2011 US Women’s Disc Golf Championship concluded under the hot Texas sun with Valerie Jenkins claiming her second national title.  Her four under par, 1,011 rated round gave her a four stroke lead over Liz Lopez going into the final nine. Jenkins’s stellar play provided the first separation among the top three Pros throughout the entire tournament. In the final nine Jenkins’s continued her dominate play leaving Sarah Stanhope and Liz Lopez to battle for second. Neither Stanhope nor Lopez backed down and it ended with the two tied for 2nd.

Round Rock boasts themselves as the sports capital of Texas and The Double R Disc Golf club proved that this weekend by running a top notch tournament. The community support and plethora of local volunteers made for a smooth weekend. Spotters were provided on every hole and the well ran hospitality area was constantly packed with staff to assist the players with their every need. The players received loads of merchandise in their player’s packs, free lunch and beverages everyday at the course along with free after round massages.  Thank you to Round Rock for making this a Women’s Nationals to remember.
