Explain the name. I'm imagining a bear trap and some gnawing to stay alive.

Temple was called Tanglefoot first....something to do with muddy streets and booze...the name was changed after the church folks came to town...the railroad founded the town and most of the town was bars and boarding houses(with a few "professional" ladies on staff)

James, as old as you are I can't believe you didn't know that one. Certainly you've been tanglefooted there before. If I can get my back into shape I will play this one...if there are still spots left by then.

Played Lions Park on Tuesday. I did not even know what to do with Hole 6. Talked to Ron Jaden and he said we will be skipping Holes 2-6. Playing a modified shot from behind Hole 2's tee box to the basket for Hole 7. And the playing 2 added holes around the pond. Is all that accurate? Is that 19 holes?

Anyways. Im trying to motivate some people to get to Temple this sunday.

We are playing a modified 18 hole layout with 3 new holes...maps and course rules will be on the scorecards..MJ

for those of you looking to practice the new layout...the following is from the Temple boys...

We will have the course set up Saturday the 4th by 11:00. We will remove the temp baskets around 5:00 or 6:00 pm. Baskets will be back on the course early Sunday morning. Flex start doubles from 11:00am to 3:00 pm on Saturday the 4th. $20.00 per team, AM or OPEN. Cash payout - $4.00 per team to TDGA. Picnic tables near basket 21.

Mitch... The Gold's are waiting to hear from an out of town guest. We won't know until Saturday morning if he'll make it, would there be time to sign up on Saturday or would you prefer we do it Sunday morning?

i have a buddy who lives there. the wife and i were heading to cove this weekend anyways. just so happens there is a tournament in the area!!!

we were planning on hitting up temple early saturday morning (i know we'll miss the temp holes) and then killeen on the way back to his house.

if we can scrounge up the money, he'll play sunday too. otherwise, i have a caddy.

Temple was fun today. Too bad about 2-7, but the alternates were fun, and the day was cooler than most. Thanks to Mitch, Des, and the whole Temple crew for all the hard work!
