it's that time again.

I just set up the registration on Titledisc.com (http://titledisc.com/node/3493), but screwed it up:confused:

I sent an email to Josh to please fix it so you can register.

Anyways, a few small changes this year.

Because 2 of the Temp baskets were stolen this month, we are only going to play the regular 18 holes for both courses. This has changed, I am back to 21 holes per round due to popular demand

This will not limit the field in that if we actually get more than 180 players (we had 218 in 2007) I will split the tournament into 3 flights like the old Carrollton Charity Cup Classic. (or 4 flights if we have to) With 21 holes, we can have 210 players before we split to 3 flights

This will help the rounds go by a little quicker with smaller fields.

All Am's will get a players package.

All Pro's who register BEFORE August 31st will get a Players Package.

More on the tournament including sponsors updates later.

I will know more later, but talked with Scott Nelson today and we may have a deal on the T-shirts this year. More on that later.

He also said he would make some 1st place trophies. (Scott makes those glass trophies for me with Brice Longerbone doing the etching) Scott now does etching on glass too, he is making all the 1st place trophies and the T-shirts

Sponsorship is starting to come in.

Looks like it is time to sign up for the Carrollton Open.

BTW, any Pro player who pre-registers will get a $15 players package. The catch, you have to pre-register in August.

I would like to have some input.

I have though about not playing the 3 added holes on each course. I only have 5 baskets and would have to put out a temp each day (easy to do really) so that is not the issue.

So here is the question

18 or 21 holes per round (the tournament is everyone play 4 rounds)

Aug 19 2010, 02:09 PM
Leave the extra holes in, but only have foursomes on each card.

If you only had planned to have foresomes anyway, consider leaving the holes out, unless the event fills far in advance.

Pizza God
Aug 27 2010, 09:42 PM
I only go to fivesomes when there are 4's on every card.

the tee shirts are in and being printed. It is not too late to get on the back of the T-shirt for the $100 sponsorship. They are being made just down the street and are in. They are printing the front now and will be doing the back when we are ready.

As of right now I have

Discraft
Innova
Mr. Jim's
Tri Tone Records
Keith Machen

And a few others I need to get a hold of (hopefully)

Add

Houston Flying Disc Society

and

Wes Fox

To the T-shirt sponsorship list.

I also got some plastic from Randy Graywolff to the CTP round. Speaking of which, as per Carrollton tradition, the final round has a per card CTP usually worth $50 or more. Most of these discs come from the players.

If you have any plastic you don't throw (stuff you have won in other CTP's or just don't throw that disc anymore) please consider sponsoring the CTP round. The more the better. I may have a CE Roc again this year, who knows......

Well the 2010 Carrollton Open may be able to set one record this year.

In 2007, the year we had 218 players, there were 7 Grand Masters.

As of right now, there are 6 Grand Masters signed up.

One more will tie the record, 2 more would break the record.

Porter is marked and is actually in pretty good shape considering all the rain we had this week. I actually had dry tees for every hole already.

Jason Hull is out at Jimmy Porter doing some repair work (try to make some of the real tee boxes playable) and edging some of the high grass.

As soon as I submit this, I am heading over to Greenbelt to mark the course and start up Flex Tee off Doubles.

come on out, the courses are looking great and it looks like the weather will be great this weekend.

Considering the amazingly large amount of rainfall you received last week, how were course conditions?

Actually, they were in VERY GOOD shape.

They were actually dryer than they are in the spring.

They only muddy spots were the low spot that hole water all spring.

We used the regular tees on nearly every hole. The only ones I moved were because of ruts, or because the tee got totally washed out and the ground was not even enough for a good tee off area.

In all, when I marked the courses on Friday, I marked all dry spots.
