That's right buddy. It is the true "Festa-vus-for the Rest of Us". It's the way God intended. On the top of a mountain so he can watch his favorite tournament. It's "America's Tournament".

Home to the Coberly's and the Hindshaws living in the woods. Where the moose roam and the animals play. A "No Beaver Kill" natural habitat where Mother earth and Father Heaven come to vacation. A place "ET" would call home. A place where even a novice newbie can snag a golden basket with a well placed CTP or random drawing. A place where a golfer caught napping instantly becomes a canvas for struggling sharpie artist everywhere.

A blast from the past to days of "Klick-Klacks", Pink Panther cartoons, 50 cents a gallon gasoline, and the Mazzeppa Pompazoidi 7Up Uncola card.

Well fine then. Go ahead. After the controversy you started last year at least now Wayne and I won't have to worry about the "Hinds" factor.

I had my dates posted a week after last years tournament. I think the PDGA and the guy at the Glass Blown are in a conspiracy to wack my non-sanctioned event.

He has retired from the Mayberry force and moved to Mt Pilot.

This security guy was overated anyway. The only year he ever worked was when Opie was helping him roust the OKC camp.

Since then he's always been out of there by 11pm to go home and cuddle with Thelma Lou and Otis.

If security is required this guy will be waiting in the woods to stomp out the trouble makers.

http://www.northrup.org/Photos/Moose/low/charging-moose.jpg

And if he doesn't work then there are plenty of laid-off Tulsa cops that might want the job.

There are certain campsites at CS that you just don't go into at night. Even I don't go down there without a taser and a can of pepper spray.;)

The plan is to wait until those guys set up their tents, and then erect a 12 foot electric fence so they can't get out and roam around. Or maybe I'll just make them all wear one of those dog collars that shocks them if they bark too loud or travel past a certain point. If that doesn't work then I'll send Wayne Forest. Right now the plan is to just pour 9 holes on Moose this Saturday if the weather is good.

I will be baggin baskets to discourage anyone from playing on Moose.

Please come out if you can because the more people to help the faster it will go. Also need some people to watch a few baskets later in the day to keep people from personally autographing them.

We should have a definite yeh or nay on this project Wednesday when we find out the weather forecast.

Ok, this just in. The Southwest Tulsa Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a charity bean dinner at Chandlerstock Friday night in the new rec center for $5 all you can eat. It is open to the general public and all DG'ers are welcome.

Do yourself a favor and think about bean eaters and beer drinkers that may be camping near you and be sure to "load up" because it sounds like Friday night will be a gas, gas, gas. Pre-emptive strikes may be necessary and watch your butt around those campfires. One loose "toot" could take out a whole platoon.

We will also be taking pre-registration at the rec center from 4-8 also so come early and lock and load.:)

I think I will hook up some load speakers and a microphone in the big field on Friday night and offer up a $100 loudest and longest fart contest.

We will record them and have two divisions.

Highest decibel and longest "hang time".

Here are some people that I would imagine could be top contenders in either of those.

Patton
Either one of the Ramuz brothers
Leroy Finning
Hatton
Bud Johnson
Wayne Forest
Wayne Gregory
Anybody from Norman or OKC (probably has something to do with the long drive to get there)
Martin Norris
John and maybe Karla Barton
Hinds (everytime he opens his mouth.)
Mike Treat and Dave Wise could probably win by phoning theirs in from Emporia.
Lil'Moose (though she'd never admit it)
Dan Bougher's dog "Wayne".
Steve Neagele
Coberly and the Hindshaw clan.
Cris Hicks could probably produce a large sound pressure wave.

and probably a few others I can't think of off hand but that's just what I would consider a "pro" division.

"Sharting" would be an immediate disqualification so anybody from Arkansas need not enter.

Hinds if you want to get into CS you can judge the "most stinky" division. If you can live through that then I may consider you worthy and set you up with free entry and a free Crystal tournament stamped Buzz. Only twenty five of those available in the private stash.

Good news is I will be there.

Dude??? If it rains we will close the roof on "The Dome".:)

furdog, let me help you with a little math here.

a full keg holds 15.5 gallons of beer. four kegs hold 62 gallons of beer.

128 ounces per gallon. lets say everyone drinks a 12.8 oz beer (just a smidge more than your average can of beer) - you have 10 beers per gallon.

youre telling me that the tulsa disc golf crew wont drink 620 beers over the course of one weekend? the raz brothers drank 90 by themselves in two nights at duncan. i done seen it with mah own two eyes!

sschumacher
Apr 12 2010, 11:16 AM
Well I'm not sure. A couple of years ago I think Connors brought 3 kegs and I think him and Thong ended up drinking the third one all by themselves after the event. I'm not saying it can't be done if the "Raz Bros" are involved though. Knowing those guys, they will probably have a portable keg that they will drag from hole to hole.

If underage people want to drink they will anyway so there is no reason to take a chance and risk going to jail for supplying it directly or indirectly.

I'm sure the county sherrif is just waiting for something like that to happen so he can bust the whole celebration. Let's all just be cool and have fun without bringing in the flashing lights.

Well maybe you're just not smoking the good mushrooms like I am.:D

Five years ago there was an attemped rape just outside the gate. Connors was letting someone out the gate around 2am or so and just happened to scare the guy off. He had to call the sherrif and an ambulance to take the girl to the hospital. You feel like having to deal with that at 2am when you're already 3 sheets to the wind? And what would the general public think if that happened inside the gate and YOU were the victim. I'd probably get sued for mistreatment of old people.:rolleyes:

Probably why we never see Opie there anymore.;)

Right now nobody cares what happens to Wise or Hinds in the woods because I think everyone is used to it by now and nobody is going to tell.:)

Ok here's a recap for this weekends festivities.....

Friday: Pre-register from 4-8pm in the lobby of the new Chandler Rec Center. There will also be a $5 charity bean dinner hosted by Southwest Tulsa Chamber of Commerce from 4-7pm so load up for some late night fart wars.

General HQ for the rest of the weekend will be shelter # 2 like always. All three shelters on the top level are reserved for us to camp so come early Friday morning to get a good spot. Shelter 1 & 2 have fireplaces and though nobody normally camps at # 1, keep in mind that it is available. Also think about camping at shelter # 3 by hole # 1 on the short course. By camping there you will ensure that casual groups or picnic’s don’t take that over during the day time. There is AC there also. Bring some firewood if you got some.

Co-TD Wayne Forest will be running Friday (bring your partner) doubles with staggered tee times from 4:30-6pm.

Anyone that pre-registers Friday night will receive and extra dog treat with their players pack. This year’s player pack includes a Supercolor tournament stamp Buzz with artwork designed by Steve and Kathy Ward. I consider this one our best yet. Only 100 available to the first 100 Am’s to register so don’t wait until the last minute to grab a seat on the Mothership.

There will be a limited number of tournament tye-dye shirts for sale for $15. Show your Chandlerstock 25 bag tag and get a discount. This will probably be the last year we offer these shirts as our tye-dye lady is getting married and moving to Wichita. Also, I’ve got a few tournament stamped limited edition Colormax crystal buzzes for sale at $15 but you will have to mention it to me as I consider them to be private stock.

Other things…..

John “Gumby” Barton will be raffling a nice home made basket to benefit and raise money for tee pads at Bristow.

For those that have bought 2010 bag tags, Dough “The Muff” Duff will be running a lotto for the 1-10 gold tags he has been holding back so make sure you have tag in hand.

3 golden DGA mini baskets to be given away.

Great big rings of fire.

Live streaming webcam of Wise and Dorries from their hotel room at Emporia doing dirty deeds done with sheep.

Saturday night glow golf with “The Waynester” with all baskets lit up.

Fart contest.

Loose Mooses.

And as always, “Shinny Happy People” glowing in the dark.

Weather is looking hit and miss with possible rain so pack your rain gear just in case.

View the flyer here.

now that i have showered, removed all of the camp gear from my car, and hosed off two pair of shoes plus one pair of cleats plus one umbrella plus one bag of discs, i can relax and say that i had an awesome time this year, regardless of the weather. true, the continuous pitter-patter rain did kill some of the nightlife, but it was still chandlerstock. I mean, hell, how often do we see Naegele anymore? :)

Furdog, Lil-Moose, Wayne, Martin, Gumby, Carla, Evan, and anyone else that helped out that I'm forgetting -- helluva job. Thanks for doing what you do.

and to Dustin, the <13 junior player that teamed up with me to win wayne's saturday night flights with a -18, thanks for carrying me! I had a lot of fun playing with you buddy! (we actually shot -16, but wayne spotted him two strokes)

I showed up...but it was saturday to chill, drinks some beer, and eat some peanuts while storytelling with the elders. Also had to drop off a prize for the ring-o-fire and buy my special edition buzzz as well. I really enjoyed my hour or so on the mountain, lol.

Basketball team was in need of coaching so I decided Chandlerstock can wait till next year. At least it was dry in the gym where I was.

with all-the-work-and-preparation-and-effort that FurDog and Marie pour into this tournament for months , it was Great to enjoy such a Fun gathering of the masses despite having less-than-perfect Weather , it was still a perfect time for camping and carousing tents -and- bodies -and- vehicles -and- hammocks -and- tarps -and- campfires -and- grilles -and- smokers -and- U-Hauls - and- busses -and- vans -and- coolers -and- lean-tos -and- chairs -and- laughter EVERYWHERE scattered through Furdogs Mountain some of em (150 or so) even shouldered-up their golf-bags and played some Disc-Golf the combo of FurDog-n-Marie are naturally magnetic they draw-in so many fun-seekers and players and with their smiles, even More are willingly-ensnared to help run-things or donate-in (or both) Karla ; Gumby ; myself ; Duff ; Evan ; Amber ; Joyle ; Martin ; Geiger ; Logan ; Leemhuis ; Nail ; Regier ; Grilla Ray ; Naegele ; Click ; Snake Skinn ; Terrill ; and yes , even Hinds night-golf ; day-golf ; any-which-way-golf and as if that werent enough craziness : Billy Lund visited upon us a whole new buncha action he had a computer fulla Music and the Speakers to back-it-up there were festival lights rigged-up ; several kegs tapped-up ; multiple grilles and ovens cooked-up that Music wafted all through the Course : Im pretty-sure I saw a Basket dancing or maybe just a tee-sign doin a boogie Alien-Heads floating through the blackness and up and down the hills then some of the Lund Party Crew drew-up elimination-brackets , and started-up a beer-pong tourney Im not sure who won ; theyre probably still trying to scrape-them-off-the-shelter-ceiling ChandlerRock , indeed WOW

Well Wayne just about covered it. It was a great weekend despite the wet weather. It was nice to see 153 players come out for the festivities. It was a new record for the years Marie and I have been involved.

First of all, I want to give super thanks to the Tulsa County Parks Department, Pat Standingbear, Mike Acosta, and the rest of the Chandler crew for a fine job getting the courses cleaned up and mowed, and for letting us party there. Without their support none of this could have happened.

I personally want to thank Wayne Forest for giving up his weekend to co-td. The guy was all over the place, checking water jugs, adjusting tee flags for better footing, and covering my back at the players meeting and awards. The guy is the true definition of Cool.

Also I cant say enough about John and Karla Barton for letting us borrow their pop-up camper to do the scoring. They were amongst the first to come and the last to leave. Karla Barton was once again the master of the Scoreport and I just tried to stay out of her way. Thank you both very much for all you do. :)

Other contributers:

Dough Duff / Running CTPs, fart judge, and getting the crowd away from the shelter. Tell Teresa next year she will have to finish to be eligble to claim a golden mini basket at awards.;)
Evan McKee / Trophy Tags, score checking, and donated merch.
TDSA / $100 added cash to the Pro womens divisions.
Jake Regier of Charlestons / $80 in gift certificates
Gary Nail / $30 in QT cards
Amber Marchant / Donated merch and redefined the use of a U-haul as a personal camper.
Bryan Hinds / Donated merch.
Geiger, Logan, Leemhuis from The Line / Donated merch.
Brad Hoi / General support
Mike and Kim Click / General support
Joyle Deering / Brought out a basket for CTP and supported.
Martin Norris / score checker
Snakeskin / Applied the lights to the baskets for Saturday Night Flights.
Grilla Rays / Hotdog support

And last but not least, Billy Lund. The party he provided at shelter # 3 on Saturday night inspired a new love in my heart for this event. With the lights, the music, and the general good vibes from everyone I felt like this is what Chandlerstock really needed to plus the event. I want to give Billy and his buddy that cooked up the food some big high paws of appreciation and everyone that was there should do the same the next time you see him. I cant imagine how tired he must have been after playing 2 rounds on Saturday, dragging out a ton of DJ equipment Saturday night, partying till 2:30am, loading it up, and then getting up to play 2 more rounds on Sunday. Even though there wasnt a distance contest this weekend, Billy definitely went the distance on his own initiative and because of that Im going to go ahead and sponsor his Pro entry into the upcoming Haikey Creek Classic in June. :)

Other notes:
The Ace pot went off at $670 and was split by three guys. Emmitt Finch, Jay (Repeat offender) Slack, & Matthew Miller who hit his on a CTP hole.

A Flight CTP paid $65 cash per round
B Flight CTP paid $88 merch per round

Most fun awards to Caleb Acosta & Jamie Parton.

Champion Moose Hunter to Bud Johnson.

$655 raised in camping fees for the County Park Friends disc golf account.

Thanks to everyone that supported by buying a shirt or a Crystal Buzz.

Whomever the campers/players in white S-10 Chevy that got caught by the sheriff camping on Thursday night owes us camping fees for that night and owes their butts to Mr. Pat Standingbear for not having the sheriff take you to jail.

Out of 153 players 34 did not finish.

Nobody woke me up in the middle of the night to let them out of the gate. I heard there were a bunch of cars parked on the side of the road outside the gate though. I guess those people were parking there and then walking back in.:D

As far as I know nobody got Sharpied.

Bud Johnsons dog Bubba tried to hump everything in sight.

Not one person said that they missed Dave Wise.:p

No fights that I know of and no one got left tied to a tree in the woods.

One rick of wood burned at HQ by 1pm Sunday.

Anyone that knows Ryan Nance, please have him call me or show up at one of my minis next month. He left something at the course.

Thanks again to everyone that came out and supported Chandlerstock 2010 and look for a condensed Fall version "Chandler Rock'n Disc Golf Festival" as the we team up with the BoulderFest guys coming the weekend of October 23rd and 24th with camping Friday & Saturday.:)

Thanks again to Marie, Furdog, and everyone who helped make this free for all tourney happen! I think there were chants of Furdog, Furdog, Furdog when Wayne asked if he was going to run it again next year.
