I've already taken and passed the test but am wondering if players are expected to pay to take the test if they are playing in a major.

Although a confirmation from John will be nice, it seems that based on his previous post, that's a definite Yes. I'm not sure this will be an easy pill to swallow for those who have signed up to play this event but who don't intend on being a TD any time soon. :/

Having said that, I gotta wonder how much "fund raising" this will generate for the PDGA after the costs of setting up that online test are recouped.

Personally I think the PDGA should add the cost or a portion of the cost for the exam to our renewal. You can't get a drivers license without taking a test, you shouldn't be a member without a test as well.

It's only 25 questions but it makes you read the rules. Even playing in MA1 I come across people that don't have a clue.

OK, we're full. We now have 108 teams registered. If anyone thinks we've missed something, please let me know. We'll now start putting teams on the waiting list.

As for the burn ban, there actually is one, so a bit of rain would help.

Circle R is actually in HAYS County, just one mile away from Blanco County. We're so close that we actually pay Blanco County school taxes, but we are still in Hays.

A few quick updates:

The PDGA is now calling anyone who hasn't passed the test yet. Pass the test, and spread the word. Non one wants to find out what happens if people show up Saturday without having done it.

We're not yet able to post pools, because we keep losing teams from one division while adding teams from another. Still too much flux. Hope to solidify that soon.

We can say that all Advanced will be in Pool A, and most Intermediate will be in B.

Masters and Grandmasters will be in C, along with the remainder of the Intermediates. Not sure yet on Women.

We want to thank Yeti, Bert, David McKinney, and Bird for stepping up to help this weekend. And huge thanks to Josh Rippie for being the man and for all he's done this week.

Thank you once again for allowing us on to your property. Played with three great teams (people) each round and had fun catching up with those I only see once a year.

The extra holes (I assume from all the trimming) from teams look interesting, too bad we didn't play some of those.

The Team Drinks A Lot motto still remains: "There is always next year".

And to the MM1 team that shot 51, on the Hill in Best Shot, "Wow!" I would have like to been on that card.
