Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec's premiere PDGA disc golf tournament invites you to join us for a four round, two day tournament June 23rd and 24th, 2012 at Camp Fortune, Chelsea, Quebec!
The Capital Classic enters its second decade of operation this year, with the biggest prize we've ever offered. That's right, the top two finishers in the MPO, MPM and MA1 divisions will be granted an entry into the Vibram Open, the PDGA National Tour's crowning tournament, held August 16th to 19th, at Maple Hill DGC. Simply sign up for the Capital Classic, and pay a ten dollar "qualifier entry fee", and you could be playing against the world's best at the Vibram Open!
The 2012 Capital Classic is a PDGA B-Tier event, with over $700 in added cash and prizes. Players packs for all Amateurs, and Pros play for cash!
With a field limited to 80 participants, we expect less than 50 Pros and MA1 participants, giving you a worst case 1 in 25 chance to qualify for the VO.
As Tournament Director for the 2012 Capital Classic, I can tell you that Camp Fortune is in it's prime in Mid to Late June, with a beautiful combination of woods, open fields and elevation providing a challenge for beginners and pros alike. Situated on a ski hill in the heart of Gatineau Park, Camp Fortune is the best course in Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec, with challenge, fun, and beautiful vistas everywhere.
What's the added bonus? June 23rd and 24th is also St. Jean-Baptiste holiday in Quebec, meaning concerts, beer gardens and fireworks all within 20 minutes of Tournament Central, for those looking for a little French-Canadian culture and excitement after their rounds.
The Ottawa area offers many quality and inexpensive lodging options for traveling players, and, for one weekend only, I can offer the spare room(s) in my house, plus camping in my back yard for anyone interested. I'm located about 12 minutes from Tournament Central.
Entry fees range from $35 (MA3) to $65 (Open) Canadian, making this tournament good value for money too!
If you're interested in participating, on-line registration is available at https://ondisc.site-ym.com/events/register.asp?id=226298, or you can PM me or e-mail me at lissyssil@gmail.com for more information.
Thanks for reading, and I hope to see you at the 2012 Capital Classic!
Cheers,
Mark Atos
