Stumptown Disc Golf is once again partnering with KEEN footwear in conjunction with Innova & Next Adventure to bring you the 2011 Beaver State Fling (www.beaverstatefling.com). This PDGA Elite National Tour event will again take place on Milo McIver State Park’s two beautiful 18 hole courses lining the banks of the magnificent Clackamas River in Estacada, Oregon. Due to changes in the National Tour schedule, the Beaver State Fling, which traditionally had taken place on Memorial Day weekend, has been moved to the weekend of June 24th - 26th. Tournament Directors Jeff Mittl and Jeff Hagerty, who have joined forces to deliver yet another high caliber National Tour event, are hoping this schedule change will result in even better weather for this great event. The Beaver State Fling has a storied past and tradition of excellence which continues to draw top level disc golfers back to the grandeur of the Pacific Northwest year after year.
This year we plan a return to the festival feel from years past. With that objective in mind we are returning to a combined pro-am event on a single weekend. There will be plenty of side events to entertain the masses during and after rounds: including the epic mini disc golf course, a putting competition and a skills contest. We will again be using both the East and West courses which are played as pro par sixty with lengths in excess of 8000 feet. Camping will also be offered again on site this year with more space for RV’s and tent campers, including a space for Thursday camping arrivals. Reservations for the parks designated campground can be made at www.reserveamerica.com.
We will be offering 160 Professional spots this year for the NT and 144 Amateur spots for the A-Tier event. As always, we are hoping more ladies will make the trip this year to compete for the crown and help round out the field of competitors. The professional divisions will be playing 2 rounds again on Friday, competing for the mid day tee times on Saturday. Their final round will be on Sunday to wrap up the weekend competition. The Amateur Division will be playing two rounds on Saturday with tee times. The first round will be in the morning and the second round will be in the later part of the afternoon. The third and final round will be with tee times on Sunday morning.
Professional Registration:
Due to the overwhelming demand for this event and our own desire to attract the very best players this sport has to offer, with the support of our primary sponsors, we have asked the PDGA for, and were granted, permission to institute tiered, ratings-based registration for the NT side of the event.
Here is how tiered registration will work:
Phase 1: 03/16/2011 @ 6:00pm PST - Registration opens for all 1000+ rated MPO players, plus all FPO women.
Phase 2: 03/30/2011 @ 6:00pm PST - Registration opens for all 970+ rated professional players, regardless of division, plus all age-based professional divisions.
Phase 3: 04/13/2011 @ 6:00pm PST - Registration opens for all remaining professional players.
Important Notes:
* We will have division size caps in place to ensure non-mpo divisions remain viable.
* Anyone attempting to register before their tier is open will have their registration declined.
* As per the NT agreement, we will also be holding a limited number of slots for 2011 National Tour Champions and returning 2010 Beaver State Fling MPO & FPO champions.
Professional Division Sizes:
(Note: these may change slightly based on registration trends. For example: If we receive more than 20 FPO registrations in the first phase of registration we will accept those entries.)
Division - Initial # of Slots
MPO - 80
FPO - 20
MPM - 32
This leaves 28 slots available for "other" professional divisions.
Amateur Registration:
Registration for the amateur side of this event has also proven to be quite the undertaking in the past. The event has filled so quickly that registration felt more like a case of who has the best internet connection, or who can race home to get registered in time. In an attempt to make this as fair as possible for everyone, and with the support of our primary sponsors, we have obtained permission from the PDGA to institute a lottery system for amateur registration.
We will open pre-registration on 04/01/2011 and it will remain open for two weeks. During that time period anyone who would like to play in the event can pre-register at no cost. At the end of the 2 week pre-registration window we will sort all prospective players by division and begin randomly pulling names. We will then send an email to those people containing an email link where they can formally register for the event. Players who are selected will have 2 weeks to register for the event, after which time their slot is forfeited and goes back in to the pool.
Once the event has filled, all remaining names from the initial two week pre-registration window will be randomly sorted and placed on the waiting list. If a slot opens we will pull names from the waiting list in order.
Important Notes:
* We will have division size caps in place to ensure non-MA1 divisions remain viable. We will be requiring at least 4 players in a division.
* Anyone attempting to register before their tier is open will have their registration declined.
Amateur Division Sizes:
Division - Initial # of Slots
MA1 - 72
FW1 - 16
MM1 - 32
This leaves 24 slots available for "other" amateur divisions provided the division meets the four players per division requirement.
In Closing:
We understand some people may not approve of this plan, but after much deliberation we decided this method of registration was as fair as we could possibly make it. We are also confident it will alleviate the server-load issues we have had in the past during registration. We hope people understand the dilemma we face when putting on an event with far greater demand than available spots.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us through the Beaver State Fling website.

Not knowing if our small group of players from Texas can even get in until mid May sucks, especially if only one or two of us get in.
Why should the people who are ready to register today (paid in full) have to wait until May? Not to mention having to wait that long for airfare and lodging.
Way to keep it local!!

After reading your post, we thought this through and we agree with you completely. We will be changing the date amateur pre-registration opens to 4/1/11. This will give all out of town players a bit more time to make their plans.
With that said... This: "Way to keep it local!!" was a cheap shot. We could have done any number of things to keep this event local, and we chose to make this as fair as possible for everyone. Personally, I think your logical suggestion was diminished by that comment, but the suggestion was still good enough to take into consideration.

I apologize if my comment offended anyone, my frustration took over by the time I got done writing. I have tried to coordinate with the TD when registration would open because of all the arrangements we need to make and all I've been told is to keep checking the website, which is still under construction. When the registration answer finally came out it only left us a month to arrange everything.
According to previous years the window of getting in was small and we knew that, but at least it was a window and we would know right away if we got in. I appreciate your efforts in trying to make this as fair as you can, I can't imagine how much work it is, however it makes it harder for those that need to travel.
Again, I apologize for my comment, it was a reactionary statement to my frustration. I am very pleased that you have considered changing the dates of registration, that says and means a lot to us that will hopefully be traveling your way in June.

Wow, this makes it really tough for me to want to support your event. We hear things on this website and through our local pros about how great these out-of-state tournaments are, but yet we have to "win a lottery" to get in. OUCH. It should be first come first serve.
When a group of serious tournament golfers (ams) want to travel to your tournament but can't get a guarantee that their whole crew can sign up early and get in, it's very easy to take our tournament $$$ somewhere else. I know this may not matter to you since your tournament is sure to fill, but it really frustrates the travelling amateur disc golfer that wants to experience the sports larger events.
....just had to get it off my chest

We are faced with another case of "You cannot possibly please everyone."
I fully understand that you've probably never had to win a lottery to get in to an event, but let me ask you this: Have you ever tried to sign up for a tournament that has completely sold out over 150 slots in less than 6 minutes, and had well over 100 people on the waiting list within two hours of registration opening? These are the exact issues we had to deal with last year.
Trust me, I wish we had the capacity to handle the demand for this event. Nothing upsets me more than people being angry at me for trying to manage something that is nearly impossible to manage.
As for this comment: "Don't hurt your shoulder, let someone else pat you on the back." Really? What did this add to the discussion, other than just being petty and spiteful?
Yes, we are proud of what we have built here, both in terms of our event and the two courses at Milo. In fact, we are so proud of it that we volunteer hours of our own time, year after year, to prepare those courses so people from all over the country will have a great experience when they come to visit.

I guess I should have signed it "Petty McSpiteful" then.....just didn't see the need to brag about your event when 'jdgolfs247' was appologizing for being passionate about his goal to get to your event. I am not known for my tactful speech, I just say what most people want to, but don't.
I don't see the need to have a lottery. It should be like any other event, concert, sporting event. You wait in line all night, you have friends buy your seats for you, etc....It should be first come first serve, and when it's Full it's Full.
I'm done.

Ok, I'm going to step in here and stand by Angst and clear up some of the ignorance or lack of knowledge of the history of the BSF that is apparent on this thread.
The Beaver State Fling filled up the Amateur side in 2009 in like 23 minutes, then in 2010 it became "who has the best and fastest computer/internet connection" as MA1 filled up in just about 3 minutes and the rest of the Amateur side in less than 7 minutes. The Pro side filled up in like 24 or 48 hours last year as well.
The major complaint was that a lot of golfers were not able to sit at a computer right when registration opened so it favored those who were at a computer plus some who were at a computer, did not have a blazing speed internet and couldnt get through the jammed server in time to win a spot.
If I am correct, there were like 200-300 MA1's who tried to register not counting the other divisions. If the BSF decided to continue the first come first serve concept online, I am sure the Amateur side would fill even faster, the TD's would have to spend more money on a server capable of having hundreds of people on the site trying to do the same thing all at once and it would be heavily dominated by the locals with a few lucky people outside the NW getting in. The lottery eliminates the need for a server to be able to accomodate this frenzy and allows everyone in the US a fair opportunity to participate in this unique tournament. Plus a lot of locals will miss out an opportunity because out of region players will get those spots through the lottery, and we understand, because it is the fair thing to do at this point.
Last year, because of these issues, the TD's decided to double their volunteer time by splitting the weekends to allow more players to participate. It was successful but didn't have the same feel as in the past with the pros mingling with the amateurs, so I'm assuming this is why the weekends were put back into 1 weekend.
As far as lodging goes, everyone camps next to the course! This is part of the experience, camping right next to 7W, 8W, 9W, and 10W fairways, waking up and throwing.
Milo McIver is 36 holes totaling over 16 thousand feet of fairways that are full of rich green Oregon grass. It probably takes 3-4 days to mow the entire place and they probably mow it twice before BSF. Milo is quite the undertaking, especially when you add the clearing of brush and branches in the woods. Just saying this not your normal sized course and is not close by either, Milo is about 30-45 minutes away from most of the locals in Portland.
Just wanted to add a few facts/assumptions to help clear up a few things.
Hope you guys get in and get to experience what is the BEAVER STATE FLING!

<fyp> ;)
Kudos to the BSF staff. Pro's by rating, Am's by chance- seems exceedingly fair.
And that way the serious golfers get in first, seriously good.
They (BSF) could likely raise the price by 300% and still be over-subscribed.
Good call Jeff & Jeff moving the date- 6-8 weeks lead time imo is about the minimum for an event of this calibre.
How many AM's will enter the draw for the 144 spots? I'll pull a few digits off my disc and set the line at 626, and I'm prolly short. (that's what she said).
my suggestion for 2012 and beyond- AM division winners who move up can register with the first group of PROs the following year.

I rarely post on PDGA, but I am an Oregon golfer and I have played BSF the last 3 years, last year I placed very high in the field, and I am hoping that lady luck can offer me a place in the event this year. Am I spiteful or upset--no. The State of Oregon statistically holds all PDGA time records for filling events. Our State, the golf participants and facilitators, should be applauded for having an enthusiam for the sport that none other have! If the enthusiam for golf were better in other states then they would all be feeling these pains of demand within their events, and we feel this same pain in the majority of our events! The tourney directors are trying to satisy all, but MILO is a place that your crew should travel to, not only for tourney play, but for the golf experience. From your post, you value the "traveling together" experience rather than the golf experience. I have to travel, just like you, to events outside of Oregon, or even inside Oregon for that matter. There are very few Supertour events for us top-level Ams in the US. I don't whine and cry about travelling with anyone if I want to attend a top-level event. I simply do it, with or without my "travelling companions"...for the love of the sport and for the golf experience. Your need to travel with a group to attend this top-notch event is similar to girls needing to go to the bathroom together (not to disrespect the girls out there). I would cringe to see how you react to Oregon MOUNTAIN Golf...if you can't make BSF then try for the Lava Launch in Bend, OR. That will give you a soft, actually very soft, introduction into Oregon's other level of golf...SNAP, well said and I'll see you at the house in AZ.

I was the TD last year for the BSF and I handled the registration and server crashes and all that Jazz. Clearly the gentlemen from Texas feel that their sever speed is good enough to compete in the online rush to register. However I would contest that even if last years registration method was put in place this year with the reduced MA1 field size to 72 people that there is no way your entire crew is all going to get in. So then I guess you would come back on here and complain about how you were trying since the registration opened and could not complete your transaction because the website kept locking up. Been there done that!!!!!
I don't know if the lottery is the best way to go for an A-tier event but it sure is better then an Internet freenzie that crashes servers and reduces it down to internet connection speed and luck.

Nope, first come first serve is my opinion. If everyone is allowed to do their own very best to get in I have no problem with that. When our ladies are wanting to play also in their respective divisions, it doesn't make sense to depend on all of us winning a "lottery".
have a great event and I hope your lottery works out for you.

I hope you at least understand we were doing our very best to come up with a plan that was as fair as possible, for as many people as possible.
With that said, even I have to admit that people in your position (amateurs wanting to sign up and travel as a group) were definitely hurt the most by this plan. I only wish I had a better solution, but I will say this much... the mad rush of years past definitely wasn't it. Perhaps, when all is said and done, we can come up with something that works for everyone. It won't help this year, but down the road it might.
I am curious though, how many people were you initially intending to travel with?

Imagine 750 people trying to register for 144 ams spots in less than 5 minutes.
350 being MA1 (only 72 get in)
150 being MM1 (only 32 get in)
75 being GM1 (part of 24 spots left)
75 being FW1 (only 16 get in)
and another 100 trying to form new divisions (will there be any room?)
I'm a family man too and our whole family plays.. the BSF has a unique demand that cant satisfy everyone. For families, I would try both pro and am registration to get everyone in.

We did a second weekend last year because the event sold out so quickly, and while it did work out, it also required considerably more effort and an army of volunteers. On top of that, it also doubled the expenses. (Renting the courses, tents, radios etc...) Lastly, the split weekends took a little something away from the event. Having all of the AMs and all of the Pros milling around together on a single weekend creates more of the festival atmosphere our major sponsors prefer. Who knows... we may have to revisit the idea down the road.

Even last year with a separate AM weekend and online registration, the likelihood of all 5 or 6 of you getting in would have been small. You may well have a better chance in the lottery.

The NT event is effectively full. I have a few slots remaining for the MPO & FPO winners of NTs between now and then. However, since most of the top rated players are already registered this does mean a couple of spots may become available, so signing up for the wait list might not be a bad idea.
The Amateur A-Tier pre-reg list is piling on names like mad. We will have our drawing in one week, so if you are an Am and you wish to try to get in please get your name on the pre-reg list.

Well folks, here it is. The following people will be receiving email registration invitations early next week. (Sorry, I'm playing Whistler's Bend this weekend, so y'all are just gonna have to wait).
Once you receive your invitation email you will have ONE WEEK to either get yourself registered or make arrangements with me personally or I will give your spot away. If you fail to register or contact me, please don't complain when I drop your name from the event. I do not have the time to be hunting down people who can't take care of their business.
As for the lottery, basically... everyone in all divisions other than MA1 got into the event. I had 196 MA1 players vying for 76 spots, so quite a few people didn't get in and I feel terrible about that, but we just don't have the room.

YIPEE!!! I'm really glad I got through the lottery and for the record (regardless if I got in) I think that's the way to do it. Paying for the fastest internet connection isn't the best way to promote our sport. At any rate is there somewhere I could find an idea of the tourney schedule so I can start planning for time off work and driving out there?

Goose,
Thank you. There were a few people who weren't too happy with "fair", but for the most part the response was positive.
I will have a schedule up as soon as I get all this registration stuff under control, but you can count on all pros playing 4 rounds total, with 2 rounds on Friday, June 24th and one round each on Saturday and Sunday. All Ams will play 3 rounds over Saturday and Sunday.

I wouldn't mind hearing a little buzz myself! But even without it, we're pretty excited about what we have planned for everyone. Our two courses are already awesome, but we're committed to improving them even more.
We've been out at Milo 3-4 days a week removing blackberry and scotch broom as well as cleaning up fallen limbs, leaves and litter. We have our mowing schedule all planned out for the week before the event, so those of you who love your rollers will be happy campers.
Last weekend, we reassembled the first set of baskets that we had powder coated and then installed them on the East side. We then took those baskets out to have them reconditioned as well. We are extremely pleased with how the first batch turned out, and I think everyone will love how this project turned out.
This past weekend we completely rebuilt one of the greens by replacing a few decayed logs with new ones. We also transplanted several ferns to spruce it up rather nicely as well.
We're also working on a couple of new greens... just to change things up a bit for those people who have played here a few times.
I hope the competitors are as excited about this event as we are.

Very pumped up for this event! The BSF will be the apex of Tour de Rizbee 2011 - we'll be hitting the road on Monday from SoCal and playing a few courses along the way. Never played the BSF and have a few noob questions
I'm in the Advanced division and just want to be clear on this - I check in at my starting hole? and how long before my tee time should I check in?
Also it says we play 2 rounds on sat and 1 on sun. That means we play 36 holes on sat and 18 on sun right? And what course would we be throwing on sun?
Last question. After my round on sun will the Pros still be playing so we can watch some? If there is anything else I should know let me hear it. See you all on the course!

HalloweenGod85, you should be at your starting hole 20 minutes before your tee time. Groups go off every 10 minutes. The Starter will be creating your scorecard so if you show up late it will put more pressure on the starter to call around to try to find you. Milo is a big place so if you are mistakenly on the wrong side of the course then 20 minutes gives you enough time to correct the mistake. Starting holes for the Westside are West 1 and West 10 on the Eastside: East 1 and East11
Yes you will play 18 holes on tee times in the morning, then a lunch break and a second round after the professionals in the afternoon. It takes about 1 hr and 50 min to play 9 holes at milo so count on 4 hr rounds, again this complex is big and plays around 8800 feet for each 18 hole course.
I believe MA1 plays, east, west on Saturday and then East on Sunday or that is how it was run last year.
Yes depending on your first two round scores on Saturday will determine your starting time on Sunday. If you play well you start later. The last pros will tee off around noon on Sunday so if you are wanting to catch the lead card you will still be able to catch most of it.

First round scores should be up soon. Looks like the weather is cooperating with low 60's and low winds. Weather should warm up on the weekend. Any predictions out there for winners or top three in Open and Women?
No one had Christian Pegged last year for the winner any one feel he can repeat this year with limited playing time?
I know Dave Feldberg really wants this on his resume of wins but he always seems to have a few lack luster rounds. Anyone think Paul Ulibari has it in him to take home the win or Garret with his cannon.
I am watching these guys this weekend for a first win at the BSF:
Paul McBeth
Paul Ulibarri
Niko Locastro
Brody Miller
Josh Anthon
Garrett Gurthie
I am watching these women for stellar play:
Des Reading
Paige Piece
Valarie Jenkins
Sarah hokum
Liz Lopez
Lets hope for the live twitter feeds on the weekend from all the teakies and live scoring from the pdga crew.

No live scoring Sunday either that I can find. Are there cell phone coverage issues at these courses? It didn't look like much of a race in Open Women and Masters but I sure would have liked to follow the Grandmasters and Open divisions, where only 1-3 throws separated the competitors on the lead cards going into the final round.
All the articles on the PDGA home page about the BSF during the weekend said to "Check in at PDGA.com for live scoring and updates" so I don't know what gives.

If anyone is wondering, I was watching and I believe Paul McBeth won it on the last two holes, going birdie, birdie on 17 and 18. Dave Feldberg went par par, and Nate Doss also went birdie, birdie to finish in a tie for 2nd place with Dave. Will Schusterick was tied for the lead with 3 or 4 holes to go but hit a tree (I believe on 16) that knocked him out of contention. A very exciting finish!<!-- / message -->

To everyone who tried to check in for some live scoring you have my sincerest apologies. Even as the lead cards were teeing off we were trying to get the live scoring working properly, but I finally decided to focus on "absolutely must dos" instead of "really want to dos". I'll be better prepared for that next year now that I know exactly what it entails.
Even with a few hiccups here and there, I'm very pleased with how the weekend turned. I saw a lot people smiling out there and that is what it is all about for me.
I would like to thank everyone who traveled from around the country to play in the Beaver State Fling. I can only hope you all will return home with good things to say about our event and our courses.
Lastly, and most importantly, I would like to thank the Beaver State Fling staff and our army of volunteers who helped Jeff Mittl and I pull off this amazing event. It really is all of you who make us look so good, because there is no possible way we could do this without all of your help and dedication.
Thank You!

First and foremost, hats off to the Beaver State Fling folks for another superb event at the McIver Complex. Job well done and congrats to all of the winners.
Jeff L as well as many others where really hoping for a glimpse of the event through live scoring, what exactly happened? I am not really sure of the circumstances that disallowed this feature, but I have heard the Open battle and finish was nothing short of spectacular. Even the Masters lead card had a person dedicated to doing live scoring and was treated to a six stroke lead whittled down to two in the first nine holes.
When I hear the TD say he needed to be better prepared I immediately wondered why he is apologizing. This is the ELITE NATIONAL TOUR SERIES of the Professional Disc Golf Association. Aren't they the ones with the complete knowledge and understanding of how Live Scoring works? Shouldn't Live Scoring have been tested ahead of time? Shouldn't the PDGA made sure the event was prepared? I am not going to single out the PDGA representative that was there because it could have been any of the several PDGA representatives that are allotted expenses and pay to be at these ELITE events. I do wonder what are the exact roles of the PDGA in this ELITE series. I and other players have witnessed a number of instances in either pre-event or execution that these volunteer tournament groups really could have benefited from PDGA intervention or problem resolution based on experience and exact working knowledge of the National Tour Guidelines.
I ask is the PDGA not involved enough in the events they are organizing into this elite series?
Another example from this weekend would be the awards ceremony. This again, I don't fault the tournament organizers as I saw them working feverishly on writing checks, double checking scores, etc. I had the thoughts though of how important it was to get the winners up in front of the several hundred spectators that came to watch and present the incredible trophies and allow the top players to thank their sponsors in front of people that actually may be interested and affected. This is the level of recognition that the sport and sponsors have been desiring. I did have the thoughts that the official organizing body representative should have known the schedule of events to which the awards were to take place and intervened. I was involved with a spectator raffle as part of the awards/event finale and had trouble getting the schedule and order of things. It seemed like the obvious solution to the situation was to get the winners up in front of everyone, the trophies were ready. Instead, the winners took the podium several hours after the last putt and in front of only each other and the other pro players waiting for checks. I already know what everyone throws and who supports them. I feel for the winners and their sponsors. The players would have waited until dark to get the checks if need be.
The point is that the Beaver staff does this once a year. The PDGA ELITE SERIES happens 7-9 times a year for at least seven years now. Knowledge and Experience does no good unless it is applied.
Wish to leave this rant on stressing the great job that the Jeff's and their incredible staff did this year! Already looking forward to the next one:D

Yeti, I assumed that Patrick's six throw lead was safe...I would have definitely been really excited and cheering for you from my den when you had trimmed the lead down to just two!
I don't know what the nature of the problems were, but from a tournament director standpoint, I can understand and sympathize with ultimately having to make a decision to focus on addressing the "absolutely must dos" instead of the "really want to dos." Yes, live scoring would have been nice, but pleasing the folks actually onsite and competing in the tournament is ultimately the top priority.
Yes, both local clubs and PDGA representatives need to work together better to make sure that details such as live scoring, timely award ceremonies, etc. proceed as planned. Rest assured that as the guy in charge of the scoring & live scoring aspects at Pro Worlds and the Vibram Open, I'll make sure that things go off without a hitch. I'm also going to offer my assistance to TD Kurt Poole for the Scholl's Bicycle Center Pittsburgh Flying Disc Open National Tour event at the end of August. So we'll at least have things in better order for two of the remaining NTs this year and one of the remaining PDGA majors.

I did the PDGALive twittering for the 2010 BSF and 2011 Memorial... But I had to nag the PDGA to let me do it.... Also have presented the idea to the PDGA of having someone at the National Tour events making sure all the basics are covered like live scoring, stories, twittering, photos and videos are being delegated and taken care of...

Again, I think it's the joint duty of both the local clubs and PDGA representatives to work together to make sure that details such as live scoring, stories, twittering, photos, videos, etc. get performed. The PDGA usually sends only one rep to National Tour events, and the membership would surely cry foul if more PDGA reps were sent. The PDGA rep often acts as a Marshal and/or Rules Official during play, and may be responsible for the daily story and photos for PDGA.com, feature story and photos for DiscGolfer Magazine, meeting with disc golf equipment manufacturers or sponsors, recruitment of PDGA committee members, availability to members, spectators, promoters, volunteers, and media, and basic organizational representation at a big PDGA event. Live scoring and tweeting may often be too much to add to that plate and there's no reason any old local with a smartphone can't handle it - it ain't rocket science.
In the grand scheme of things, live scoring would have been nice, but it's a luxury item. Again, pleasing the folks actually onsite and competing in the tournament is ultimately the top priority. And from the sounds of it, the Beaver State Fling tournament directors and staff knocked it out of the park on that front. My hat is off to the BSF folks for once again putting on a top notch show!

Thanks for posting, Nathan, that is some sick coverage!
I wonder how long Schusterick's drive at ~7:50 (on hole#11?) was, I am guessing around 525 feet.

Lovin' me some Icky's Ego. Great videos too.
Doss was just a little low too many times or he would have won by 3 or 4.

Philo turned me on to his band at the Vibram Open last year. Icky's is some great stuff!
I don't think they play much in the northeast, if at all, so I am really hoping they play a gig in Santa Cruz during Pro Worlds! http://www.pdga.com/discussion/images/icons/icon14.gif

Anyone have a picture of the "Sundog" (I believe thats the term?) that occurred Sunday during the BSF? Pretty cool stuff!
I'm so glad that the tournament was in late June this year, instead of late May.

I am not sure that Icky's Ego is a lock for Pro World's, last I talked to Philo, they were still trying to get a gig. So if you guys want to do a fellow player like Philo a favor, send an email to Tom at
tomschotsports@gmail.com
and tell them you want some Icky's Ego at Pro Worlds!
And Will's drive on #11 was in the 525-550 range as the hole is about 690 and he was about 150 from the basket... The best drives were Paul's tee shot on 10 and 2nd shot on 14(which I missed due to the video angle but it was a tightrope through a gap that went 500 feet)
