When do Champion Rocs come out every year. I was also woundering where I could get one?

I just emailed Zone driven. They go on sale Feb 1st online and via phone. They expect them in by the end of this week, and need to inspect and get a final count, they believe they are getting in ~1800. I will be standing by with creditcard ready.

Last year I believe they said the limit was 10 but some people bought more. I hope they do not come out with a bunch of different stamps like they did last year. That is gimmicky and can cause the collectibility value to go down.

Personally I didn't like all of the stamps last year. I do like a variety of stamps, but some the last years were lame. They do fly great and I'm looking forward to getting a couple more this year.

Me too, I want some to throw, so Feb 1 is now marked on my calendar. I didn't like all the stamps, too many, rotate them by years that's my advice.

It would be sweet if they used the star and football stamp. That would problably decrease their collectablity though :D

If they had Rocs left over at USDGC,what do they do with them if thats the only place to get that stamp?

I seriously doubt they ever have any extra CFR Rocs, aren't they usually tons of people waiting to get these discs? from the prices on ebay, you'd think there were only a few going around :D

If they put restrictions on how many you could buy as stated,there could be some left over, but I dont know if their was.I wouldnt think so.

There were still quite a few in boxes when we were tearing down after the awards. And they still wouldn't let you buy above the restrictions.

The new Champion, USDGC Rocs are coming soon.

Innova also makes CFR Classic Rocs, which are totally different, and a dime a dozen.

They changed the plastic for the 03, 04, and 05 Rocs.

They all are made to benefit the USDGC and are made in limited quantities.

They now are called "Champion Rocs" as opposed to Champion Edition, to avoid confusion, of course :confused:

i broke out a glo a while ago and was lovin how it flew both forehand and backhand for upshots and drives, it was very similar in flight to the 01 although nothing will ever be the same :D...then i threw it over into some creepy dudes yard by my old middle school :(

When to buy? 12:00 PM EST. The early bird catches the worm.

How to buy? Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, Pay Pal, check or money order.

How many can I buy? 50. If you try to order more your order will be cancelled.

How much? $25 for regular and special blend versions, $30 for glow KC edition, and $20 for X-Outs.

Even with a greater number than last year, your favorites may go quickly. Get your order in early, and just because it's in your shopping cart, doesn't mean it's yours until you check out.

Theoretically, 10 people could have the same disc in their shopping cart, but when a person checks out is when it is removed from inventory.

X-Outs are imperfect discs. Either they have a double or triple hot stamp, or they have an imperfection in the plastic. Most of the plastic imperfections are little black specs that look like cigarette ashes. some have a lot, some, only a few.

You can choose your weight, and choose standard, special blend or Glow. X-Outs are $5 less than the original price.
You are not able to choose color or stamp variables.

There are more regular run C-Rocs X-Outs than any other type.

Yes, you know you got it when you complete your purchase. Placing the item in your cart does not reserve it. I believe that the cart will let you know t check out if an item has gone out of stock.

Eric - I believe that you can shop and prepare your order as you describe, but I am not 100% sure.

Probably not taking phone oprders because they said the phone order takers were going to enter them on the website as they took the orders. If not, the inventory control would not work.

As you probably know, the USDGC Roc ordering system has been overwhelmed. This occurred before we could even finish the quantity upload.

We planned for 8 phone order takers and 2,000 simultaneous on-line users, but obviously we miscalculated. On behalf of the Championship, I apologize for the confusion, aggravation, and delay.

Here�s what we plan to do.

1. Take the sever off-line
2. Reboot the server
3. Clarify the orders that were received
4. Bring the server back on-line with the corrected available quantities.

The time it will take to complete these steps is indeterminate. Theoretically, some on-line orders may get through before the system goes off-line. Phone orders can not be taken during this time as the phone orders utilize the same data base as the on-line orders.

Again, I apologize for the situation. Please be patient and we will get the system up and running as quickly as we can.

Why do this in the middle of the day when people are working? I suppose there would be more orders placed if it was after traditional work hours, but then you have to account for east and pacific time zones. But again, they went on sale at what, 9 a.m. in Cali? So there won't be so many people making money off them on ebay, and it wont take people so long to order. It is sad that it has become a "Black/Grey" market item, when the money should be going to the USDGC.

I loaded my cart this moring with them and ended of removing about a 1/3 of them because they were gone, The Tribal Stamps went fast, holy cow!!!!!!!!!!!!! I tried to do 2 smaller orders in hopes of getting them easier but I got the the credit card processing and then they went down : (

Heck, I only bought 7 and that is because I was getting Felix's order of 2 special blends, my order of 1 red special blends, One of my friends order of 1 red and 1 blue special blend, and then 1 glow roc for another friend. That way we weren't hitting the site so many times.

When I went to buy some at noon my internet wasn't working, so I tried fixing it before I had to go out. Now, I'm back, my computer is fixed, and i can't get on to buy some.

When I read yesterday that they were making a few thousand more than last year I figured they would last at least a few days. They might too- but it'll be because people can't get on to buy them.

I think the people who TRY to order the larger numbers are having the most problems, as it is pretty much a given that by the time they get to checkout, something will be gone, then they will remove them, find something else, and something ELSE will be OOS, instead of saying OK, I will get these and be happy, they want to order more when their cart is less than full.

Those who are ordering only a few, and models that are not down to the single digits, are probably making transactions without a lot of problems.

But the server is down now, no use refreshing, we'll post when it is back up, or, undoubtedly, another message boarder will...

Hang tight, nobody is buying them now, and more will be available when it's back online as we got locked out of the system while we were uploading the quantities. We are stocking the discs that weren't in before the server was taken down.

Look. This is not Innova's fault nor Zonedriven's. It doesn't matter if you wanted 1 or 50 Rocs. There are not too many servers that can take 2000 or more hits every minute or so. Enough hits and any server in a small time frame and I can assure you that ALMOST ANY server will go down.

If you try to order 50 Rocs, by the time you got your 50th Roc, a lot of the ones you wanted would be gone(like rickb said).

This is telling us 1 thing. The sport is growing and people want the quality *****. If you thought that at 12 you would have been able to order smoothly without any hiccups were living in a fantasy world. Like I said earlier...it didn't matter how many rocs you wanted...that didn't crash the server. The amount of people that wanted these discs did crash the server....

50 disc orders are for profit only. Even if you only make a penny. I also dont think they will stop running CE Rocs for the USDGC, ever. I think people are in the right for complaining.I know people that dont even play that are trying to buy the max amount, so in six monthes they can bank on making at least 10-15$ a disc.For all the hype that goes into this, I wouldve thought it would go smoother.Im sure Ill get screwed and be paying Ebay prices as well.

My guess is that they are taking care of all the orders that have been placed before they put the site back up. That would be the smart thing to do. Then, all inventory should be available up to the minute. I didn't want to sit and try most of the night, but I guess that's the price you pay for wanting one. Don't have anything anything to do tonight anyhow.

i don't for one minute deny you the right to sell the stuff you have bought in the past, held on to until it was old and rare...but this CE roc thing is out of control, and it has nothing to do with how many people are trying to connect at once.

i don't for one minute deny you the right to sell the stuff you have bought in the past, held on to until it was old and rare...but this CE roc thing is out of control, and it has nothing to do with how many people are trying to connect at once.

the site is back up. make sure you check your order history before re-ordering everything you thought had been lost. i almost made that mistake before checking and realizing they had kept my order! :)

I think there is just a limit of 50, so how ever you get to that should be ok, I did 3 smaller orders

I would never want to order many of these (other than clear ones) because their collectability has gone down significantly due to volume

I did order a couple (5- two glows, 2 special blues, one green tribal because there were only 12 green in tribal. i'll probably throw one glow, and one blue, collecting the rest.......

last year i bought a bunch, all for 25 and they sold the next week on ebay for 50 each. this year i don't feel that is likely.

I ordered my first batch quick while I was in, then went back and perused for a few more. Hopefully they act on the 2nd order note and combine my orders to save shipping. :)

Shortly after 4 p.m. CDT the system started working perfectly for me. A little slow, but no refreshing was needed. I, too, found a good selection of discs. I've received no confirmation emails yet, but everything appeared to go through fine. Sure was a pain in the ***** just for more golf discs. I still haven't thrown any of my 2004s. :Drwc Of course, I wasted so much time at work trying to order plastic that I no longer have a job ... : ;)

I'll share a little something with you here. 2004 due to the demand I didn't get any CE ROCS. And I am a sponsor and volunteer at the championship as well as a client of Innova and Zonedriven. 2005 I did most of my pruchasing of CE ROCS at the championship. For the current runs I ordered 2 which I had to wait to get through and order like everyone else.

Do some research before making your next set of claims.

but i still think the distribution method leaves alot to be desired. i know they are doing their best, but i think they need to think outside the box, rather than trying to tweak a process that has proven ineffectual at best. i managed to order about 20 of them for myself and several people in MD that couldn't get online, last year i gave away all the ones i got at cost or as ctp's.

No hard feelings. I talked to the folks down there today and they were ready for the rush. That was until they were getting 1000's of hits a minute. There aren't many servers that can handle that load no matter who you are.

That was why I posted what I did. This is huge for the sport. Alot of money raised for the EDGE program and the championship. Build what you have now (USDGC) while preparing for the future (EGDE).

The CE Roc ordering system needs a little work for next year. I know for UW bball tickets, there's a lottery system to determine which students have the chance to buy tickets. Do you think something like that would work for the rocs? Limit the # of rocs per person to 10 and hand out #s earlier in the year. Then when rocs become available, the first 100 or so have the chance to buy the discs. After this 100, move to the next 100, etc. This way, people who aren't 100% in it for the profit or who actually don't have a jobs that allow them to hit F5 all day, have a better chance of getting discs.

I'm guessing the standard run refers to the rancho cucamunga mold that the dx, se, and CE rocs have been made in.

I ordered my Rocs and am psyched! Not only that, but playing today after work I hit and ace with my 2004 Champion Roc. It was a sweet S-curve over some low trees and a huge part of my 10-down round. Talk about cool. Hitting an ace with a Champion Roc on Champion Roc Day. I guess that's why any aggravation I felt trying to order today is worth it. They are sweeeeeet! Can't wait to throw the new ones!

next year, I am going to skip the noon maddness, forego the rush hour web traffic and log on at 10:30 PM and get what I want of what is left. I wasted hours at work, but I do finally have a red and blue tribal coming my way.
That is once i receive e-mail confirmation....

Now comes the real issue. I play at a couse with alot of water and frequently sink my plastic. Recycled at 4 to 6 bucks is not grim when tossed into the slimmy a muck but it could down right ruin my round to grip rip one of my new ce rocs into that toxic slim. Damm these are not going to be turned into modern art. Discs are made to fly. It will be a glorius and grand flight and hopefully a long life for my 05 tribal red roc. Who plans to throw these over water or on holes where there is a chance for a final resting place other then the mantle?

I think the answer to the secondary market in CE Rocs was addressed this year. They made like twice as many! People who are buying 50 and hoping to make a big profit will find that the prices are going to be way down for a long time due to the supply available.

I bought them this year for the same reason I bought them in 2001 and every year in between: because $25 is too much for just a disc, but $25 if fine to support an awesome tournament (and help make it awesome-er) and get a cool disc. When I dropped a c-note in 2001, I had no expectation that those disc would be going for $186 on eBay, nor do I expect that from the 2005s.

Just getting some cool discs while supporting a great event. Hopefully all the Rocs sell and it is the right amount to produce this year.

I really don't expect eBay prices to be high for these. In actuality, I expect some people to do the "tulip bulb frenzy" thing and buy the whole 50-pack when they can't really afford to do that. I expect some of those people to be selling at a loss within two months, and being ****** off about it. What I'm saying is that I expect to see some of these Rocs going for $20 on eBay long before they get up to $50.

But I was wrong about the star-stamped CE Spiders, so who knows. :)

IMO thats pretty crazy, why risk losing a 30 dollar piece of plastic when you can throw a dx roc or z-wasp. but hey, if you can afford it then go for it.

i will however throw my $pecial blend$ if they fly like i expect they will, just not when theres a chance i'll lose it.

For instance, there is water down the right side. Pretty easy and perfect for a roc (for me) 260ish disc flys over the water with a left finish. Shot it at least 50 times with the same buzz and no issue. This is the shot I would use the roc, will I chicken out? 1 out of 100? will end in the drink. To toss or not to toss?

I have to agree with you. Hopefully the CE rocs that were availble at USDGC will go up in value. I have a few white ones that I'm holding on to. The new ones will plummet in value. I hope everyone buying them is going to throw them and not stash them. You're wasting your time. It's like comic books in the 90's all over again.
Just to save you some money, Z-wasps and Z-Buzz's(special blend) are readily available at $13.00 at most retailers. And you don't have to worry about where your "fund raising" money went to.

I cant wait to see how much the first ones start going for on ebay. I expect they wont go for that much, and the older ones will drop in value due to larger supply on the market. Just have to wait and see.

Where is the fairness in selling 50 discs to one person...probably not a vender?
THose of us not blessed enough to have high-speed connections (from the sounds of it, some people that even do have hi-speed) will never get one.
The only lucky ones are the people that will make $$$ from people like me that didnt get one. :mad:

How can scalper help raise money for the Tourney without putting a bad taste in the disc golf world's mouth? I think that more people were discouraged and won't be involved next year than the few people trying again. :(

I'm as far from an expert as you can get, but here are my thoughts on the whole Champ. Roc deal:

What about producing a limited number of a certain color or stamp for collectors and then running some other, generic stamp for the rest of the season? I understand that a lot of the reason they make a bunch of money is because they only run a limited number and are able to charge a bundle for them, but that does seem to make the discs inaccessible for a majority of the players out there. I'd like to be able to pick one up and try it out. Then if I like it I could buy a couple more as backups and if I lose one I would be able to get a replacement.

It seems to me that the rules governing how many discs are needed to be made for a disc to be legal are there to force manufacturers to make sure everyone has an oppertunity to have access to any given disc, but the number isn't so large that a startup company has to make more discs than they'll be able to sell. It seem to me that, while the cause is good, Innova is abusing this system to artificially drive up the price of this particular disc.

I'm sure that in the past the current system worked really well but as the sport gains popularity Innova may be losing out on a segment of the market who's willing to shell out $25 for a disc to support the USDGC, but not if they can't easily replace the disc they lost.

Again, I don't know if the idea of making one, small set for collectors and a constant supply for everyone else will work or not, but it seems like it's worth considering...and maybe you guys already have. ;)

There are still pleanty of rocs available for sale, so unless your conection takes you 3 days you should be fine.

Till yesterday I had never bought any USDGC Rocs before. When I heard a few days ago they would be going on sale soon I decided to buy some. They are great collectors discs, to sell, or to throw(for others, not me). Unless you got some of the rare colors then they probably won't be worth that much. However, besides the next few weeks I bet they won't be below $25-30 in the future. They're a pretty safe investment. There will always be a market for them, just not as demanding as in the past.

took just over an hour. but actually got all of the discs I wanted....except those purple special blends.

so I guess in theory...the purple special blends are the most rare and collectible, followed by green and then clear. IT will be interetsing to see. Green tribal....my mouth is salivating waiting for the mailman.
