since cash and prizes are optional and consider side bets, can AMs accept side bet cash and maintain AM status with PDGA?

Good question. I was concerned about this. The published PDGA information indicates that side pools are not subject to the rules of amateur status. I also asked this question directly to the PDGA. They verified that side pools would not affect an amateur's status.

Certainly an interesting concept on the money. I've long wished our Am divisions had evolved a different culture, with modest entry fees and no expectation of payouts. I hope this goes well.
I hope, even more, that I can make it there.

Mr. Harold
Many thanks for making the event a Southern Nationals qualifier, again.
I will remind them to include the High Country Throwdown on the SN schedule.

Just wanted to get this thread back on the first page. From what I have been told this is a great course and a fun event. Very curious to see how the format plays out as well.

Just to clarify, even though this is an XB, all rounds will be singles and you will recieve a rating for each round you play.

Good Question. I asked Chuck Kennedy since ratings are important. Chuck indicated that the rounds would be rated since they will be singles with PDGA rules will be in effect.
Take care,
Harold
