Hello all,
There is a chance that I may get to go to The Netherlands with my wife as she studies in Delft. Is there good DG near? I've spent a while looking at the PDGA course directory today and trying to figure out what is close and what may be best to hit up but since I'm not familiar with the geography it is a little difficult. Any local help would be awesome.
Thanks,
Cooper

There are not that many permanent courses in the Netherlands, but here's a link to the Dutch national website that can provide further information:

Hi

we play every Wednesday evening at 19:00 in the Prinses AmaliaPark, Leidsche Rijn, Utrecht contact the LDGDClub at http://www.leidscherijndiscgolfclub.nl/

using the frisbeesport.nl is not a simple way to contact me, Mike , #3129 030 688 1711 works for the last 20 years from out of the country, perhaps a 00 and then :
31 30 688 1711

the course in Nieuwegein is across the street from the Jacks Grill House http://www.jacksgrillhouse.nl/ and the sign is out for repair ( see foto)

the dutch federation has a meeting this Saturday (24april'10) in Arnhem at 10:00 -14:00, means a train ride and not a far walk from the station let me know if you're interested.

the course in IJsselstein is played every 3rd Sunday Morning ( every other month) : next one 16th of May 9:30

p.s.
I love snail-mail especially with a postage stamp about baseball:)

Thanks for the info. I won't be there yet though. My wife is potentially studying abroad next spring and I was just making sure I'd be able to get my fix of DG whilst I am abroad with her. I really hope we get the opportunity to go over there, it sounds like a blast! I'll definitely look you up if we can go over there.

Hi! My husband and I are moving to the Netherlands for 10-12 months (starting at the end of August). I saw that someone had previously posted on here about a league in Utrecht. I was wondering if the course in Utrecht is permanent or not. I'm looking forward to playing while over there! Are there any girls that play in the league?

I'm traveling from utrecht to Rotterdam Saturday I'm practicing today in the prinses AmaliaPark today during the day and Friday afternoon on either pole-hole#5 near the T (accuracy Target) or #9 on the other side of the 'atletiekbaan' (track&field where we practice under (partially)the lights on Monday's 17:30-18:30) I prefer with the bike&train and open to a plan. I'm an experienced 'kaddy'.SMS 06 19 ninety seven thirty 4 68 3129

Hey! Thanks for the response. What time do you think that you will go practice on Friday afternoon at Prinses Amelia Park? I might be able to meet up then.

On Saturday morning, do you know what time the sign ups are for the tournament? Or which park in particular the tournament is being held at? On the Course Directory (on PDGA.com) it shows 2 courses in Rotterdam. I would be interested in trying to organize some sort of plan. My husband might come with me to caddy on Saturday, but it would still be good to meet up and try to go together b/c we have never been to Rotterdam.

Thanks for your help!

Heidi

(Hey, I'm kind of confused about the formatting of your # -- it seems to have more digits than mine -- my # is 06 24 79 25 72 if you want to send me an SMS w/ any plans. Also, my phone is kind of hard to text on b/c it is really crappy -- I got the cheapest possible phone -- but I can try.)

How about coffee/ tea and planning at 3pm?
Where... There are 4 good places including I can visit 'jullie' or come by here on the Korianderstraat , let me know where, either way, I'm walking in the rain or not to pole-hole #5 (its a dga basket loaned from the ijsselstein parcours) at 14:58. Bus 28 is along the course.

How about coffee/ tea and planning at a 'hot-stove session' at the 'paleis' on Sunday's before we go play in the Prinses AmaliaPark at 12:00-13:00 ( an longer?)

Since you played earlier and that I had played this morning near Almelo, two-a-day trainings will be not in order until we have 'uniform contracts' playing 3 times a week and... :) ...

I biked later today and DISCussed the possibilities at a restaurant called 'the Buurvrouw' on Sunday's and/or Wednesday evenings.

I hope you get in contact with B&B , here in LR, and the www.leidscherijndiscgolfclub.nl and joining the NFB via their club. They are busy getting this club and more player will help eventually. ask for a European Championship type course in the new Rijn Park. Until now we have to do with the Prinses AmaliaPark with our 6 tee course.

As I mentioned on the phone, I like the notion they ask for approx 60,- a year for dues. [the Mahjong club asks that much and to compare, the local honkbal and yoga clubs are over 200,- a year]. With some budget making more pin-placements, etc. will bring more players...

You mentioned you have some time's to go to the Euromast Park via the train, can you post them here?

Perhaps more people will want to visit. Here's some gallery passes to hand out on the way and during the day for people who are asking.

hope to be there tomorrow, if this iMac will respond when I re-install the OS update.

Dutch lessons going well? I'm reading this book called "Moet Kunnen"

The MaximaPark was busy with over 1000 participants and the Leidsche Rijn Disc golf Club with help from a PDGA touring pro from Texas. These two pictures show where @ 250 disc's went and one disc was used for 'air-brushing', self-caught flighting and 'triple-faking' :)

redirecting... this point of information is here to try help focus the Disc golf communtity in the Netherlands to understand the relation of the NFB ( dutch federation...www.frisbeesport.nl), the PDGA and the WFDF.. I hope this will be in good shape by the time we are playing in the Winter Olympics in 2018! Including a motion to include DiscGolf in that and other events in the coming years.

(I'm not a member, I understand its someone on the board of the NFB responds to these mails and anyone can read them as part of the transparancy- spirit of the game policy, near the frisbetarian dept. )
