Alutaguse in Estonia will host the inaugural PDGA Europa Cup in 2026 as an A-Tier before the EC shifts to PDGA Major status.

We are proud to announce the inaugural PDGA Europa Cup, the future Junior and Amateur PDGA Major in Europe! This event marks a massive investment in the growth of the sport, bringing the Major championship experience to the heart of the European community.

2026: The Inaugural Edition

From July 23–26, 2026, the forests of Northern Estonia will host the future stars and best amateurs of the sport. Competitors will battle on the world-class Mäetaguse and Alutaguse courses that offer one of the most challenging and beautiful disc golf experiences in the Baltics. This edition will benefit from the PDGA's highest organizational standards, although this first year will be sanctioned as an A-Tier event.

They Said It

"Bringing divisional Majors to Europe has been a paramount goal for PDGA Europe for several years now. Since moving on from the PDGA Euro Tour and steadily building our personnel and financial capabilities, we have been paving the way for the future. That future becomes a reality in 2026.

While the PDGA Europa Cup will formally debut as a sanctioned Major in 2027 - giving players ample time to prepare, register, and fight for that Major title - the 2026 inaugural ‘year zero’ iteration will receive the full resources, promotion, and spotlight of a PDGA Major. It will be a go-to event for all Junior and Amateur players around Europe and beyond. I can't wait to share more news about this cornerstone event in the coming weeks." — Matej Verl, PDGA Europe Tour Manager

“The Alutaguse Open, with its two main courses at Alutaguse and Mäetaguse, has already become a benchmark for top-level facilities - not only in disc golf. Over the years, it has proven its strong organizational capacity through events on the Estonian Tour, the prestigious Baltic Championships, and DGPT Europe competitions.

We would like to sincerely thank PDGA Europe for the trust placed in the Local Organizing Committee to develop such an ambitious project as this PDGA Europa Cup within a relatively short timeframe. We are confident that we will deliver an organizational standard fully in line with expectations for this summer’s edition, while laying the groundwork to work even harder toward the 2028 edition, already awarded with PDGA Major status.

We are well aware that the rapid growth of disc golf across Estonia has become a model for other countries. Our goal is to continue contributing to the establishment of disc golf as a true mass-participation sport in Estonia, across the Baltic region, and throughout Europe.” — Timo Juursalu, Tournament Director, Alutaguse Open

“We are especially excited to host a PDGA Major at the Konopiště Open, allowing us to continue the legacy of the first Major ever held here, back in 2018 - an event that many newer players may not be familiar with.

I would also like to highlight the significant organizational effort required for a tournament of this magnitude. On one hand, the majority of the organizing team comes from another region of Czechia, making personal, family, and vacation-time sacrifices to deliver an event of this scale.

On the other hand, the fact that this is a temporary course built specifically for the tournament, set within the extraordinary gardens of the Franz Ferdinand Castle, adds an additional layer of logistical complexity. For this reason, we are truly delighted with the creation of this new Junior and Amateur Major, as it will allow hundreds of amateur players to enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime playing experience that, until now, was reserved almost exclusively for elite professionals.”— Kryštof Novák, Tournament Director, Konopiště Open
