The Sauls family invites you to join us on Sunday, October 9 in Newberry, SC for the Battle of Stoney Hill.

* One-day, Sunday-only tournament.
* PDGA Sanctioned
* SCDGO Points Series
* Free Camping
* One of South Carolina's highest-rated courses.

This is the Sunday after the USDGC, so you can join the gallery (or play, if you're lucky), then come out Sunday for a little (more) competitive golf. Or you can just come out Saturday to practice the course, join our non-sanctioned activites, or just camp out.

Visit our Stoney Hill website ( www.saulsinsurance.com/stoneyhill ), and click on the "Battle of Stoney Hill" link, for the flyer and much more information.

The tournament webpage now has a link to the pre-registered list, including the early-bird contestants who have already signed up.

The pre-registration list has been updated and, though we don't generally have a lot of early-registers, there are some new names and some names from the past that we're excited to see coming/returning to Stoney Hill.

As with any event, we encourage people who know they're coming to pre-register. It certainly helps with the tournament planning and Sunday-morning checkins. While you're at it, bring a friend along---the more players, the more money we raise for the AHA.

Reminder also that we have several events Saturday---unsanctioned singles play at 4:00, dinner at Roma's, and free camping on the course Saturday night.

The Columbia Disc Golf Club will be holding their club monthly at Stoney Hill this Saturday at 4pm in conjunction with our singles event that had already been planned. More than halfway full!

Which means more than halfway to our fundraising goal for the American Heart Association.

So bring your friends---help us fill this year and reach that goal!

A big thanks to everyone who showed up to play in our backyard this weekend. Especially since it was a 1-day, low-entry, low-payout fundraiser. We filled, uh, overfilled for the first time ever, including some new faces and a few we hadn't seen since before the pond went in. This enabled us to exceed our goal and raise around $1400-$1500 for the American Heart Association.

An even bigger thanks to those Alan, Zack, Hal, and anyone else who volunteered to help us out on the scorekeeping and other duties. Your help was invaluable.

And an even bigger thanks to Amanda for feeding about 80 people as part of the fundraiser. (What with this fundraiser being very personal, she was really really moved that so many of you showed up, too).

.....and the final thanks, in advance, for your patience in my getting the results posted. It takes a few days to restore order in my house and haul the results back to the 20th century where there's internet access. (21st Century? How can that be? It's still 1954 at Stoney Hill!) Anyway, I should get them done in a day or two.

In the meantime, I hope everyone appreciated our efforts to drum up some extra wind, once again.

Results have been posted.

We filled for the first time, then over filled and had 78 players all making there donation to charity and The American Heart Association. A cloudy sky and blustery winds greeted golfers from as far away as Alaska as the 2nd annual Battle of Stoney Hill took place this past Sunday. We had 78 winners and no losers on this special day. A very big thank you to everyone who attended and help us raise $1544 for A.M.H and to those who donated their winnings to this great cause. Somewhere, someone's dad, mother, child, aunt, cousin or friend had their life saved today thanks to donations like this to A.M.H. Everyone should be proud. See you next year!
