UC has a new layout. We have moved seven holes from the front of the park to the new land in the back along Cibolo Creek. Doubles will be at UC this year so that everyone gets a chance to preview the new holes.

At Live Oak we will combine <st1>Lake</st1> and City Hall courses into one layout:
15, 16, 17*, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23*, 23A, 23B, 23C, 23D, 24*, 25*, 26, 27, 28
*Recreational and Intermediate divisions will play short tees on these holes.
<o></o>
This is temporary for this year only. There are several reasons for this change:
It will improve the flow of play by eliminating long walks between holes.
It will be easier to get drinking water out on the courses.
It will not require any temporary holes or portable baskets.

We anticipate that by next year the reconfiguration of Live Oak will be complete, and we can return to the Lake/City Hall format. We may even have a third course in place by then (Lakeview College), but that is not certain at this point.

The schedule is (subject to change):

Saturday AM - Adv/Open at Live Oak, Int/Rec at UC
Saturday PM - Int/Rec at Live Oak, Adv/Open at UC

Sunday AM - Int/Rec at Live Oak, Adv/Open at UC
Sunday PM - Adv/Open at Live Oak, Int/Rec at UC

Oh joy. More righty holes in the woods.

(I kid, I kid.)

Although you are kidding that is exactly what they are. They fit in nicely with the rest of the course and make it slightly harder. Instead of making hay on easy open short holes you will need to be hitting your lines. Also there won't be a need for the "Bender Rule" on old hole 14 as that tee box has been moved to the other side of the creek.

UC HQ will be at hole #1 (Old #5) near the back parking lot.

Only one players meeting, at Live Oak HQ (on Shin Oak next to pool.) then it's off to UC for Rec and Intermediate round 1. You will have enough time to get to your holes.

UC Parking will be in back parking lot with overflow in street and across the street at Red Horse park. We encourage everyone to carpool as much as possible.

All amateur players will recieve

Tournament Shirt with Fly-Ink stamp
LOSO Koozie
and a ZING Mini

Typically the retail value of these items up to $15 is taken out of Am payout before the payout is calculated.

Well, we are changing that.

Shirts...paid for by sponsorship
Koozies...paid for by sponsorship
ZING Minis...still looking for sponsor, but I think we will find one.

I should add that these sponsorships are not taking anything away from the added cash for pro players. They were donated specifically to cover these items. So there will be very little or nothing taken from the payout.

By the way, STAFF will receive the same package, plus some more goodies, and we still need some staff, so hit me up if you can help out.

I promise to have a players list up soon, as soon as I get an update from Twisted Flyer.

Please remember, there is no registration Saturday morning. You must be paid by 7pm Friday night. Once paid, you can check in Friday afternoon or Saturday morning, your choice.

We do this so that we can make hole assignments Friday night instead of Saturday morning. That gets everyone out on the courses sooner, which is important because of the afternoon heat.

For more specifics on check in times and locations, visit www.lodga.com/loso_faq.htm (http://www.lodga.com/loso_faq.htm).

Wouldn't it be cool if all the Masters decided to play up and make a much larger divisions in MPO? When you look at the ratings (excluding 1-2 players) it is very evenly matched and if Vinnie or Joel play Masters the rest of the guys might at well play MPO.

From the K end, most people should have about 3500 mg/day and a 12 oz beer has 96 mg...so that is about 35 beers, but they say 5000 mg/day is too much so not over 50 beers a day please. This has been a PSA brought to you by sciencet_cher.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the sock drive. We collected 190 pairs and that puts the count to 1,231/1,300. We will still be collecting until the middle of September, so there is still time to donate. Thanks again!
