Disc Golf, coming to the Cypress Area!

Have you not heard? Texas Army Trail Disc Golf Course, located at Bud Hadfield Park has been approved by Precinct 3 Commissioner Steve Raddack. Construction of the new course began in September 2010 and due to a group of diligent volunteers headed by Charles Haney, Jr., Chris Shell & Rynn Sanders, Texas Army Trail is quickly solidifying its reputation as a world class disc golf course right here in our very own backyard. The course currently has ten of the eighteen holes installed and ready for play.

The course is located on the original homestead of William Burnett, and gained notoriety when the interim government of the Republic of Texas stopped here at dusk on April 16th, 1836. The soldiers consumed most of Mr. Burnett’s livestock and grain, and even burned his fencing for cooking fires. Four days later, these brave men fighting for the independence of Texas routed the Mexican Army in the battle of San Jacinto, leading the way to our independence. It’s in these brave men’s honor we have proudly built this disc golf course. Each of the eighteen holes on the course are named for eighteen key battles in our victory over Mexico.
