Well we're about to get another ratings update today...
who's moving where? Up or down? smile or frown?
Will Devan pass Coda in rating? Jared back up over 1000?
Got a text from Wilkes last night, he thinks hes dropping back below 981...
Can josh crowl or adam hunt bust the 990 barrier??
Post your rating and whether or not you went up or down once it drops later today.
What about all the up and comers? How high will gary jump? Seth? Who is going to be the highest rated Tulsa Am player?
I think I will jump up 6+ points....Hopfully Jared can get over 1000 again.
(I know im not from Tulsa)

to be honest, i have no clue. I was surprised to be at 985 last update. so I don't really expect it to go up a lot if it does.
I think by the next update It will be higher than 985, but this one it may just hover.
I think I will be third rated in my crew (adam josh me triska) i predict josh will be around 990, adam 988, me 986? triska 945
look out for adam in the next update though, hes got a lot of 1000 rated tourneys that will start to hit his resume by the next update. I think if adam and josh keep playing big tourneys and travelling, they will be pushing 1000 rated by this time next year. but they gotta play the big tourneys like they are doing.

I moved up 10 points and now sittin' at 931 rated... I haven't had any solid rounds lately and haven't played many sanctioned events this year yet sooo... I'm hoping that one of these days those 800 rated rounds will disappear. I jumped straight into competitive Disc Golf after six months of playing and have been loving it ever since! My goal this year is to not shoot anything below my rating (which I failed at during HCC:o) and to reach 975 by years end.. we'll see!

me josh and adam all did the exact same thing man, just takes about a year to year and a half to drop those 800s, you gotta play some more sanctioned rounds if you can though.
your rating will eventually catch up to normal. its just takes time, its one reason that it sucks for us here in tulsa! we get a lot of new good players moving their rating up quick, and it kinda smashes the ratings a little in tournaments, its cool though, sooner or later they will settle out, we are already a force to be reckoned with.

Slim, I just looked back at the 07 Glide and it was 14 points a stroke. McCoy always said Riverside and Chandler were ratings killers. I also looked at an event I played this year at Chandler. The short course was also 14 points a stroke, while Moose Run was 12 points a stroke. The Haikey Classic was 7.5 per stroke and the Emporia A tier was 10.5, 9 and 9 across the three courses.
slim___15288
Jul 20 2010, 12:51 PM
yuck!
yeah, 7 strokes was a ~100 point ratings difference last weekend. what stinks about that is that it's probably not stinky enough to get dropped from my ratings.

the 3rd round at mitch park for the edmond tourney was only 6-7 points a stroke. I originally thought it was because the pros were shooting 65-70 and the rec players were shooting 95-105.

Paul, after looking over your stats I would have to agree. It appears you should be #2 on that list.
Using 1 major/NT and 4 b tiers or above, you have averaged 1001.8 and had an average finish of the top 20%.
Also, Drew patton, who is listed at the bottom of the rookie list has an averge rating of 983 and you have beaten him head to head twice. But they will not use head to head for the ROY calculations.

Paul was on the preliminary ROY list but was eliminated based on records indicating he accepted cash on July 18, 2009 before Pro-Am Worlds 2009. That made 2009 his Rookie year. Waiting to accept cash after PW2009 would have made 2010 his rookie year.

Mike, take it from the person that perfected the "Wise Move".... you only get to drop the round you dnf on. If you finish a round and its crap, then you get to keep it. I have only one dnf for rating protection. The other dnfs were for temper or I had all the fun I could handle and didn't want any more, which goes back to the temper thing.

ratings came out a day early.
i see SEVEN oklahoma golfers in the 1000 club.
correct me if i am wrong, but is this the first time all three of our ORU boys have been 1000 at the same time?
Congrats Devan, Coda, Ron, Josh, Sammy, Paul, and Adam.
then if you scroll all the way down into the trenches of the am men page, i am at an all-time personal best of 920. woohoo!

Slim that statement is accurate. We are all now 4 digits! Congrats to Adam for making the leap for the first time!
OK has some salty golfers! Even some old ones that aren't too shabby.

Seemed like the best place for this.
In the most recent ratings update i am still missing my Devil's Den round ratings being calculated into my overall rating. I am still fairly new to ratings and such so what causes this? My rating dropped a few points but i know with Devi'ls Den would be back where it was so i am curious if there is anything i can do for it to be added in?
Anything info would help. Like i said still not clear on all ratings stuff so feel free to school me. Thanks in advance!

You'll have to ask the TD. It is up to him to send in the data and fees.
