Ive been tossing an idea around in my head for a bit now. Ive played in alot of doubles tournys in my 15+ years of DG. What Ive noticed is that people like playing best shot more than most other formats. I understand this may not be true for all.
My plan is to (at some time this year) run a doubles tournament. This tourny will be unsanctioned and all payout will be cash(im not trying to make any $ )I may take $1-2 out per person to cover expenses(im not trying to lose $)

This tourny could be 1 or 2 days and 2,3,or 4 rounds

I would like to run this tourny as a (best shot/prove the putt) all rounds
yes both partners would have to make the same putt to finish each hole

Entry fee is not decided

So what i need from you is your opinions on
How many days?
How many rounds?
Entry fee thoughts?
Format thoughts and concerns?

How about a 2 day dubs tournament where everyone enters individually into the division they want to play in. Then your partner for the 1st round is drawn at random out of the same division. Both partners record the score for the first round.

Then on the second round, a new partner is drawn and so on for the next rounds.

At the end the individual divisional winners would be determined by the individual that had the lowest combined score after 4 rounds.

Problem is that you would need even number of players in your divisions or someone would have to play Cali.

You could name it the "Disc Golf is like a Box of Chocolates" tournament. :D

>love the prove the putt idea<

i think it would be a fun tournament. 2 days 4 rounds. entry for open, somewhere between 100-200 per team

So, if my partner hits an 80ft. putt We have to stay there until the other person makes the same putt ? Or is there like a cap of 10 on a hole in that situation :)

you stay on the hole til you both hole out. so if you miss the 80'er you both would be shooting from your shot. Same rule applys to a ace..
Someone correct me if I am wrong..

If only one of you make the 80fter then your playing from the missed putt

Cross your fingers for me today. Go back to the doctor to do a range of motion test. If he likes what he see's I think i can get back out on the course in regular rotation. I am so nervous. :/
