Since even the Charlotte disc golf club members didn't get this info until today, I thought I would at least share the info here. Just like 2009, qualifiers for captain spots were earned from the following tournaments that have already been completed. I'm not sure if these individuals will be notified or not, so if you know anyone on the list, let them know!
The following tournaments were qualifiers:
The Earlewood Classic, 3 spots
The Charlotte Amateur Championship, 3 spots
USADGC, 3 spots
PDGA ADGWC, 5 spots
The Minnesota Majestic - Am, 3 spots
The following upcoming events are confirmed qualifying tournaments for the 2010 US Doubles Championship;
The Mad City Open, 3 spots
The Dynamic Discs Open, 3 spots
The Twisted Flyer Open, 3 spots
Any questions please contact Bill Jacobsen at 704-577-4770

Dates for the event are October 1st and 3rd. There will be no rounds on Saturday 10/2 in lieu of the qualifying day for USDGC. So there will be a day off inbetween rounds. As of now, there is no identification of what courses will be played, although it would be logical that since people are going to want to practice at Winthrop, that the dubs round would be 10/1. I have heard mention of Nevins and Eastway parks being used for the Charlotte rounds.

In years past that was how it went. Also there are probable teams composed of players whom have both qualified at different tournies, so that is another way bumps may occur. Not sure how they will determine which spot is used and which people get the bump though. I'll post when I find out.

All the spots not claimed by a certain date (unknown at this time) will go up for a first come first serve entry at a date to be determined.

Hey Trey, you can rest easy buddy, cuz you are in!
Earlewood: Scott Wallace, Daniel Swenson, Patrick May (No bumps in lieu of it being the first qualifier)
USADGC: Wiggy, Leif Swenson, Ricky Wysocki (Robert Martinek and Walton Satcher tied so unknown how they would give the bump)
CAC: Josh Plummer, McAlpine, Brad Ramsey (Wiggy qualified prior to this tourney, so Brad gets in, PP in the bump spot)
AM Worlds: Brandon Parsons, Trey Williams, David Nelson, Aaron Trimmer, Cody Kirkland (Wiggy already qualified, Nick Connell, Matt Travis and Neville Collett all tied so unknown who gets the bump)
Minn. Majestic: Zephaniah Baer, Nils Nordgren, Adam Foust and Mike Henry tied (tie breaker undetermined, so default player gets the bump)
The worlds acronym from the initial post was Bill's!

No Renny this year Nate. You now get the opportunity to shine on the CDGC's two new courses, Nevin and Eastway.
The Oak Hollow Open is now a US Dubs qualifier and will have 3 spots awarded.

If your not a fan of worst shot, now is the chance to advocate for it to be removed. After the first year complaints and after some people openly admitting to playing best shot last year instead, I would have assumed it had been removed due to the disregarded integrity of the competition. So far it is going to happen.

Worst shot is a format that we rarely get to play these days, so personally I would like to see it stay.
The solution is to assign an impartial judge to each group while they are in the worst shot segment. That would mean seven judges. (I added an extra to float back once "thier" group finishes the segment.)

I like that idea Jay. I'll forward it along to Bill the TD.

At Texas Teams they do a 6 6 6 format, 6 holes or worst shot, 6 of best, & 6 of alternate. That seems to limit the complaining.

Not that I am going to play this event, but to me worst shot should always be included in a doubles tourney....that's where the seperation from a good team and a 1 man show really turns up. That and alternate shot...

Unless you are playing pro there is no need to be concerned with worse shot. Ams
will not be playing it.

Talked with the TD.
Nevin - Longs
Hornets Nest Version (short)
Eastway's Longest version that is complete.
Eastway's are under construction so, I guess, everyone will have level playing field as far as practice time.
