Dale... i read on one of the other threads on the PDGA site that you shot a -8 at dovillio back in 2003, thats sweeeeet. Before all the new big disc technology! I was impressed for sure

Yeah it was a good week,
Back to back rounds of -6, -8, -6
Dovillio may have been 1 or 2 shots harder back then without teepads.
Throwing the USDGC Wildcat alot.
Basically like a nicely seasoned CE TL.
Good memories :)

heck i feel like dovillio plays 6-10 strokes easier since the pads went in,
with that as a calculation there should be a 15-18 down out there.

hell i liked the dirt pads. and i think dovillio played easier when 1 and 2 were reachable by most humans, 3 teed from the left side of the fairway and the basket was 150 ft closer in the open area, 4 was shorter, and 8 had a spike hyzer line

Slim now you kow that isn't true. There is no way you can possibly prefer the dirt ruts over those great tee pads. Have you forgotten all of the footing problems on some of those pads. The only change I would like to see is hole 2 moved back across the path way and make the path way OB on 1-2 and 3 like it used to be. Also the club should consider buying some new cedar trees for hole 8. Its horrible since they took the gaurdians out on that hole.

god made dirt, dirt dont hurt. :)

but yes, i will admit that the teepads out there are some of the best in town. i just wore football cleats when i played the dirt pads, it helped a lot.

I couldn't agree more Wise, on hole 8 anyway. We need to take a hard look at all the courses for tree planting.

Can we get free tree's from somewhere??

Zooc used to be involved with an annual tree planting event. I think the club even participated one year. He may be able to re-appropriate some of them for us.

He probably has something to do with the new tree on 9 at black hawk....nice little willow.....

I saw that and started thinking about a willow we planted once. They grow really fast and they are not expensive. A couple more of those down 9's fairway will make that hole much tougher.

Should work well on that course since the ground holds water real well.

I totally agree about the planting trees and I would say we need some back on #6 too since they have cut a bunch of those down. If we can get some free trees I will definitely help put them in. This is a big problem with most courses, they keep losing trees but they rarely if ever get replaced.
I don't agree about the hole 2 position at Dovillio though, I think that is one of our most challenging pin placements in town along with 18 at McClure. Putts on those holes have risk/reward in the biggest way.

Speaking of which I'm sure Wise remembers the 7 I took on hole 2 at Dovillio at the last Spring Fling we played there. I particularly remember you telling me what a dumb idea it was of me to throw the side arm that went down the hill;)

I don't know about the course holding water real well....but the pond is getting larger and larger due to getting a grip on the land and pulling it in.....

I think Hutch is going out there at night extending the pond, which equals more disc for his sales efforts!!

Let's blame some of it on Bougher!:p

Thanks....I can shoulder some of the blame....as I also have donated several to the pond myself....
