The 10th Annual Tar Heel State Disc Golf Tournament is open for registration and is accepting tournament sponsorships!!!
This PDGA B-tier and NC Champions Series Event will be held on June 12-13, 2010 at the UNC Disc Golf Course in Chapel Hill, NC.
To commemorate the 10th year of the event, we will be doing personalized polo shirts with tons of options for the AM players packs. These shirts will also be available for purchase to the general public. This years event will be limited to 90 players. The par 60 course layout will be 18 holes, including the original #17 and #18. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions.

When I heard 18 holes, I assumed we would play the first 15 holes and then skip 16 and 17 and head to the last 3 holes.

I'm very surprised about this info!

UPDATE:
ALL AMs who register by May 25th will receive personalized tourney polo shirts! These shirts would retail ~$65, and are also available for purchase without tourney registration for $39 on the registration webpage.

what are the chances of wait list movement? what happens with registration money if it doesn't move? thanks.

There have already been 3 folks to get in off the waitlist since monday.
anyone on the waitlist who has paid and does not get in the tourney, gets a full refund unless they told me that they wanted a personalized polo shirt. In that case they will get their shirt and any remaining entry fee -$39 (shirt fee).

The tournament layout is:

ADV/PRO-par 60, 18 holes, including #19 and #20, but combining holes #3 and 4 into one hole and holes #14 and 15 into one hole. Par 4s on holes (3&4), 13, (14 &15), 19 ,20.

INT/ REC par 54, 18 holes, incuding 19 and 20, and will play short pads on holes 2, 3/4, 5, 8,9, 13, 14/15, 19, 20. This means playing holes 4 and 15 regular and skipping holes 3 and 14 (over the pond and valley).

The custom tourney polo shirt orders have been placed!

Course is in top shape because of the hard work David Mansfield, The Zebulon Disc Golf Club and Zebulon Parks and Rec have put in.

Now that we have all of the tournament plastic in, the UNC Disc Golf Club will be having a dinner party/ plastic release party at Carolina Brewery in Chapel Hill on Wednesday, June 9th @ 6 pm and lasting till ~8:30. We have INNcolor, Glo and Star CFR discs available in tournament stamps as well as many popular discs with the classy UNCDG Club logo. All profits go towards the tournament purse!!

Congrats to Henry Childres on his first Open win! Congrats to Alan and Emily on their strong finishes in the playoff for rec and womens int respectively. A big congratulations to all the winners and all the players who finished all 4 rounds. It was a grueling marathon of blissful golf!
