This October, the PDGA made the pledge to donate $2 to Throw Pink for each competitor playing in a gender-based division at a C-tier and above tournament (worldwide). This included each time each competitor played. In October, there were 3,255 instances of this happening which means a $6,510 donation to Throw Pink.
The PDGA Women's Committee chooses the charity to benefit from the breast cancer awareness fundraiser each year. This is the second year in a row for the PDGA to donate to Throw Pink for the October breast cancer awareness fundraiser. Throw Pink is a collection of disc golf events across the country with the purpose of encouraging women and girls to get out and be more physically active. The program, founded in 2013, was established to make a difference for women’s health initiatives, specifically breast cancer. Learn more about partnering with Throw Pink for your next event.

Clement Farm Women's Open had the most gender-based competitors, at 71, across 10 divisions. Many participating were playing in their first tournament. TD Dee Tripp noted, "Clement Farm Women’s Open is all about being beginner-friendly, welcoming, and empowering, especially for women who may feel intimidated entering the sport." The event was co-directed by Emily Braun and Kristen Brazile, who Dee credited with helping "create a supportive, uplifting experience for every player."
For the event, the Clement Farm Women's Open partnered with Throw Pink to raise awareness for breast cancer, and even had Sara Nicholson, co-founder of Throw Pink, join them. Every player who wore pink received a special gift as a token of solidarity. Event organizers also hid pink ribbons throughout the course — each one symbolizing someone currently fighting breast cancer. It brought a beautiful sense of purpose to every hole, reminding participants that every throw and every cheer mattered.

Running Your Own Fundraiser
There were 23 CEP events that had women participants in October. The CEP event with the most women participants was The OG Mamas 11th Annual Breast Cancer Charity 2025 (CEP Charity - Rated) in La Canada Flintridge, California, USA. The event had 21 women competitors and 48 total competitors. In a video on Facebook, the OG Mama Disc Golf Club announced they raised $6,300 for City of Hope and in another post, they announced that they raised $1,300 for St. Jude Children's Hospital.
The PDGA Competition Endowment Program (CEP) was created to provide a means for Tournament Directors to hold events with the purpose of raising funds for a 501(c)3 or other charity. CEP events can be categorized as charity, scholastic, or developmental.
When hosting a charity CEP event, the $3 player fee is donated to the chosen charity. The event will also provide $3 to match that player fee donation. In addition, at least 25% of the remaining net entry fees must also be donated to the event charity. The TD treats the per-player donation amount as a pass-through fee. An added benefit for participants and TDs alike is that the $15 temporary membership fee is either waived or at the TD's discretion, may still be charged and also included in the donation to the event charity.
