PDGA Hires New International Director
Craig Sheather joins PDGA staff

The Professional Disc Golf Association is proud to announce the appointment of Craig Sheather as our new PDGA International Director.
Craig brings nearly 25 years of experience in disc golf as a player, administrator, tournament director, and global ambassador for the sport. Originally from Australia and now based in Vancouver, Canada, Craig discovered disc golf as an adult and quickly became a pillar of his local and national disc golf communities. He has earned both provincial and national masters titles, captained Team Canada as well as his home club, the Mundy Park Disc Golf Club, and continues to compete actively in MP50.

His leadership in disc golf is extensive and international in scope. Craig currently serves as Chair of the Canadian Disc Golf Association, Chair of the WFDF Disc Golf Committee, a member of the PDGA Seniors Committee, and Tournament Director of the British Columbia Open. Most recently, he served as Tournament Director for disc golf at the World Games in Chengdu, China. Previously, he also spent many years as President and board member of the British Columbia Disc Sport Society.

With a deep passion for developing the sport globally, Craig is particularly focused on expanding international participation, strengthening athlete development pathways, and elevating disc golf’s global profile. His decades of leadership experience, supported by a 33-year career as an executive with YMCA BC, bring strategic insight and a collaborative spirit to this new role.
Now retired from the not-for-profit sector, Craig plans to dedicate more time to traveling the world, playing disc golf, and advancing the sport wherever he can.
Craig is joining the PDGA staff as Brian Hoeniger enters retirement and steps down from his role as PDGA International Director, a title he's held since 2007, following his tenure as PDGA Executive Director.
Craig will be an outstanding successor to myself as the new PDGA International Director. He brings a long and distinguished history in the international disc golf community, complemented by extensive executive experience in the not-for-profit sector. As Team Canada Captain, a Canadian A-Tier Tournament Director, and a key contributor to WFDF’s disc golf initiatives, including the recent International World Games in China, Craig has consistently demonstrated leadership and vision. Having collaborated for more than a decade, Craig and I share a strong professional foundation and mutual respect, which has been evident since we began our transition and training sessions today. - Brian Hoeniger, former PDGA International Director
