Actually just got back from McClain. Grass is long. San Antonio Parks and Recreation knows there is a tournament out there and will be mowing soon. They couldn't mow it because of the recent rains we've had. I'll let everyone know when it has been mowed.

joni and i played it sunday morning. very playable. definately not as muddy as i anticipated. there were only a couple of spots that were slippery.

I e-mailed the councilman from the district and he forwarded it to the parks dept. They assure me that it will be mowed by the McClain open. This is the reply I received:

Mr. Castillo:

My contact in the Parks & Recreation just got back to me and assured me that they will have the park ready for your event. She apologized for the delay in mowing, but the rain last week has put them slightly behind schedule.

Great news on that front ...

The course has held the rains the past month VERY well. As of right now the course is 100% playable. The grass is high, but the parks department is going to have it mowed before the event (they had to wait for the course to dry out a little). Some of the trails between holes are a little over grown, but the club will be out there to get the course in the best shape possible before the event.

There is water in the creek on 5, 6, 14 (this will probably subside), 16, 17, & 18. Oh and with all this rain, the rough is difficult and the course is playing very true. It should be a good fair challenge!

I'd do it Friday but I'll be at ACL all day, rocking to Phish all night, driving back to SA, sleeping a few hours, IV of red Bull, then tourney time! My game should be spot on.

They started mowing course. Looking good. They also replaced the 2 baskets that were stolen (practice and 10). They just forgot to put the actual part that the disc rests in. That should be taken care of Monday.

FYI ... I incorrectly setup the tourney on titledisc and 5 people did not have the extra $10 fee added for non-PDGA members. These people will still need to pay $10 when they check in on Saturday (or any time prior to then). Sorry for the inconvenience.

Course looks good. Parks and Rec still hasn't mowed Hole #17 but it is playable as is. Bring your straight flying discs.:D Fairways are mowed but rough is rough...stay on fairway and you'll be ok.;) We are almost maxed out with a total of 66 players. That means only 6 spots left.:eek:

San Antonio usually has folks willing to play Mixed... you may be able to talk some into it and have your own division!

You are in Wade. We are now FULL and I will update players list later. Waiting on some info from players. There are usually some spots that come open on the morning of the tournament so I will start a waiting list if anyone wants to be placed on it.

Played McClain this morning. The course is looking great! New bridge and steps on hole 5! It is daming up the water a bit more so it makes 6 play tougher! The parks dept. was out in full force installing the practice basket and 10. As I was leaving there were about 5 city trucks pulling in with mowers and equipment. It should be in prime form for the BMO!

Just wanted to Thank the Players, Sponsors, Helpers, just everyone who made the BMO possible. I had a great time.

Joni Smith (Int Women) hit the only tournament Ace and took home $385 for it. She almost aced the same hole again in the 2nd round (hit chains). I think this was her 1st ace. Congrats to her and all the winners.
