CBD Product Use Policy at PDGA Events

Last updated: Wednesday, December 11, 2019 - 17:32

On November 12, 2019, the PDGA Board of Directors discussed and approved the below policy concerning the use of CBD products during PDGA sanctioned events based on recommendations from the PDGA Medical Committee.

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a compound derived from the hemp or cannabis plant.  Products containing CBD are becoming increasingly available to the general population in the United States and other countries.

Use of CBD products containing less than 0.3% THC is permissible by competitors during PDGA-sanctioned tournaments. However, CBD products which are inhaled (for example, through vape pens or smoking flower) must follow the same restrictions as per PDGA policies, rules and competition guidelines on tobacco use.  In addition, the use of CBD products at PDGA-sanctioned events must comply with all federal, state or local laws and regulations of their respective countries.
