Brighton Township and PFDS are excited to announce the May 8 official opening of the Two Mile Run Extension disc golf course with a day of fun for family and friends. The Beaver County course will host the learn to play/recreational event as part of the 20th year celebration of the World's Biggest Disc Golf Weekend.
PFDS members will be on hand from 10AM-4 PM to do disc golf demonstrations and to give lessons. The event is NOT a tournament, but the nominal entry fee provides an official custom logo Millennium golf disc. Participants can upgrade their entry and get a disc, tee shirt and mini.
Township Manager Bryan Dehart, Recreation Committee Member Paul Underliner, and Supervisor Harry Wolf have lead the effort to create the challenging 9 hole course (par 35) with two sets of tees for the recreational and intermediate level players. Additional pins positions will be added to the layout, which currently measures about 3100 feet and has a variety of terrain, flora and elevation. Three par 3, four par 4 and two par 5 holes will challenge all golfers to build their game.

Hey everyone,
Had a great meeting with Brighton Township Manager Bryan Dehart and members of the Parks and Recreation board today. Rex Trimm and I represented PFDS.
We finalized details about the Sat. May 8 event to officially open the course. PFDS will be talking about disc golf, demonstrations and giving lessons at the club tent to be set up overlooking the practice basket.
Anybody can enter the event, which is not a tournament, but rather a learn to play disc golf outing with friends and family. Preregistration is encouraged, with info to be posted very soon at PFDS and the Brighton Township websites
The $10 player package includes a custom logo golf disc. Players can also preorder a 20th anniversary World's Biggest Disc Golf Weekend shirt with their golf disc for $20.
Walk up registrations are welcome, but we can't guarantee that we won't have sold out of the discs and shirts. Best to preregister to insure you get this commemorative merchandise.
Of course, the course is open to the public and free to play, on May 8 as well as year round. Players new and experienced, young and old, can all enjoy the healthy effects of playing a round at the 9-hole course.
Address is 1250 Brighton Road, Beaver, PA 15009, and the course is located just of Rte. 60 (recently re-named I376) at the Exit 14 Brighton, exit, then heading east on Brighton Road. .4 miles and turn right into Brighton Maintenance Facility, down the hill past the garage to the gate and beginning of the course.
More info is coming soon.
Please vote in the poll at the top of this thread.

Yesterday was an enjoyable experience at Two Mile Run Extension! This is definitely one of the better nine-hole courses I've ever played. Good mix of hole design for the par 35 layout. My only criticism would be the size of the tees (small) and the tee box materials (loose gravel). Perhaps this is something which will improve with the evolution of the course.
It was obvious many man hours have gone into the project thus far. Thanks to the volunteers and the township employees who made it happen. :)

About 40 disc golfers played the new par-35 9 hole layout at Two Mile Run Extension in Brighton Township, Beaver County on May 8.
With tee signs installed, Red and White tee boxes on each hole and fairways pretty well cut, play was smooth, although 30-40 mph wind gusts made keeping the discs flying where intended and the HQ tent from flying away the big challenges of the day.
Members of the Brighton Township Parks and Rec committee, township supervisors and the township Manager Bryan Dehart were on site throughout the day to welcome golfers.
World's Biggest discs and shirts commemorated the day and are available at www.brightontwp.org.
Top scores from the White Tees --34-- shot by KB Clark and Chris Deitzel (-1 par).

Good course J. Gary. I only wish it had 18 holes. Hole 4 is possibly the toughest hole I've ever played. Birdying it will require near perfect second and third shots.
