After a late start, things went well. Groups played smooth. Good job Alamance. Course looks great. Very sad to hear they may shut down Well Springs after this tnmt. That is not a good decision.

From what Roger said, because of the trash left behind. One of the nicest courses in carolina. Would be a shame

Burlington needs somebody to really step up and take charge!! The tournaments are really hurting! There use to be tons of people in both tournaments and now only 75 show up, come on. For cedar rock to have two of the best courses in north carolina and no one to run it like it they should, thats bad! No players list, the scores arent posted when they sould be, and letting people play in a lower division then they should be, no valchers giving that winners disc they dont want come on now, get ONE person that can devote the time and be happy!

i completely agree. The boards were not set up in the morning until the last possible second, the payout was changed 3 times (each time it was lowered), no scores or sign up list. I e-mailed the TD a week before the tournament and never got a response. I dont know what was up with payout. No vouchers just a bag of stuff they picked for us. And when I asked if I could trade my plastic for something I got a no... until he realized I was trading champion for dx. This was my first time playing in Burlington and with the vibe I got from the course (one of which was pulled because the locals couldn't pick up some trash) and tournament, it will probably be my last for a while. Y'all need to step it up.

Weaves and JasonR.

I really want to cut Burlington some slack this year. They had a lot of issues coming in, and lets be honest...who of us has the time to completely dedicate to running the payout, etc. I think the tourney was ran fairly well. Obviously there are things I did not like...

1 - Payout changed 3x
2 - Pre-made payout bags (That you couldn't trade to the plastic you want).
3 - Boards coming out late
4 - Sunday - Park opens at 8, round starts at 9.
5 - Communication with the TD

Now honestly, Those 5 items, I would love to say that are unforgivable. However even with me only having played 6 or so tourney's, I've definitely noticed some of those happen.

IMO here's the following
1 - This should never happen, not 3x. I saw the payout was posted, and when I got my payout, I definitely didn't have that much value in my winnings. However I don't know the circumstances. I'm sure these guys had the absolute best of intentions and didn't lower it willingly.

2 - In the past they have done vouchers, I 'think' they switched this year out of time. Pre-made bags always leave someone unhappy, but hey man, it's plastic you can trade/sell. I'm always left wanting something else since I throw mainly Discraft (and that's never in a payout).

3 - Boards coming out late (no excuse, get them out as early as possible, I however didn't notice this issue.)

4 - Sunday - Park opens at 8, round starts at 9. (This was a little much)...I was waiting at the gate for it to open. I rushed in took care of things and then got to my hole. I was at the hole 30 minutes before we started. I would have liked to have had more time (I hate feeling rushed).

5 - Communication with the TD, I to called him a couple of times and didn't get a return call. I imagine he was busy with setup.

My only soap box here is with the plastic payout. I waited until the end, when everyone was done. I wanted to trade down a Star Leopard and a Champion Sidewinder for 2 Gateway Wizards. The wizards were disc's they had, so they would have made $$ back. The guy said yes at first, then talked himself into saying 'no'. I accepted his no and left.

At the end of the day you can't make everyone happy. I took my payout and left with a good experience playing with good friends. I'll take the Star and Champion disc and go to discaroo or trade with a friend or someone else who's selling. Either way it is what it is.

Ok - sorry for the long winded rant.

Weaves, the payout has always been this way since I started playing. Just something to accept and either still play, or select a different tournament. I appreciate a well run tournament, but I also support the growth of the sport and the pioneers in the state of NC. Now is the time to support Burlington and hopefully they will not lose Wellspring. Again, not making excuses for the tournament, but there is a much larger concern for those who want to support the course than whether or not someone is getting a large enough amateur payout or that they had scores to look at online. I'd rather be able to look and throw at Wellspring!

Im not talking about payout amount. I thought the payout was fairly good but when I hear that first place gets $201 and that gets knocked down about $30-$40 I was a little ticked off that they didn't have their stuff together. We are paying almost $50 to play their tournament and for them to have all these problems makes it feel like I payed $50 too much. If people are gonna run a tournament they need to commit to it and do it right.

Below is the information for the person we (disc golfers) need to contact to make sure the course stays in tact. They have threatened to pull the course because of locals that leave trash and drink beer at the park (they find the cans in the trash cans ironically). Please email the below contact and tell him that the course is one of the best in NC and is traveled to from all areas of the state. Would hate to see it go. They have pulled the course in the past and I believe they put it back about 5 months later.
