Happy 4th everyone. Wanted to get a thread going for the DEPC in Greenville NC. I haven't finished the flier yet but wanted to get the word out.

The Down East Players Cup is October 23/24 this year. Unfortunately ECU has a football game against Marshall on Oct. 23. The game is at 4:15. We will be starting early, not 100% but probably 9AM so that those that want to get to the game can. Hotels will fill so unless you plan on staying with a local golfer get reservations soon. Alternatively hotels in Kinston or Wilson are only 30-40 minutes away and rates will be lower on football weekends. PDGA members also get discounts at select hotels.

Besides start times we do not plan to change much, Greenville Disc Golf wants to bring the same fun event we always host. Players pack for everyone, and they dont come out of your entry fee. An added bonus Todd Markov has promised to raise $2000 as part of his successful campaign for President of Greenville Disc Golf. Can we say thank you Todd?

I went to reserve a room at the Days Inn in Greenville the other day for $80. It's booked up already. I had to settle on the Travelodge ($72 with the PDGA discount). It only has a 2 star rating but it'll get me through Saturday night.

SO... those planning on coming.. Hotels are already filling up

We had seven people come out to a workday at The Meadow, getting ready to concrete in holes A, 9, 12 long, and B. Course is looking great and registrations are starting to come in. Around 30-35 people already in.

Dont forget this year the field is limited to 80.

Thanks DG. The event is indeed limited to an 80 person field. I just updated the pre-reg. We are currently at 51 players. So only 29 spots left.

We are currently sitting at over $1000 in added cash, and hoping to hear back from several potential sponsors soon.

Please do not call me to hold a spot. Only GVDG club members can get a spot held for them. If you want to get a spot I suggest paypal or mailing a check in the next week.

Reminder the events is capped at 80 players this year. Lots of regular names not on the list yet. Some body is going to miss out on a fun event, register soon. Pro field looks fun and challenging.

Jeff we didn't organize early enough to do matchplay this year, so we just used the Sunday Baggers monthly for potential spots.

Workday on Sunday October 3rd around 1:00PM....following Sunday Baggers.

Bring gloves, trash bags, machetes, rakes, clippers, weed whackers, and other yard tools.

We'll be cleaning up the course......overgrowth and trash.

We will need all the help we can get so we can remove the safety hazards from 10 Purple's fairway.

So ready to play Down East! Driving down from Raleigh on Saturday for my first look at the course.

Excited looks like it will be a lot of fun to play. And the competition from Down East always makes it a blast.

The advanced field looks nice and could get one more player moving into that divison :)

Saturday: Hamburgers/2 Hotdogs, Chips, Drink $5 also wings provided by Wings Over Greenville for those buying lunch.
-Basket toss during lunch Saturday, everyone receives one free toss in players pack, additional shots 1 for $1, 6 for $5.
Sunday: Lunch provided for all competitors by Hooters; Wings, BBQ Sandwiches, sides

note: Saturday Greenville will be very crowded for the Football game, it is recommended to get your lunch on site or bring your own.

Since it is my first Down East Players cup and I played the course for the first time last Saturday. Can you tell us what course layout and what holes we will be playing for the tournament? I heard 19-20 holes and something about hole 8 blue under water. Thanks

Rd1: White pads except hole 10 we are playing the blue pad. Baskets in alt positions(11-13), hole 15 basket in Spring position
Rd2: Blue Pads except hole 10 we are playing purple pad. Baskets in alt positions, hole 15 basket in Summer position
Rd3: Blue Pads except hole 10 we are playing gold pad. Baskets in reg. positions, hole 15 in fall positions
Rd4: White pads including 10. Baskets in reg. positions, hole 15 in winter position.

Water is going down every day, shouldn't have any issues with hole 8 by this weekend.

Reminder that everyone must check-in by 8:30.

Max, will there be a triple mando featured on hole 10 this year or is that torture over with?

Monny: yes, but only during the 4th round. there is also a $100 bounty on an ace for hole 10, any round.

I got the pins moved to where they will be for the first round. In the alt positions.

I recommend bug spray this weekend. With all the rain recently mosquito's are quite bad.

You may want to bring a portable bug zapper and hang it from your bag.

Oh Yeah we got em down here too. I saw a mosquito the other day with 3 ticks on him..lol
