Sunny and nice today, with sunshine predicted through the week, most likely ending just in time for the annual gathering of the tribes. Looking forward to having Wisecup as my b eee yatch! Magilla, oddly enough, will be missed.

I'm pretty bummed about missing team again this year but my niece is getting married on Saturday. Good luck with the point lama (Wisecup). Hopefully AZ will do some good this time.

Team Oregon had to pull out this year due to excessive travel costs (at least that is what I heard). A team from northern San Diego is stepping in. Huntington Beach looks like the team to beat this year, as they are stacked to the gills. Course looks great, with a little something for everyone. Safe travels, and CYA SATURDAY! DD

You won't see me until Vegas or the Memorial - I have been living in Georgia for 5 years and 1 day now - that's why you haven't seen me in Cali - you know that - although I wish I was playing there - I loved that Event!

Here is a brief synopsis (based on my somewhat hazy memories):

1. Snapper thinks this was the 30th tournament (no trophy the first year).
2. Weather held up nicely. Overcast but no rain.
3. HB lost some key players but picked up Snowbird Mike Raley (who kicked my butt).
4. Sylmar, Huntington Beach and San Diego were tied at 6-1 at the end of play. HB had beaten SD but lost to Sylmar, and San Diego had beaten Sylmar but lost to HB.

First tie breaker = number of matches won. San Diego got into the finals based on this.
Next tie breaker is heads up. Since Sylmar had beaten HB they got into the finals. HB was not happy since they had beaten San Diego and San Diego had beaten Sylmar (trounced might be more appropriate), but that is how tie-breakers go.

5. San Diego squeaked out a victory in the finals, winning 7-5.

On a personal note, I had a miserable Sunday golf-wise, going 0-3 to end 4-4 for the weekend. Hard to focus when you are partaking in the spirit of the event, however even sloppy golf is fun when you are enjoying it with the tribes. Raley was my traveling partner (Bee y atch), as Wisecup had to pull out at the last minute due to health (which did not stop him from sending racy photos to Russel). He whooped up on me, as did Rex Rogers from Arizona (who putted like a champ and tossed me a couple of token points at the end to ease the pain). Doug Werner got me on the last hole with a good drive, and Ken from Sylmar played solid and steady, beating me 7-6 in the finals (he had me 7-2 with six holes to play but I managed to wake up and deuce out the side to make it respectable).

As always, a great time. My favorite event of the year. Cheers, DD

Saw some video on Facebook that was taken by Indigo Brude. Good stuff. Not sure if it was this year's version or not. All chicks flickin' plastic.
