If anyone is available this Saturday morning for a workday, it would be greatly appreciated. I was just informed today that the city dumped a bunch of tree limbs on the mountain right where the box for Champion 8 is. If you can help cut and clear, please come out. Keith will be there by 8:00 to get started. Thanks!

Good news--after looking through the financials approaching the tournament, I can now guarantee a minimum of $4000 added cash. There's a good chance that number could go up to $5000 if everything comes together.

Keith will be at the course later this afternoon to get baskets moved into their round 1 positions. 1 and 2 are moving into their short positions. 3 is moving into the middle position. 7 is moving long left. 14 is moving short, and if we can get the basket out of the sleeve, 17 will be moving short.
On hole 17, there will be OB surrounding the basket in the short position. All of the shule between the short and long pins will be roped off, as will the shule behind the short pin.

Man what a field!!! Gotta thank Greg "The Doc" Browning for all his hard and dedicated efforts for the last three years. Thanks to him and a lot of very good people in the ADGA, we are seeing a great reward here this weekend. Now it's off to see some great disc golf...and after I'm through playing I'll try to watch the other players too. ;)

I heard Double G won in a playoff over Paul U, Nikko 3rd, Brad Williams 4th.
Brad said he had the lead with 4 holes to play,,, I'm guessing he tried to get in the clubhouse before it was over.
Now its on to Florida for Clearwater and Players Cup then back to Tejas for 2 more big events.

Scores are posted.
GG won in the playoff over Ulibarri on the third hole. Paul exhibited one of the greatest moments of sportsmanship I have ever witnessed in disc golf. On the first playoff hole, both players' second shots were close. Garrett was out and on a 15' putt, he hit dead center chain and the disc dropped in the basket. However, what happened next I have never seen before--the disc hit the bottom of the cage and bounced out. Not wanting to win on the flukiest of shots, Paul threw his putt into the dirt and both players finished out with a 4.
On the next hole Paul got into trouble on the drive and had to pitch out into the fairway. GG's drive was laying nicely, and he threw his approach to about 20' away. Paul's upshot was parked, but GG missed the putt to win, forcing a third hole.
They guys played Hole 1, which is a 594' hole that has a dogleg right into a small opening in the trees about 80' from the basket. Paul threw a great drive that landed about 20' short of the opening. GG uncorked an anhyzer that glided perfectly through the opening and left him putting for 2 from about 35' out. Paul's upshot landed about 10' behind GG's drive, and Paul attempted a long jump putt that fell short, leaving him laying three by the basket. GG missed the long putt, but had a drop-in 3 to secure the win.
Great playoff, and great tournament all the way around. Thanks to all the players who took part, and thanks to all of the volunteers, staff, spotters, and local club members who helped make this happen. We managed to add $5200 to the purse, paying out $1500 and $1000 to 1st and 2nd MPO (field of 35), $460 to 1st in FPO (field of 4), $770 to 1st in MPM (field of 21), and $545 to 1st in MPG (field of 16).

That tee shot on #1 in the playoff was amazing. To go 500+ feet and slip into an opening about 40 ft. wide is unreal. Garrett also had the longest throw from the "Mountain" this year, and counting placement, it was the best throw ever made on the hole in the 20 year history of the event. This was definitely one of the top three VPOs ever, and it was very uplifting to receive all the accolades from so many of the great players that came here to play. Thanks goes out to all of you that made the time and distance to be here. Most of all, though, the ADGA gives a special thanks to Greg B. for taking on the tedious and wearing tasks of pulling this all together. We love ya, Greg.

Oh yeah, if you're wondering why I (Skip Maxwell) didn't finish the last round when I was so close to cashing, I wanted to but my legs and ankles didn't. Captain Snap, Brian Harrison, and Jim Dart were all very understanding when I asked if they'd consider it rude to pull out. Snap and Brian are two of the long time originals as many of you know, and it was a real honor and pleasure to walk my home course with them.
