Well I am the TD for this event:D and I have to say that last year we did have over 40 teams sign up and we have a blast. We had teams from San Antonio, Austin, and even a few from Dallas area. We get a good turnout for our mixed division and because of the mixed division we get a lot of the wives/girlfriends out to play and they have enjoyed it so much that we have been able to start a women's mini here is San Angelo. This is just a fun, easy going tourney that I promise will not disappoint. I hope to see some new faces out there and I know at Texas Womens we handed out a free entry to this tourney, not sure who won it but I sure hope whoever did comes to play!
Let me know if you have any questions!:D

Once again this year we are getting our Trophies from Disc Diva. I think Kathy does excellent work and you can do different things for your trophies by getting things people can actually use instead of just sticking in a corner somewhere. Don't want to say what the trophies are, they are different, but you can also use them daily if you wish........

Just a reminder that the deadline for pre-registration is Sunday, Sept 12th, this is the only way you will receive a tournament t-shirt. We will have CTP's for each division at all 3 courses with a disc for each winner! Going to be lots of fun!

I've never played in San Angelo. Are these courses relatively close to each other? Also, is there good camping nearby? thanks in advance!

Glad to hear you are giving S.A. disc golf a go! 2 of the courses are very close to each other, I'm talking not 5 minutes apart. The 3rd course that will be used this weeekend(south concho) is maybe 10 or so minutes away from the "base course" which is Picnic Bend. San Angelo is fairly small, you can get just about anywhere in town in about 15 minutes.
As for camping, you've got a few options. The best probably being out at the course (middle concho) used for The Crush which will be in March.http://www.texassportfishing.com/Region_1/Lake_Nasworthy.htm The only thing I'd warn you about is there are no showers....but the lake is right there so you can always jump in if you want. It will take you about 15 minutes to get from there to Picnic Bend and/or Brentwood and maybe 15-25 to South Concho depending on which way you go. There is also a State Park that does have showers, but it's a little further away from the courses being used.(http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/spdest/findadest/parks/san_angelo/#fac) I'd say probably 15-20 minutes depending on which side of the state park you stay on. There are 2 enterances, the south one would be the closer. There is also a KOA just past the turnoff to the middle concho park course that I'm sure is pretty nice camping as far as bathrooms and showers, but it is not on the water.
Let me know if you have any questions about anything else. Or need any more info. Otherwise, look forward to meeting you Saturday!
nice up
