What does the "Brixx Pizza" on the registration list represent?
They are just there to populate all of the divisions that will be offered (and to advertise our title sponsor).
There will be a couple of representatives from Brixx playing in the tourney but I don't have names and divisions yet.

All baskets are now in their tournament positions (except the two temp 17,18 (original) holes 19, 20)
The baskets will remain in tourney layout through the tournament and the two temp holes should be installed for entire week before the tourney.
AS ALWAYS, YIELD TO ALL ROPES/CHALLENGE COURSE ACTIVITIES WHEN THROWING NEAR THESE AREAS (HOLE 3,4, AND TOURNAMENT TEMP HOLES 17 AND 18)!!!!
IF YOU SEE ANY ACTIVITY AT ALL ON ANY CHALLENGE OBSTACLE, DO NOT ASSUME THAT YOU CAN THROW JUST BECAUSE YOU THINK YOU CAN CONTROL A DISC. FIRST, ASK THE FACILITATOR IF YOU MAY PLAY THROUGH.
THE CHALLENGE COURSE STAFF KNOWS THAT THE TOURNAMENT IS UPCOMING AND WILL PROBABLY LET YOU THROW IF YOU ARE PATIENT AND POLITE. BUT REMEMBER, THEY HAVE PRIORITY AND THEY ALSO HAVE THE RIGHT TO CANCEL THE TOURNAMENT AND PULL THE COURSE!!!
IF THEY ARE BUSY, YOU MAY HAVE TO SKIP THE HOLE. PLEASE RESPECT THE OUTDOOR EDUCATION CENTER AND MOVE PEACEABLY TO THE NEXT HOLE(S). THANK YOU!!!
that being said...
tournament layout
#1. reg
#2. long pad, long basket (lost disc may throw from last lie or short pad (drop zone)
#3. long basket (drop zone for OB pond will be to the left of the pond)
#4. reg pad
#5. long pad
#6. reg pad (basket position will probably stay on right side unless the original (left) basket can be replaced in time for the tournament)
#7. right basket
#8. long pad, right basket
#9. long pad
#10. short basket
#11. reg
#12. reg
#13. reg (par4)
#14. left basket
#15. short basket
REMEMBER, TOURNEY LAYOUT SKIPS NORMAL HOLES 16 & 17, AND WE'LL ADD THE TWO TOURNEY HOLE AT THE END
#16. reg hole 18
#17. tee driveway (marked) to long basket for old hole 17 basket position (par 4)
#18. tee from natural pad, basket on old foundation, original hole 18 (par 4)
course par 57
hole #6 clarification: due to standing water/ mud the original basket (no sleeve, pole concreted straight in ground) was removed recently. The plan is to build a 20 ft square elevated terrace, with the basket in the center, to prevent standing water around the basket. We hope to have it in by the tournament, but are at the mercy of the state for materials (telephone poles) to build the terrace walls. If it can not be completed in time, we will play the right basket location, where the basket is currently, and usually dry.

Warning: we encountered several yellow jacket ground nests while moving some stumps today on tourney hole #18. Near the landing zone at the bottom of the hill, just inside the gap in the trees leading up to the basket on the mound, there is a ring of tree stumps used as stools. While moving these, we uncovered the nests. They have been sprayed, but all are probably not killed. We'll hit em again tomorrow, but beware for the next day or so.

This weekend, coinciding with the disc golf tournament, Carolina Baseball will be hosting Stanford in the Super Regional in hopes of returning to Omaha for the College Word Series. Boshamer Baseball Stadium is very close to the Outdoor Education Center/ UNC disc golf course, and parking/ traffic will be impacted. Access to Ridge Road will be limited to permit holders only, and left turns from Raleigh Rd onto Country Club Road (the only way to access the top parking lot of the disc golf course) will be discouraged by traffic cones and UNC Police.
Tournament disc golfers should still turn left onto Country Club Rd from Raleigh Rd at the light.
Simply tell the officer/ attendant that you are going straight on Country Club to the OEC/ disc golf tournament (NOT right on Ridge Rd) and they will let you through.
Make sure to allow travel time for possible traffic delays.
