John, can you post a message in pdga.com for me? Let people know that the courses in Cedar Hill suffered severe damages during the record snow fall. The city, at my request, has closed the park until further notice. No minis this weekend or next for sure. In the meantime I will be working there tonight and a group of volunteers have offered to help clear the park this Sunday at 10:00 am. Anyone wanting to help on Sunday is more than welcome to come out. We will get as much done as we can........ Thanks John. Say hello to your wife and my kids...... Later, Brian

Is Brian not current with the PDGA?

My membership is not current (and I did not think this would post). Hadnt needed to re-new just yet. Will be doing it soon.... In the meantime, the Cedar Hill courses are in trouble. I walked both courses tonight and a few holes on the Beaver are bad but the majority of the Coyote course is unplayable.

Please do not go and expect to play. the city has shut the park down until some work can be done. They cant get out until next week but a few of us will be there this Sunday to do what we can. If you can help, be at the gate by 10:00 because I am going to lock the gate behind us. They really dont want any casual players down there right now. Lots of big trees just looking for an excuse to fall on people......

Call me with questions.

Hey....you can post! Oh well. I said hi to your kids, and requested my wife to replace the bedside lamp that the two of you must have broken, but what happened to the chandelier? Did you really try to hang from it?

A huge thanks to Eric, Evan and Troy for giving up some of their free time on Sunday to help me in the park. Even though the park needs to remain closed, we made plenty of headway for a group of four people. Coyote holes 2 (plus the trail to 3), 3 and 5 are done plus some of 6. Hole 4 is trashed and no one should be walking in the fairway or by the basket. The overhead is littered with huge tree limbs just waiting for a reason to fall on someone. Once this is cleaned up the hole will be drastically different.

The city has pledged to send out its work crew at some point during the week to assist with the biggest stuff. OF course, if it snows again tomorrow as they predict, they may have more urgent priorities.

For anyone interested in helping to get the park open again, we will be back out there at 10:00 on Saturday.

As always, I can be reached at 972-998-1311.

Thanks again to Eric, Even and Troy for their help this weekend. They rock!

Sorry for the delay in posting this but I wanted to talk to the city first.

First, thanks to everyone that came out Saturday to help. I think there were 12+ at one point. I greatly appreciate you giving up your Saturday to help get the park open again. We made huge progress and did everything we could except go ahead and re-design Coyote hole 4. That will be happening soon enough.

Second, the city should be out at the park to day to clear the widow makers on holes 4 and 5 of the Coyote. Once those are closed, we can open the park!

After the city completes whatever clearing they need to on hole 4 I will go back down and work on a new pin placement. Hopefully, the work on it can be done in the next week or two. It’s going to play a bit differently going forward.

Again, thanks to everyone that helped in the last two weeks. It will not be forgotten.

Regards,

Brian Lamoreaux

Great news. The park is opening today at 1:00.

I haven’t seen it yet but I really want to thank the volunteers and the city for all of their hard work! Thank you!

Now I get to go down and see what needs to happen to hole 4 Coyote…… At least its open…..

Looking to play these courses this weekend.
Are they playable? Are the fairways mowed?

I heard a rumor that another 18-hole course was installed at Cedar Hill?

That is not the case. Still the same 36 hole layout, with multiple pin locations.
Happy Holidays!!!!

No new course there, maybe your thinking of the grand prarie course? Cedar hill has two courses on the same property.
