It's listed as being in Augusta, Ga in a month and there's no flyer, no website, no information and nobody returns emails.
If a tournament happens and nobody hears about it did it really happen?

I received a flyer in the mail yesterday, and see it's available through the "website" link from the events page. Not sure when it was posted there.
Seems like awful short notice (less than 2 weeks away) for an A-Tier, but perhaps I just missed something along the way.
It's not on the South Carolina state organization site, as either an SCDGO or non-SCDGO event, either.

Go to the link at PDGA and click on the tournament name. You will se a web link to Disc GOlF U where the flyer is and you can register

Yes. I've seen a Facebook post from someone who did well there.

Wow. So a PDGA "A" Tier event held in Augusta came and went with essentially no website, virtually no information about it posted on the PDGA DISCssion Board, and no results posted yet?!?

isn't posting of results within some sort of time frame part of the sanctioning requirement for A-tiers?

I was thinking the same thing, but too lazy to research it.
This has been something of a mystery event from the start (and I'm only 70 miles away). I hate to be critical without knowing the whole story---as I'm pretty good at looking foolish when I do---but this has been curiouser and curiouser.
In fairness, I don't think you can draw a conclusion from it's being near Augusta. I don't think the PDGA HQ is any more involved than they are in New Zealand events.

I thought the same thing, but it turns out that the guidelines are for submitting the Electronic TD report to the PDGA (http://www.pdga.com/files/documents/TourStandards.pdf) within 24 hours for NT event, 48 hours for A-tiers, and 2 weeks for B & C tier events.
There are no requirements for TDs to utilize the PDGA Online Tournament Scoring System to upload results and generate unofficial round ratings for events.

they're more likely to be involved in an event in new zealand since that might involve a trip to new zealand on the membership's dime.
second "mystery event" of the year in close proximity to HQ- the other was the pdga championships...

Since the electronic TD report includes results, I just assumed they'd appear. But maybe not.

Touche'.
Though there is a substantial difference between a "major" run by the PDGA, at their headquarters, and an A-tier run by someone else, at a private facility 30 miles away.
