Thanks to all the players who came out and made 3rd Annual San Antonio Open the most well run event to date in the Alamo Disc Series. Rick Perez (Pearsall Course Pro) and Corey Peschke, Jerry Lively, & Ben Blount (The Pearsall Course Crew) had the place looking like a gem. OB was well marked and I received lots of positive feedback from the players on how the OB changed the course for better and made the event more enjoyable. Micah Samuelsen stepped up huch this tourney as co-TD, having Micah onboard helped make this the most smoothly run tourney yet. Also many thanks to Corey Peschke & Jayson Houston for running the scoring table, Orlando for heading up the raffle, One Shot for BBQing (**** those ribletts where good!), Elise for run the cash bank, Jerry & Jeanie for running the Jerry�s Cherries CTP challenge, FlyInk for sponsoring the Susan B. Komen longest putt fundraiser, Sun King Discs & Kan Jam for a CTP, FlyInk for a CTP, Millennium for a CTP, San Antonio Disc Club for a 6 disc CTP, DiscGolfStation.com for a CTP, Innova Discs, TitleDisc, & DiscGolfStation.com!!!

Round 1 was windy and scoring and putting where at a premium. Top score came out of the Open Division with Lisle Updike scoring a -5, 50. Round 2 started with some aerial delights courtesy of the ginormous C5 planes flying out of Lackland Air Force Base and ultimately some better scoring opportunities. Jose Garza shredded the course with a course record -11, 44 to come from 5 throws back to win the Men�s Advanced Division. Lisle Updike was able to hold off Phil Morgan by 1 throw to win the Men�s Open Division. The big shake up was Mike Morales moving up from Men�s Recreational to Men�s Intermediate division after winning the first 2 tourneys in the series. Mike competed well finishing in 4th and only 1 throw out of 3rd! Joel Santrock & Corey Peschke where tied after both shooting -2, 53�s in the first round. Joel bested Corey by 8 throws to take 1st for the 2nd time this year in the Men�s Intermediate Division. The Men�s Recreational Division featured a 21 player field. Brad Carver lead after the 1st round after shooting a +5 60 but could hold off a late charging David Mallot who shot a +2, 57 to come from behind and win.

We had $170 up for grabs in the Ace Pot. It was CTP�d off for 3 spots. Wallace Stanley (of DiscGolfStation.com) got 1st for $100, Corey Peschke threw last and got 2nd for $40, and someone else got 3rd for $30.

The next event series qualifier is the Gonzales Open in August.

The next Series Event is the Bryan McClain Open in October.
