Ok folks, heres th deal. We will be playing an 11 hole (#1-#11), match play, double elimination tourny. There will be random seating and everyone is in the same divisions.........but wait. Players will recieve holes (or points) to handicap them depending on thier division. Here is how it will work

Open: 0
Advanced, Open Masters: +1
Am, Adanced Masters: +2
Novice, Women, Am Masters: +3

Example: A Novice plays an Open Men player. The Novice is up 3 holes (or points before they even T off. This is only a 11 hole match so it could get dormy quick.

50% of the field will be paid. 70% of paid players will receive cash. The bottom 30% will be paid plastic. We hope to see you there.

You can pre-register with Josh Crowl or myself before the Riverside mini or before the Hunter Mini this week. We obviously will have the event even if it doesnt fill but with the phone traffic i am getting I think it has a shot.

i have every intention of playing, gotta get the cash together though. i do pretty good in match play as its hard to get frustrated when 13 strokes on one hole is still just 1 point :) lol

and dan, i figure with all the crap talking you old timers throw out there, theres got to be some benefit to it, im just trying to learn from the masters :P

This is going to be a fun event. I like the idea of everyone being in the same division and having an opportunity to win. I mean anyone with a 3 hole advantage and only 11 holes to try and come back and win the match, that's gonna be hard.

This event looks AWESOME. I really like the extra holes awarded to the advanced intermediate and other divisions. This really is a good chance for the lower levels to even the playing field. Match play is so fun! Got my taste of it at texas teams. It really is a different mindset than playing overall score! Make sure you advertise this at minis because not everyone sees this board, I bet theres some novice or intermediate out there that could have a good shot at cashing/winning

looking at this list, I think it would be better served for Wise to spend his time trying to kill those pesky centennial beavers. you got about as much of a shot at cashing at this event as you do finding a hot tub time machine to take you back to your glory days in the 60s.

I wish it was just hot dogs.....try bacon wrapped water chestnuts with a sweet dipping sauce. If you don't like the sound of that you should try some of my home made Oreo ice cream.

Glad I was out in two matches, there is no way in he11 I could have physicaly lasted from 8:00am to 9:00pm. I'd rather lose another $70 on skins than have to play 12 hours.

If Nicholson owes anyone money form the ace draw it would be me! If not for me he would have been in bed and missed it all. Practicaly had to beg him to get his arse to the course and play.

Good idea. We still need to figure the pre registration process out. Thanks for the feedack.

Just make it clear, that if they plan on playing, there will be NO signups the day of the event. If you choose to take them that morning, they will have to be there by 7:00am. Use a rolling start with the matches going out matched up so that winners pair up for their next one. This way when they get in they don't have to wait an hour for a match. Maybe send the losers bracket players to holes 12-18.

Not sure what the best solution would be, but I love the double elimination, just need to find a way to not make it a 13 hour day.

All in all I thknk it was a great event and format.

I like the idea of keeping players togeather on cards of their current match and potentials for next rounds match. That way the winners can be paired up and either take off or wait for the other potetial match for the next round to play with. We also could max it at 16 to make it faster. 32 players would have been interesting.

Or since it is double elimination, make them 9 hole matches. Run two courses, 1-9 10-18 or 3-11 and 12-2, so that their is never a back up or groups waiting to tee. I think the biggest factor is to begin play no later than 8:00am maybe even 7:30.

The number of matches willbe the same, just have to figure out how to get them through quicker and the next matches out on the course.

What happened to hatton yesterday? I saw him show up, then poof, another first round exit?

1st round would be tough to do in single elimination?
