Here we are already down to 8 hours of daylight and fading fast. The first snow of winter predicted tonight. The house on full heat for a long night in watching the football (soccer - Manchester United v Glasgow Rangers in European Champions League) followed by England V Australia in the cricket - The Ashes to those that know - in the Land Down Under.
So with a few hours to spare am planning my escape from this SAD land. To help me celebrate my recent 30th anniversary of playing DG I am hoping to entice as many of my old playing friends and foes to Texas in April. I will be going to Texas State April 2/3 and the Tim Selinske World Masters April 8-10 which will be an honour, the first time I have been able to take part since his death. We played against each other in the '80's and he is fondly remembered amongst the Europeans that had the opportunity to meet and play with him.
So, to all of you that still have a memory of the Brits making it to the Rose Bowl, to the early days of La Mirada, to when DG was played on the camus at Santa Cruz, to strange events in Fort Collins, Worlds in Huntsville AL, or any other of the trips I made in the 80's and 90's - please come and say HI in April.
Am then planning to visit California for a few weeks and catch up with my West Coast friends who lived in the UK and those I left behind all those years ago. So get in touch - Fernando Brown, Chris Rivera, Ruth Steele-Brown and the rest.
Take care. Winter Well.
