TEAM JUSTICE has anyone told yall the beast is not playable and wont be for a while, they are still working on front side of the park. There are still nine playable holes in the woods, hole 18 is pending due to construction. The course is not competition ready!!!! I was also told by a little birdie that someone was going to cut new holes in the woods around the other holes, THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN EITHER.!!!!! There are plans for the city to cut a walking path through the back nine, we have no idea of where it will start or end, and they are not willing to give us the rest of the woods for new holes. Sorry to be the one to tell you guys but the beast is a no go.....

ED, we have 23 permanent holes at cam. west. We have multiple pin positions on a few of the old holes , which has allowed us to have three differrent layouts. I believe it is in the red layout and will be this way for the tourney. Here is a link to the layout. http://wacodga.com/smf/index.php?topic=376.0.
If that doesnt work just go to wacodga.com use the discussion link, then scroll down to courses section it will be under this thread- william cameron park. I think you will really like the five new holes, and the new pin positions on the ol ones. see yall there!

so according to this rule out of the competition manual below Brad should have gotten the $105 that went to Bird???? he choose not to participate by drinking a beer in the finals!! right is this correct?? can the pdga shed somelight on this?
From the competition manual:
D. Any eligible player who chooses not to participate in a semi final or final shall receive cash or prizes equal to finishing last in the appropriate cut.

Apr 05 2011, 03:59 PM
Huh????
He chose to take his position on the box and throw, then putt, and then throw again on the next tee. If he had only blown it off and sat in a chair drinking his Lone Star, then he could have had $105. I think Matt had a much stronger argument: Is Lone Star really beer?
That right Matt, I remember all your witty material. :)

This is a quote from another thread..
Chuck Kennedy..."If you qualify for the Final 9 but decide not to play, you still get the last place prize in the Final 9 and you are done with competition but not done acting properly while the event continues. Read section 3.3 on Player Misconduct in Competition Manual and you'll see that participants are still subject to rules of behavior."
So....did someone get DQ'd and if so, have they been reported to the PDGA's disciplinary comittee?
And...if that is the case, why is he still playing tourney's?

Not an automatic suspension...he was off probation, so they have options...made me sad to have do it, but I had little choice....and don't worry Paul, all reporting was taken care of
and Lone Star would not be my choice for a $275 beer...second dumbest thing I have seen at an event ever

The spots will go to the top scores that play the same tees the same number of times
At CoTo---MPO. FPO, MPM, and MA1 will be the only divisions that have a chance
Of course any player already qualified does not count as well as any player who does not opt in ($10) will not have a shot

So no spots saved for the women specifically? She'd have to beat enough of the MA1 and MPO to get into the spots. Not complaining, just seeing if it would be worth our time to put her in FPO @$70 and pay the $10 with a decent shot of getting a spot versus a $30 MA3 tournament.

I just signed up for COTO! Its a perfect pick for my DG Roadtrip. I expect I will be in the area the beginning of the week previous to the tourney. I read a little about camping at Moody's... what is this place? I'm traveling in my truck and trying to keep costs low. I have a tent and the back of my truck is setup to sleep in if a tent isn't gonna work. I would like to find some locals that have extra room or just a spot in their backyard to let me camp.
I've heard a lot about Austin and am looking forward to seeing what it is all about. Any suggestions on places I must go to or see? I would like to check out the night life too.

The name of this tourney should officially be changed to "the central texas droughtbuster." Just the freakin prospect of COTO has woken up the rain gods.
Nice weather on slate for the actual tourney though.

I am so looking forward to a weekend out at Moody's if for nothing else to celebrate the property. I hope for no fire flare ups between now and then!
Correct me if I am wrong Mitch, but this tournament is open to everyone even if you aren't a bonus qualifier? Those folks would be eligible for the regular tournament payout and just not the tour bonus.
This is an EDGE benefit tournament so please bring any items you wish to donate to the raffle. :D

Not only do we get to play and camp at Moody's Family Farm, but this year we celebrate that the red rock area was spared by the wicked fire beast.
Let's fill this place up to the brim with golfers far and near. Team Justice works their butts off for this sport and a full finale is a great way to thank them for all of the hard work.
They have a few surprises in store for those that make the trip.
If you have never been there, do what it takes to make it happen.
If you have been there, then come visit a dear old friend.
Bring your tent because the camping is where it's at;)

Here is a little something from the TD
What an amazing weekend! We had 117 total players, paid out over $8,500, raised $1027 for EDGE, and gave away over $1000 in added players pack items, CTP(s), and fun prizes!
It wouldnt have happened so smoothly if it wasnt for the Super Staff! Thank you Mitch, Fish, ZAM, Roger Ug Allen, Stephanie Allen, Sheldon Parker, David Moody, Terri Richardson, Meteor Mike, Adam Hernandez, and Ricky Amaya! You guys rocked it out!
Raising all that money for EDGE, giving away prizes, and having an awesome players party with live music and free beer couldnt happen without the support of our 2011 H.O.T.T. Sponsors. A super big Thank You goes out to Innova, Disc Nation, Grimmley Kitty, Waterloo Disc Golf Club, AOMA, Fly Ink, ZAMdesign, TeamJustice, Austin Beerworks, The Shady Rest, Dallas Disc Golf Club, Jeremy Bird Grange & the Metcenter Open, Susan Macaluso, Jeremy Mount, Gordon Kelley, Keen, Maui Jim, EDGE, Moody, Proforma, The Double R Disc Golf Club, and The Legend (James McCaine). Please support our sponsors!
The support and encouragement we got from all of you this weekend left me speechless and emotional, but it also reminded me why we do what we do for this sport. Words cant describe how grateful we are. THANK YOU!
A few fun highlights from the weekend..
Jeff El Jefe Thompson had the only ace all weekend on hole #15, Cassidy.
Des Reading won the Pumpkin Carving Contest for the 2nd year in a row!
The Shady Rest band had such a great time entertaining us Saturday night, they agreed to play again next year before even leaving the property
The mens Open leader card battled hard during the Final 9 on Sunday. Going into it, Matt Hall was leading by one stroke over Jamie Callis and Anthony Daman, who were tied. After the 1st hole, #10, it was all tied up and I could tell it would be an interesting Final. Hole 11 proved challenging as always. Jamie and Anthony gained a stroke on Matt and were then tied for the lead. Hole #12 caused some problems for Jamie and Anthony, but Matt took a 3 and once again, they were all tied up. Hole 13 proved to be a deciding factor. The O.B. marking the pond full created some pressure. Matt made the only birdie, and took back the lead. With no changes in position after hole 14, Anthony & Jamie were still tied and Matt was hanging on to his 1 stroke lead. On hole 15, Matt & Jamie walked away with birdies, while Anthony got the par and dropped one back of Jamie. All three players took a par on hole 16. Time was running out, and the pressure was on. That pressure cost Anthony another stroke on hole 17, and Jamie a stroke on 18. Matt sealed the deal with a birdie on the last hole, and became the 13th Annual Oktoberfest & 2011 HOTT Final Champion. Way to finish Matt!
Yup, it WILL be HOTT in 2012! Look for all the 2012 HOTT information to be announced towards the end of November.
Pease, birdies, and love,
Patty
