Just wondering where the hype is? There's no online discussion that I can find, and there is no mention of this PDGA Major on the PDGA website (other than the schedule and an announcement about the open invite for 940+ rated players on May 17th). I remember last year, for about 3 weeks leading up to the event, there were news flashes and videos on the PDGA home page. This year there is nothing. Is there no hype for this event? The PDGA doesn;t even seem to be advertising this Major. Just seems strange to me and had to throw it out there. Thoughts?

The tournament filled. It does not need hype anymore.

On the PDGA homepage (http://www.pdga.com/) there was a 2011 USADGC preview article (https://www.pdga.com/2011-usadgc-preview), a 2011 US Amateur National Disc Golf Championship online series pt 1 (http://www.pdga.com/videos/2011-us-amateur-national-disc-golf-championship-online-series-pt-1) article with archival footage from Disc Golf Live video magazine (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nn1_XVk2D6Q), a USADGC - Checkin (http://www.pdga.com/2011-usadgc-checkin) article, a USADGC - Day 1 (http://www.flickr.com/photos/pdga/sets/72157626809003525/) article with pictures and links to YouTube videos (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gusoYdFd2iM) and Flickr picture galleries (http://www.flickr.com/photos/pdga/collections/72157626809017739/), and a USADGC - Day 2 article (http://www.pdga.com/usadgc-6-5-4-3-2-1) with more pictures and links to YouTube videos (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQwKYk9ypsM) and Flickr picture galleries (http://www.flickr.com/photos/pdga/sets/72157626942643338/). There's also Disc Golf Live's 2011 US Amateur National Disc Golf Championship online series pt 2 video (http://www.pdga.com/videos/2011-us-amateur-national-disc-golf-championship-online-series-pt-2) with action from the first round.
So any assertion that "The PDGA doesn;t even seem to be advertising this Major" is about as blatantly false as could be.
Now, as for the online discussion on this message board, I think it's almost entirely the responsibility of the tournament organizers & staff, and less so the locals and players who are competing in the event, to start threads and post relevant information on the PDGA DISCussion Board. As is being discussed in the BHMO and KCWO threads, it seems like everybody is just using Facebook these days. As nice as Facebook is, it would be a shame if official news, information, and updates for PDGA events are not being communicated on this member-supported message board, which one could argue is exactly the reason for the PDGA DISCussion board.
