Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls....

As of last night, Haikey Creek has two TD's...

The Man, the Legend, the one and only Wayne Forest has asked me to come on board and get back into course-running and mini-hosting. I am excited to say that I am now part of Haikey Creek.

Things to look for on south Garnett in the coming months:

1) new tee-signs with new graphics and new nicknames AND the return of the rules sign by hole 1.
2) sleeves for "casual play" and "tournament play" on some holes, allowing the casual golfer and us tournament golfers to all enjoy the course.
3) some minis will have player-packs.. and they wont be your everyday player packs. Think back to Wise and Centennial.

I'm very excited to be back in the swing of things as far as TD'ing is concerned. If you have any suggestions for me, please let me know.

Everyone:

I have been listening to comments made by a multitude of people since i became haikey's TD.

What I would LOVE is to get some written feedback from the folks that play the course. What do you like?
What do you dislike?
Do you ever feel that your life is in danger on a certain hole? :)

I want to take these and any suggestions and form a small committee that will assist me in making the course better for players of all skill levels. I want to hear from novices, pros, and everyone in between. We have the land and the resources to make that course fun and challenging for all.

Please send me your input! pdga15288@gmail.com is my email address and i welcome all forms of praise and criticism.

Sklim, you have a great course now. The only suggestion that I would have is to re-pole all of the baskets and add 36 placements. This would allow you to accomodate any type of player or event, in less than 1 hour. You could go from a little easier than the current configuration to a course that would rival anything in the region. It would also allow to to address any current hole placement concerns and fix them all at once.

While the costs of this change over isn't cheap, it would make Haikey the best and most versitle course in the area.

36 anchors - $792
18 collars - $216
18 poles - $630
40 bags concrete - $115

You may even be able to get some discounts, if not, it comes to just under $1,800. AFter that for a another $22 each, you can put a hole anywhere you want.;

great idea Wise.

if you had about 25 events at haikey per year (minis, tournaments) and had 1 or 2 mulligans available at each event for 1 dollar a piece. You could cover the cost in 2 years of running the course if not faster with mulligans alone.

That would also exclude any donations you may request, or any additional fundraising you might want to do specifically for the course.

Also, within the next two years, we may have some more options available from the OKDGF as far as funding goes.

So I think adding multiple pins would be a perfect idea for a course like haikey. Of course that is just two men's opinions.

Mohawk is another in need of the collar system. It was originaly intended to have them but we ran out of time to clear extra greens and fairways.

By changing a course to this type of set up you do not limit yourself to one layout for one type of player. For a Major event, you could have pros, jrs or ams on the same course on the same day. As soon as one division plays it, move it around. If we had 3-4 courses with multiple placements, we multiply the number of courses we have right now.

Imagine, 2 MClures, 2 haikeys and 4 Mohawks, (Black could have even more with the white tees and multiple placements.) And throw in 2 layouts at Centennial for the Am divisions.
All that and we still have Hunter, Dovillio and Chandler.

bravo

mohawk could use collar and water control and bug control and trash cans and benches and bag holders and disc divers...........yard work and tree work........

I have been giving serious thought to this since day one when Wayne and I had to move hole 5 200 feet shorter to keep the joggers from griping about people throwing their discs too close to the path. That hole used to be a tough 3 that required two well-placed shots.. now it's a hyzer-birdie for anyone who can throw 300 feet.

Some holes wouldn't need to be moved at all, and some holes could benefit greatly by having more than 2 placements, very similar to what we have in Owasso.

Hole 1 - have the current pin be "long", and put another pin about 50 feet closer but guarded by a tree.
Hole 2 - current pin = "short", put a pin around the corner to the north.
Hole 3 - relocate basket to be better guarded by trees
Hole 4 - possible relocation of teepad, but most likely leaving this hole alone.
Hole 5 - current pin = "short", place sleeve where the hole originally went, possibly closer to the bush, for the "long"
Hole 6 - current spot = "short", add sleeve deeper into woods bringing the wall of trees to the right of the current pin placement more into play.
Hole 7 - current pin = "short", add another pin 40-50 feet further back and possibly away from the trail.
Hole 8 - Possibly add a second sleeve about the same distance from the pad as the current one, but harder to get a straight shot through the tree line.
Hole 9 - current pin would be "long" and add a "short" by those two giant trees about 80 feet closer.
Hole 10 - adding 1-2 extra sleeves to allow for different routes, all about the same distance.
Hole 11 - I personally think this hole is awesome and doesnt need to be changed. :)
Hole 12 - add a second pin on the edge of the hill, guarded by trees.
Hole 13 - lengthen by 60-80 feet for a "long", leaving current spot the "short"
Hole 14 - Add 1-2 extra sleeves all in a row, so you still have to shoot through the tree line, you just have to aim left, right, or center.
Hole 15 - only thing i see to add here that would be beneficial is a concrete oval "drop zone" for those people who lose a disc and use their 3 minutes.
Hole 16 - current pin = "short", add a long pin further down and to the right, allowing for shots to travel straight down the ditch. would be interesting with a lot of water on the course. :)
Hole 17 - LONGER TEE PAD, first and foremost. also adding a couple of extra pins scattered throughout the trees.
Hole 18 - leave as-is for the most part, maybe a slight relocation of the basket to the left or right. maybe add a second pin really close to the road for big tourneys to make OB a big concern when going for a long putt.

These are what the 900-rated golfer (me) thinks would be cool. I wanna hear from the 800s and the 1000s, too though. and more 900s. Haikey will be very different in a year.

one thing I would like to stress when contemplating making new pins or new changes to ANY of the courses in town.

one thing the "pros" or higher rated players do not really like are baskets that to increase scoring variation are placed in the middle or close to groups of trees. in my personal opinion, and that of other players I know and have talked to while traveling is... you want to do your best to make a course difficult, without adding a "luck" factor.

Say player 1 drives your new pin placement perfectly down the fairway, and within 20 feet of the basket that you just moved right next to a bush, and he has no putt, the next player throws almost an identical shot, that lands 5 feet shorter and has a straddle putt around the bush. This kind of variation in scoring is extremely unfair and brings in a lot of luck. A major complaint I heard from the AM worlds courses, and some courses I have played is when you put as basket behind a wall of trees halfway down the fairway, it brings in luck, because not even kenny climo can pure a 4 foot gap 200-250 feet down the fairway every time, too much luck is involved.

Blackhawk is a great upper level course because it has LINES and gaps that are open all the way down, or require the gap to be hit off of the teeshot, not half way or all the way down the fairway.

This is just a general input from me, because it is a pet pieve of mine and a common complaint of other "pro" players.

not trying to criticize your options for hole changes, just giving you the input you asked for

EDIT: Just to make sure I am creating some constructive ideas as well, another option to make a hole more difficult would be to make another teepad further back (like Blackhawk). This is of course only applicable to certain locations, but it creates an entirely different hole without even moving the basket.

This would be a good way to keep from moving baskets behind trees etc, and having a new teepad inside of a grouping of trees that you had to hit a gap off of the teepad instead of trying to pick which 3 foot gap you were going to hit 200 feet down the fairway

slim___15288
Aug 17 2010, 01:15 PM
my goal isnt to make a hole "un-puttable", because believe me, i hate that too. (my general rule of thumb is allow 8-10 feet clear space between the bucket and any obstructions.)

Take hole 3 for example. you can throw a gentle turnover with your putter and have a chance to ring it every time, or throw a hard hyzer to the right (for a right handed player) and have it cut and skip hard to the left for the same shot. moving that basket 10 feet to the right, for example, doesnt "close off" a line, it just "alters" it. like hole 8 right now --- it's a 140 foot placement shot through a tree line. righties have a 7-8 foot gap to hit, and if they hit it with an overstable midrange, they can ace it. if you simply slide the bucket 30 feet to the right, it could possibly bring the OB road into play, and also make hitting that 7-8 foot gap in a turnover harder to do. its still doable, but you can still take a 3 on an easy hole just the same as now.

hole 15 kinda fits the mold of what youre talking about right now with that bush. you can pure a drive and not have any look at the bucket that is "within the circle" because you hyzered into the jungle wall.

mitch park in edmond had a lot of holes like that, where you could be in the circle but not have a clear putt.

my ideal course setup would be to have 6 holes that give a "moderately easy" chance to birdie, have 6 holes that are very "tough but birdie-able", and have 6 holes that require two very well-placed shots to have a chance at 3, like holes 1, 9, and 17. i have gotten 3's on all those holes with my limited skill, but usually take 4's and sometimes 5's on them.

pdorries
Aug 17 2010, 01:40 PM
yeah, I wasn't meaning to criticize your placements individually, because if you moved hole 8 to the right more, there is still a reasonable gap to hit, that is totally cool. Initially I can't think of many places at haikey that have what I am talking about, you aren't too at risk there.

hole 15 at haikey is fine! that bush requires you to throw a shot around it to be rewarded with a birdie, not many who just blast the bush are given a break by being clean on the other side. You can get a putt from the left side of the bush, but the turnover around the bush is still a very executable type shot.

my beef is with holes you walk up to and go, what is the line here? where are you supposed to throw? meaning it is wide open off the tee and then a basket blocked by a mass of trees. you see where I'm coming from. That's why haikey is good! there isn't much of that even available at haikey because the trees are so far apart, fair lines. so excuse me for chiming in on your haikey post, but I just wanted to throw that out there for people to think about and read

Hole 5 at hunter, if you choose to go across the water in the summertime is honestly pretty silly, am I correct? You have to really hit a tiny line in order to even be rewarded with a chance to get the birdie, FORTUNATELY there is the alternate route to the left side, that gives the option of an executable par opportunity and you can avoid being lucky going for a 3 or 4 foot gap in the middle, 250 feet away from you. I am not saying there isn't a possibilty of you trying to hit one of those gaps and actually make it up there for a birdie, but if everyone was forced to play a MANDO up the middle on that hole, and throw across the water, it would be a silly hole because then you bring so much luck into play. But that opening on the left side makes that hole great! If you NEED to try for a birdie, basically the only way is to rip it up the middle, but there is an option for a well executed par there.

slim___15288
Aug 17 2010, 02:02 PM
if i make a pin placement, you are gonna be able to see the line to throw (maybe two lines) from the pad. i dont like "plinko" holes where you walk up, close your eyes, and pray that you find some obscure line. Remember, i am a 900 rated guy and i think like a 900 rated guy. i wanna have a pretty good idea of what to do when i step on the pad.

and dont worry about ruffling me! this is exactly what i was asking for! i really appreciate your input! makes the whole thing more fun if you ask me.. :)

Not a big turnout tonight, looks like a lot of folks stayed home recovering from Okie Dubs. Thanks to all of you who did make it out tonight.

Tonight we played 3 holes differently: 18 to 8's basket, 8 to 18's basket with a double-mando, and hole 14's tee-pad was moved about 120 feet back. I left all of the flags and yellow tape out there if you want to try this format the rest of the week. It was fun! on 14, however, be careful of the tree limbs that were cut down over the past week. they can "git-cha" :)

A friendly note from your haikey Creek TD...

What a month! Thanks to all who came out and supported the minis at Haikey and at Chandler when I was there. Additionally, thanks to all who participated in the "bubble gum mulligan" program. My goal is to raise $400 by the end of September, and so far we're at $167. My plans with the monies raised are to retro-fit baskets 2, 5, and 6 with locking collars and sleeves and make them changeable. I'm also planning on reconfiguring those three holes, as well as holes 7, 8, 14, and 18 between now and the Oklahoma Open.

That being said, September minis run by yours truly will still offer mulligans, but will be a different format than the "bubble gum".

Have I piqued your curiosity?

See you Thursday. :)

I am going to be spending the next two weekends out at Haikey re-vamping the course for the tournament. I need all the help I can get. Help consists of, but is not limited to: able bodies, shovels, wheelbarrows, and pickup trucks. If you can miss the awesome events being held the next two weekends and can provide any or all of the aforementioned items, please leave me a message here on the board or send me a text with your name to my cell number , 918-852-6543 918-852-6543 . I will coordinate times with you by the end of the week.
I am changing holes 2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 12, 13, 14, and 18 for this tournament. That's an awful lot of hole-digging, equipment-moving, dirt-tamping, and grunt-labor. Thanks in advance for your help.

weather permitting, i'm going to be starting work around 9am saturday morning and working until dark, then rinsing and repeating on sunday, and the following weekend until i get the equipment where i need it. i'm borrowing my buddy's truck because shovels and wheelbarrows dont fit well in a jetta. :)

then comes my wife and i walking the tape (stretching a tape over a non-smooth terrain will provide more accurate distances than a rolling wheel) we will walk every hole to get accurate footages, as well as get footages to certain trees and other items on the course that will help judge distance.

then i create the new tee-signs, complete with all-new nicknames, and get them laminated and re-installed in the frames. this will be done after work one day.

hole 2 is going back around the corner and cannot be seen from the tee, so we'll have to laser to a tree. i was planning on doing this with the tape anyway, and then including small numbers on the signs showing distances to large trees that are easily identifiable on the course.

hole 6 will be in a heavily wooded area, meaning the laser could easily target a tree instead of the basket.

plus, if two people are using the tape and pulling it tight, then it will give an accurate reading. the laser will give you an accurate reading, but it doesnt tell you precisely what you're measuring to. with the tape i know that one edge of the tape is toughing the front of the teebox and the other end is touching the pole. thats the only reason i wanted to do it that way.

Hole 2 is now around the corner to the North.
Hole 5 has a new tee location and a new basket location. 509 feet.
Hole 6 has a new tee location and a new basket location. 404 feet.
We have a new Hole 7 in the trees just north of Hole 6. 201 feet.
Hole 8 has a pro tee and an amateur tee. 456 / 354 feet, respectively.
Hole 9 was stretched back to the west. 280 feet. Mando removed.
Hole 13 plays from old 12's tee. Basket moved to the west. 606 feet.
Hole 14 has a pro tee as well as the current amateur tee. pro tee plays 691 feet.
Hole 18 was shortened a bit to make room for 9's lengthening. 325 feet.

all of these footages were rolled off and will be verified by laser sighting during the next few days (meaning they are subject to change.) Number plates between holes 7-12 are inaccurate and will be updated within the next week as well. New tee signage wll be in place by 10-24-10.

IF Basket were set along-the-crown toward that ditch , it also adds more skill-required for near-basket-shots with a sloping green ... just my opinion ...

It is a tough hole to find a good placement. I am also a little concerned about the current placement. The reasons you mentioned Wayne, plus... it is an enticing play for a righty to throw a big hyzer down 11's fairway, skipping over towards hole 10's basket, leaving a wide open shot to the basket and less risky than going through the low ceiling middle gap.

The only problem with leaving the basket on the side hill as you are suggesting wayne, it makes the hole easier to try to throw down into the ditch on the left, and then throw an open shot to the basket, avoiding most of the trees on the way to the basket.

I'm not sure of the best solution. I love the pin where it is, but it seems like it might cause some problems? Maybe it is worth just trying out for a couple weeks until the OO is over.

mordecai shot a 51 on our first time through, and that was without playing a birdie hole #7 (we forgot about it and just turned around and went to hole 8). The new layout is definitely tougher.

my favorite of the new additions/changes is definitely hole 6, awesome hole.

Well, I got to play the new Haikey this afternoon. I enjoyed the course as a whole. It's definitely tougher by a stroke or two. I was able to pop off a 49 with a silly bogey on the new hole 9. I would say the course is playing around 3 strokes harder than it was before. I think there will be an 7 or 8 in the OO.

Opinions:
Hole #2 - Great. There will now be few birds on this guy and a few bogeys too.
Hole #5 - Good choice on teeing area and pin location. I like the options of the right-lefty lines.
Hole #6 - I like this hole. Tough tee shot and a tougher green.
New Hole #7 - This is a should be birdie, but there are gonna be a few folks that don't throw a good drive and are upset about missing it. But I'm glad we were able to get a couple holes utilizing those trees at the end of the park.
New Hole #8 - Solid. This is a drive that you have to get on to get a birdie.
New Hole #9 - This hole is blah to me. I'm glad there is not a mando on this hole.
New Hole #13 - This is a good 3. This hole does have issues as stated by others.
Hole #18 - I don't like the change. It was a solid birdie, and now it is a must get birdie.

Now for my opinions as a whole. The course is better. It is harder overall. And as a pro in the open division, I want our courses to be as difficult as possible. The front 9 is much better. Some really good holes and couple must get birdies. But now #7 is a must get with pucker factor. The back 9 is mostly the same which I thought was a really tough back stretch to a course. If you hadn't gotten your birdies already, you were going to have to throw some really good shots to get any more.

The new hole 9 isn't a bad hole, I just like having a the old 18. 18 is now dinker hole. I would take out hole 9 completely and put back in holes 12 and 13. These two holes were difficult birdies that were rewarded with good tee shots. Now you have a par 4 that has issues. The low ceiling off the tee isn't really an option if you are going to try and throw a 400+ foot shot off the tee. So that means you are either taking the left line(rollers for a righty) or you are taking the right line. This is an issue, like Paul has already pointed out. Once you get off the tee, you are in the best part of the hole. The pin location creates a very difficult second shot, which I really like. But as Wayne stated, there will be issues with 'pic-a-nickers', etc. You don't want to move the pin to the ditch because then you can play the ditch all the way and it makes for a simple birdie 3.

But like I said, the course is more difficult than before, and I like that. Great job Slim and crew! Y'all did an outstanding job and I'm excited to use this course for the OO!

I would take out hole 9 completely and put back in holes 12 and 13.

That's actually not that bad of an idea. wont happen between now and the 30th, but it's definitely a possibility.

My thoughts behind 18 being where it is was mainly to get the 140-foot hole off the course, and moving it westward caused it to encroach on current 18.

I have several ideas for things to do next spring to tweak this and fix the issues:

- move the tunnel hole's basket to the east a few feet and moving 18's tee position backwards, making a similarly-distanced hole than the 18 i took out. reason for moving tunnel's basket would be to scoot the "main" fairway of that hole away from where folks would tee for 18. it would also be moving the tee for 18 closer to 17's basket.

also, think of how many holes are "deuce or die" now: 3, 7, 9, 16, 18.
how many holes are >500' now: 1, 2, 5, 13, 14, 17.

i tried to balance it out. you can still easily goof up and take 3's on the "birdie" holes, and you can make the same mistakes on the long holes and walk away with 5's.

but once again, i am not regis philbin, and this is not the final configuration. :)

Played the new layout today, shot a 48, Devan shot a 46.

My thoughts;

I've always been a fan Haikey and always will. It's one of the courses where I learned to play... I think we need to differentiate between the everyday course and tournament or "championship" layout.

Hole 2 - I like it, but it would be better if it was brought 50 feet closer or pushed back 150-200 feet. Closer would net a few more deuces and farther would put a lot more importance on the first shot. It's a pretty easy 3 where it is unless you throw it in the trees on the left.

Hole 5 - Fine, not a very exciting hole, but not much to work with. I would make the permanent teepad closer and have a "championship" tee where it is at. This will prevent casuals from yanking it over the path on the right.

Hole 6 - Cool hole. Once again, this hole needs a shorter teepad or shorter pin to prevent the everyday player from pulling their drive into the path on the right.

Hole 7 - Hmmm... I could do without this hole, but it's alright.

Hole 8 - This hole is fine, but it is way to enticing to throw over the path/road on the right side. Maybe a mando left on the first tree to right would help? ... Permanent pad should be short and the current pad should be "championship" with a mando.

Hole 9 - I'm not a big fan of this hole. I actually think it was better in the short position because it forced you to go through the trees. Now a thumber, big lefty hyzer and the righty hyzer of the road are all doable. My biggest frustration with the change is it took away 18. 18 was a great hole, now it sucks. The old hole, plus old 18 is a much better combo than the new hole, plus new 18.

Hole 13 - Okay hole. Hyzer into the ditch, two-finger or turnover to the pin. Old hole 12 and 13 were great holes, new 13 is mediocre in my opinion.

Hole 18 - This went from being a hole I really liked to being a hole that I would rather not play. Before you had to put some distance on it, but if you went long or left you ended up o.b.. Great finishing hole! Now it's just a gimme birdie.

That's what I think, take it or leave it. I appreciate all the effort everyone is putting in!

one thing i should have mentioned to everyone... hole 14 will be teeing off from the old pad that we used for hole 11. Tee signs are installed as of yesterday evening.

Papa Treat and/or myself will be installing rubber fly-pads for holes 5-6-7-8 sometime this week. You will have 14 concrete tees and 4 rubber tees.

I will re-paint all markers on the ground directing players on Friday morning. I will also be installing the stakes for temporary tee-signs and next-tee markers.

im loving the new haikey, but i gotta say hole.. 11? 12? the one right next to the tunnel, should really be moved if at all possible, the danger/slowdown those holes cause is very high. even just say, bagging the basket and putting a portable deeper or even shorter and slightly right? as it stands now i could have an in the circle putt on the tunnels tee pad.. slowing everything down and maybe KO'ing someone driving :P

Due to the phone call i just received from Daryl Maxville, the haikey creek maintenance director, the 2/2 mini scheduled for saturday the 27th will now be a 10am work day, 2pm mini.

everyone bringing tools and helping in the work day will receive free entry into the mini at 2:00.

The County Parks Department has received complaints about some of the holes from casual players. The course is now "too hard".

Here is a list of changes that will be made:

Hole 2 - will be moved back to where it was.
Hole 5 - will be shortened approximately 100 feet.
Hole 6 - will be placed just before the densely wooded area.
Hole 8 - tee sign will be moved up about 100 feet.
Hole 9 - basket will be moved further away from both park roads, roughly 20-25 feet.
Hole 13 - basket will be moved closer by about 100 feet.

DO NOT WORRY! these winter-time changes will be quasi-permanent. I plan on retrofitting all of the aforementioned baskets with new center poles and a sleeve / collar apparatus to allow the course to be "changed" back to the Haikey that it is right this minute.

Monday night minis will start back as soon as we get daylight savings time back in March of 2011. Be looking to see these changes happening as soon as April.

but as far as changing it in the meantime, i'm afraid this has to happen.

you ~can~ flex start, but i will be doing the ticket drawings and sending out the stragglers around 5:40 - 5:45. last week with a foursome we started at 5:50 and finished just as it got dark. with you fancy pros and your fancy long shots, i figure you'd be able to finish well before dark.

with that being said,

MINI AT HAIKEY TONIGHT!

I will be there around 5:00. Last card(s) will tee at 5:45. If you get a group together and want to tee prior to that, feel free. Ticket drawings are always "need to be present to win" since i dont know who has what tickets.

Ace pot starts at $188. We will be playing 8 from the short and 14 from the short.

Tonights ticket drawing is a best buy gift card of mystery value! could be $1, could be $100!

i'm going to put it this way:

the mini for tonight is not cancelled, but i strongly encourage folks to skip this one. Haikey is known to have flooding issues and i'd be willing to bet that lots of spots will have a lot of standing water. I will be in my normal spot at 5:00 to take signups, but i am not playing tonight.

also, with the work-day being next weekend, if there are lots of muddy footprints in areas we need to have "smooth" for possible teepad transpositioning, then playing tonight will possibly just mean more work for us this weekend.

i hate to sound like johnny raincloud, but it's nasty out there.

I called Darryl, the maintenance supervisor for Haikey, and he said that several fairways, teepads and tee-areas are under 3-6" of standing water. keep in mind the ditch you cross to get to 14's basket and 15's tee will probably have a small river in it. the ditch by 15's basket wont be much fun, either. hole 9 could eat some discs thrown by someone who goes through the trees and doesnt get through cleanly.

due to the huge amount of water we've received over the past few days and the tendencies for Haikey to hold water, sunday's workday will consist solely of trash and debris cleanup and converting holes 2, 5, and 6 into "sleeved" baskets. we had hoped to rent some equipment and attempt to move the teepads from the woods to the new holes across the street. i have prepped the sleeves to be buried and have the remaining hardware to convert the baskets onto new center poles. the afternoon mini will run very similar to my monday night minis in format with tickets, giveaways, and mulligans.

if centennial kicks your butt tomorrow, come get some revenge at haikey on sunday! get some good course mojo by helping us dig holes and pick up trash on sunday morning!

So my sister gets a phone call on Monday night at 10:08pm from a guy who says he found her disc. The only one she remembers even losing in Oklahoma is a teal colored Star Beast I gave her that she loved and lost it at Haikey during a practice round at the Oklahoma Open last year. This guy left her a voicemail since she didn't answer and said he found her disc, threw it and loved it, and said she won't be getting it back. Now I can understand if someone found it and decided to keep it. But to call and tell her she won't be getting it back is Bullsh*t! Here is his number 918-237-0488. So I am asking everyone reading this to look in your phones and see if you know who this guy is. I just want his name. Thanks

thanks for the lead-in, Kyle. :)

MINI AT HAIKEY TONIGHT! We will start around 6:10pm. Please try to be there by 6:00.

I will be bringing a cooler with bottled water because it's so friggin hot outside.

Ace pot has been beaten up pretty bad in recent weeks, so I will be moving baskets 5 and 6 back to the "long" pins until after the state championships. It will start at.. hold on to your seats.. $14!! woo! git you some!

Tonight's raffle giveaways will be gift cards to Marble Slab Creamery located by the bass pro shops, and at least one CFR "glo" disc with your 2011 state logo on it.

I WILL HAVE ENTRY FORMS WITH ME FOR THE TOURNAMENT TONIGHT IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO PRE-REGISTER.

by necessity , the standing Reward situation has been re-invoked , and refreshed as the official Law Enforcements and County-Parks-Legal-System have been notified and recorded (by your TD Bill Moyers) ; the DGA Basket in location # 15 Haikey Creek was dug-up and stolen last Friday night 6/17/2011 between the hours of 10:30pm Friday and 5:00am Saturday the suspect(s) have size 9 tennis-shoe-with-a-cross-hatch-pattern (photographed) -and- a size 11 tennis-shoe-with-non-intersecting-circles-on-the-tread (also photographed) if you see this shoe-type (OR they may now switch to NEW footwear upon hearing this) , keep mental-notes the Mach-III style with upper-number-plate would have had the concrete-ball still-on-center-pipe at least Saturday remember those details and whereabouts might spark a memory
.
ANY information leading to arrest and conviction would net you the TDSA reward of $300.00 cash PLUS the added-by-Forest amount of $300.00 cash PLUS the added-by-Geurin amount of $400.00 total CASH reward for good info to catch-a-thief = $1,000.00
.
this IS officially a FELONY THEFT in Oklahoma Authorities involved are READY-TO-PROSECUTE in Criminal Court depending on any-past-record(s) , this may net someone-caught a new-orange-jumpsuit at Big-Mac what a risk by these bozos

side note just yesterday , 6/20/2011 : some information was received about a possible sighting that was checked-out within a two-hour-period that Basket situation turned out to be legit but KUDOS for sharp-eyed tips like that keep your Radar on ; eyes and ears open wide

Me and my friend came up to Tulsa from norman on Monday and leaving in the morning. We wanted to play all the courses we haven't yet and played haikey this morning. That course is awesome it may be my favorite we've played ever. The only bad thing is that I lost my champion 1st run xcaliber. It's yellow with a rainbow stamp. I threw it on 14 and it went left towards the the creek/river it should be shorter than the tree that is out over the water. We looked as much as possible in the jungle grass and didn't have luck and when I was about to get in the water we saw a water moccasin take off which changed my mind since we weren't even sure it was in the water. After the major storm last night it was flowing pretty bad so I was scared anyway. Were only 16 so my mom most likely wound of been mad if I got in with the water moving like it was. Any way so it may be in the tall grass between the old pad and that tree or may be about 5 miles down the river thanks to the flood last night. I will give an award or discs or something if somebody found it. And if you do and I get it back I will guarantee you it'll be a good reward..say a CE valkryie?

Bill or anyone. It looks like I left my stool at the State Championships. It was a Camp Time with an orange LSDisc sticker on the seat and a gold Twisted Flyer tornado outline sticker on one leg. If anyone found it. Please let me know.

I looked around yesterday for your disc, as I had lost my champion xcal myself on monday. After 15 minutes I finally found mine. I couldn't locate yours though, but could you be a little more specific on which tree it was? Was it the first tree, which is on the bank, or the second set of tree, which is literally right on the water down at the bottom of the ravine?

It was the 2nd one right on the water. And congrats on finding yours! Their great discs!

your stool is safe and sound in my trunk. i am playing alma on saturday - if you are going to be there, i will have it with me. if not - is there anyone going who i can trust to give your stool to and return it to you?

and i run a lost-n-found out of my car and have not seen any xcal's. but i will keep my eyes peeled for it. glad you liked the course.

We have a Haikey mini every monday night at 6:00. as far as sanctioned events, you are looking at the 2012 haikey creek classic.

Chuck Williams called me last night and was asking about the mini this morning. with my newfound employment, i can no longer run friday morning events. he said he would run $5 draw doubles this morning. so look for his black jetta.

thanks chuck.

Hey Mr. Slim..

Any chance of getting them posted on here and or facebook??

Just checking. I know I like to see how everyone played and I assume others do as well..

yeah i have slacked big-time about posting scores since i got the new job.

i called the winners into the paper on my way home last night just so they'd have a chance of making it.

got home, showered, crashed. i have ZERO free time on an average day at work, especially for the next 3-4 weeks.

i'll fire up the laptop tomorrow night and post everything that i'm lacking on here and on FB.

you still in BOS?
