... had some of that craziness in 04 or 05 at a Haikey "special" Mini ... running-plays (had to throw a roller from tee) ... punts (had to 'punt' your drive) ... kick-offs (some of the holders got kicked by their own partners) ... etc. ... really-nutty ; but really fun ! ... I'm not sure if that goofiness is what Brad has planned ...

> Brad HOI will probably have "schemed up" some nuttiness for ya > there are boocoo possibilities > the copy below was some of my devious-ness :
--------------------------------------------------
… here’s what goofy-fun I put on a crowd of Players at a Haikey Creek “Football Special” Mini some years ago … some ideas you may wanna duplicate , some maybe not … they were definitely a “different way to play’ … played eighteen holes with normal stroke-scoring, but had the following deviations involved at different holes …
.
I told them all that I was featuring many “football themes and phrases”
REVERSES : we played the whole Course backwards ; I had marked special tee-areas with flags
FLAGS : used them on the tees and some-other-areas
TEAMWORK : I had them random-draw and play best-shot Doubles
QUARTERBACKS : everybody’s scorecards were in baggies and each player had a quarter ( .25 from their entry ) in there for them
RUNNING PLAYS : at a few specific holes , the tee-drives had to be Rollers
SCRAMBLE : they were playing best-shot scramble format Doubles
INSTANT REPLAY : each Player had a couple mullies
PASSING PLAYS : on one hole , one partner stood down the fairway anywhere they wanted ; as far or short as they wanted …
Player at the tee had to toss his Disc down-the-fairway to his partner who HAD to catch it in flight …
that receiver was allowed only 2-steps after-the-catch and 10-seconds to re-throw same-disc toward the Basket … by the way , if the receiver didn’t make the catch , it was a FUMBLE (1-stroke penalty) … he still had to pick it up and throw toward basket …
… after both of those throws ; they were best-shot scramble again
PUNTS : on one specific hole (a shorter one) , the tee-shots had to be “punted” by all players … each partner had to drop-it and kick-it … they could pick the best lie …
KICKOFFS : much like the above (shorter hole plays better) … each partner had to kick their Disc for the tee-shots … the other partner had to be their “holder” standing the disc up on the ground with their finger (just like football field goals) … some guys accidentally got kicked by their partner … this one and the PUNTS were really funny …
HAND-OFF: on one hole, both partners had to trade Golf-Bags with their partner at the tee ; and then complete the hole with that gear
HIKES : on one hole , the player faced-away from the basket , and ‘hiked’ the Golf-Disc down the fairway for the drive
GAME PLAN … at all of those temp-tees that I had set-up in advance , each one had a little sign showing what had to be done on that hole (roller-drive , punt , hand-off , etc.) …
… and we even had the possibility of OVERTIME , in case their was a tie at the end of the round …
.

a math error early is the cause of this confusion .
it has been cleared up.
the winning team had only 5 of the registered pros on it.
my mistake early was assuming that a greater number of pros were on the winning team.
when the event was over the two teams were only 3 strokes apart, and withe the extra point for ctp the spred was 4 strokes.
50 % of the feild collected a pay out.
more results to follow.
thanks to all who tempted the schedule and made the kick off on time.

You are correct. But you would also be correct if you further clarified that statement to include that they did question me about the money that would be raised from it, even though they wouldn't be affiliated with it, if I ran it. also I was asked, that if there is money to be made, why wouldn't they just do it themselves?
Do you agree with that statement?
Sorry, I have just lost intrest in it. If the club would like those dates, you need to contact the SC. He has already removed those dates for me.
No hard feelings, I just don't want to deal with it. The only thing the club loses on this deal, is the $500 that was to be donated.
I'm just going to run my one Am event and be a player the rest of the year. Sounds like a lot more fun.

Well now that you're officially quitting on this you owe for artwork services rendered so far...
This is not like the insurance policy's you cancel due to pre-existing conditions. In this case you're the one with the pre-existing condition of "no back bone". You're disgruntled that the club didn't get involved and so am I but you had a sweet deal planned with both a BT tourney and a consolation NIT type of side event and if the club would have decided to number their tags then you wouldn't have had to deal with separate tags competing with TDSA tags.
It doesn't really matter though because your tags (with a real tournament attached and the respect that people have for you) would have sold better and benifitted more people who are looking for more than just a nice membership package.
I was with you all the way to help and promote and I only disagreed with you on a few idea's but I never told you not to run it the way you wanted.
Now you want to go PMS and run back to your little beaver hut to pout and blame everyone for the fact that now you want to bailout due to lack of support or that anything you might not get to actually play in is just not worth the effort.
As the newpaper boy said in the movie....."I WANT MY TWO DOLLARS!!!".
I'd settle for a free entry at your event in May but more than likely you're going to run out on that one too!!!

:D my club back in washington is absurdly successful money wise with very few hardcore golfers, we did so by dropping our membership really low, $15, making it required to participate in events, and giving out bag tags so people had something to do when minis werent going on. Alot of people prolly dont think its a good idea to require it, but we made it easy for people by just making you put $5 on it per event till it was paid, so for a mini an am only has to pay $12 at full for a few minis and then its 7 and they are a member. Even dropping it to $10 would still grossly increase club funds, and make numbers look better :D i count 116 active members paid through 09, of which 83 are life time members, which leaves 33 that will prolly pay again next year, a few of which already have, so $660, now my membership number was 440, which looks close to the number listed on the site, take the life timers from that and you got 357 people, if even half of that plays 2-3 minis a year still, at a $10 membership your turning $1780, now how many people play minis throughout the year that have never even been members.. few 100 more? :P now when you add that to PDGA renewal benefits of TDSA, your in effect paying $5 for your membership to the club :D so now you get to market $5 club memberships, and make a bank roll, and not have to hear people say "they are going to hold out till they find something worth paying their dues for" well, your paying your membership so u can play with members :)

Your tags sold under the premise of a new course being installed. Since that has come and gone whats going to be the reason this time?

And you should learn to wear short sleeve shirts and get there early so Connors doesn't beat you out.
Is there not a new eighteen baskets out there? Was your course not considered a course when the OO was playing on dirt pads?
There is no "ruse" this year because I'm not selling tags this year because last years tags are still good for extra goodies and perks. Kind of like a "Forever Tag" or at least until the day I die. Whichever comes first.
I don't care about my reputation and I thought you didn't care about yours until you get your feelings hurt. You give yourself WAY more credit than you deserve just by thinking that you have influence over any of my decisions. The only time you influence my decision is if I decide to answer your phone call or not.
We will have trash cans and some benches but it will take time with the citie's economy the way it is right now. Trash cans will come first then benches. If they didn't require certain type of bench, then it would be a lot easier.
By the way, hows that concrete coming? Going to have it by Chandler Stock? If so, are they only doing 16 holes this time also?
By the way, don't you have a meeting tonight?

It's hard to tell man with all the people wanting book events there.:D
I know you're trying to get me to commit but based on the lack of commitment you've shown today I'm just going to follow your example.:)
And no I'm not going to the meeting. Why don't you show up in my place.:D
