very cool Chi, looking forward to meeting you!
if you are driving up, you may just be able to take home our newest addition to the GPO -

yet another added contest/incentive for the Great Pocono Open!
Mobile Edge, a local car audio store, has donated a pair of Eclipse speakers to give away to the player that DRIVES from the furthest location to the Great Pocono Open!

This is in addition to the many other exciting things that will happen ON TOP OF AMAZING DISC GOLF, including but not limited to a long drive contest, putting contest, players party, camping and more!

Get your pre-reg in NOW, there will be player limits!

Work will begin today to pour concrete for 8 additional tee boxes at the F.E. Walter Dam course! Boxes are being framed today and poured tomorrow! This means no more muddy tee boxes! This was a concern after last years event saw rain on day 1 - now that concern can be tossed aside and you can focus on perfect drives during the two day Great Pocono Open!

Get your pre-reg in now, they are picking up and we are now at 38! http://www.pdga.com/tournament-results?TournID=9802
Don't forget, the fields are limited and this event has been gaining popularity each and every year - so get in while you can!

With the beautiful Pocono Mountains, 2 very diverse courses, players party, cheap camping, long drive contest and all around good guy Mike Solt running the show - this event promises to be the premier disc golf event in Northeastern PA!

Hope to see you there!

FEW now has concrete tee pads! After many years of fundraising efforts, this course now has new baskets and concrete tees on every hole! This is really an accomplishment for the Bearclaws and we are quite proud! We are also quite proud to showcase FEW at this year's Great Pocono Open along with Hickory Run!

Speaking of the Great Pocono Open - with less than 2 weeks remaining, we are up to 46 pre-reg'ed players. While that does not seem like many (yet), these 46 players are coming from all over the country! We have players coming from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Michigan, Missouri, Florida, Tennesse, Kansas, North Carolina and Ottawa! As you can see, the word is spreading about this great event - please, help us out if you can and get your pre-reg in early - this will help us to ensure a smooth event that is run without any issues! Hope to see your name on the pre-reg list next!

From the TD:

I want to thank everyone who attended the Great Pocono Open. We had 106 people hailing from 13 states. From Kansas and Florida, to Michigan, Missouri and everywhere in between; people drove sometimes over 12 hours to get there!

Also, we were graced with FOUR team Innova players!

Two Vibram spots were award to Justin Madore and Nick Knapp. Be sure to cheer on their quest for cash at the Vibram Open!

Congrats to Steve Brinster for taking down the Pro Open division. Congrats to Matt Egan for taking down Pro Masters and congrats to Ray Rogers for his Pro Grandmasters win. A great battle between Lesli Brinster and Maureen McErlean ended with Mo edging Leslie to take the Pro Ladies.

In the Amateur fields, Ben Siffle took down MA1, Alan Mindas MA2, Tucker Kunkle MA3, John Michaels MM1, Sara Lamberson, FW1, and Bridget Gallagher taking down FW3.

Nick Tiligadas not only has the only ace, but he also won the basket raffle sponsored by Disc King. So Nick hauled in a custom powder coated basket and a new pair of Keens!

I want to thank Big Dog & Alan Sweeton, Robin Billig, and Tim Slough for their help TDing. Also, a big shoutout to all the locals that helped prepare the courses for play.

Also, I want to thank all the sponsors that made the GPO a smashing success!

Thank you all for you support and see you in 2011!!
