Obviously this d-bag just wanted an excuse to talk about himself, but such trash talk on about our sport should not go without a reply. I think it should come from someone who represents the TDSA (Treat? Wise?). Sounds like he was at the Crow Creek after the Crow Throw (that's my guess anyway). Since this old coot is so proud of the civic responsibility displayed by "real" golfers in the '60's, any reply should mention that the fact that the very tournament the "obnoxious" disc golfers had just played, in fact raised funds for charity (I forget which one). Not to mention past events that have benefited the SPCA, the Owasso Band, etc...

Please don't write to the TW unless you can keep it civil.

That guy also forgot to mention that in the 60's at Southern Hills, with those golfers that had so called "style and taste", they didn't allow African Americans to play at their country club. That's pretty tasteless in my book and if those are the people he wants to consider better than today's disc golfers he can go hang out with them, have at it.
I'll take foul mouthed people over bigots any day.

This is a good opportunity to promote the sport!

Dude don't you know that this George guy doesn't exist and is actually just Woody trying to promote more DG attendance at Crow Creek?:)

And since when does Wise REPRESENT the TDSA?

Maybe back in the Flintstone days but not anymore.:p

The readers responses in the Tulsa World comment section were 100% against the individuals position.

The fact that he reached back to the 60's and mentioned Nicklaus probably means he was drifting back to a forgotten time, a time that probably was more enjoyable than his current status in life.

I think the blast, and some were just that, he received from the respondents probably put him in his place..

So far there have been 25 responses to his post, only one was sympathetic from the perspective of he is probably an old guy living in a time gone by..

I think he was spanked enough!!!

Isn't that the reason why people smoke pot and drink adult beverages?:)

Who can forget the good old days of...

Not really. It just reminds me of the type of mentality of someone who would follow this guy to Jonestown and drink the coolaid.

Where the hell do you find these guys?

You grow them in "pods" in your backyard and fertilize them with the pooh from your pugs or what???

I really feel sorry for the little guy if you're the only hero figure he has to look up to.:(

Well if you did THAT then someone should call your parents, a sister, or a brother, and they'll come to take you back home on the bus.:)

And don't trust in Treat too much either. Not because he's a bad guy but do you really want someone that looks like Mayor Dewey Bartlett (who the cops hate and is currently under investigation) to get on TV and tell the public that Disc Golfers are not the stereotype the public views us as???

If anybody gets on there then I vote Wayne or Jose Mendoza!!!:)

At least those guys are not wanted in five states for insurance fraud.

There you go everybody. Evidence straight from the horse's mouth.

I can't believe any of you really believed the mini fees Wise collects at his minis would actually produce a bench or a trash can.

I didnt know two guns worked at southern hills? lol
Makes you wonder what the conversations are like at the country club that he doesnt get to drink at?
I like how he mentioned the games greats of 40 yrs ago. He did not mention that he sat and drank with them after the event he just saw them during the event...nowdays he would have seen daly drinking it up and tiger at night trips...
People and attitudes were different then though...

But i guess tulsa DG'ers if your in the bar having fun and you see a old guy drinking alone, invite him over or send him a beer next time....

Did you not see trash cans during the event? Did you not have a nice chair to sat on?

You don't have a clue how much of my $$ has gone out there.

Centennial will have the nicest kiosk in town also. Just waiting for the weather to cool down. I'm donating the materials and a wood craftsmans is going to build it.

As for the trash cans, I have no controll. At this point I'm gratefull they always have them out for events. The benches are another story. At $500 a pop, don't plan on seeing any soon.

I can get these for $404 not including sipping.

That is all that is needed so sell the worthless horses, buy a drum for your woman to ride, and go fleece a few old ladies on some insurance scams for the cash to buy them.

Once you get the benches out there I'm sure I'll think of something else to gripe at you about because that is why God put me on this earth!!!:D

I can't believe I actually had to sacrifice a rib for someone like you that can't understand the meaning of "OBEY"!!!

I can tell you this, My Grandfather was a 30yr. Member at Southern Hills. Some of the language they used to throw around would make me blush. And this was in the clubhouse when he would invite me to have lunch.

This reader is just old and ****** off that he cannot return to his glory days.
