I couldn't stand waiting any more for someone to start this thread. Time to start getting fired up for the Virginia Team Invitational again! It's only 48 days away

I won't even try to hide that I'll root for the VA teams. Give us some more details, please, Biscoe!

Team Blue Ridge is getting all hopped up on Red Bull for the VTI. Woooooo! We'll bring the foamy beverages, Biscoe's bringing the cow trophies, Hysell is bringing the ghost of Jim Neighbors, UNIttY is bringing some bush, Erik is bringing the bovine lubricant, and Charlotte's bringing the milk jug............ and they better shine it up!!! 'cause I'm leaving room in the back of my truck to take it home!!!

Wooohoooooooooooo!!! I love this tournament! We get our arse whipped every year, but we love it. Thank you for providing the arena for our whipping, Biscoe! We enjoy every single lash of our flogging, sir.

about a foot left when i walked it sunday to check the damage. getting some good melting today.

cedar on right of gap on hole 4 snapped off so that one will be a little easier.
some broken branches to remove around basket of A.
more broken branches around basket 14.
lots of broken cedars in the narrow alley for hole G.

other than that general sloppiness is the only real concern and there's still lots of time for that to alleviate itself- hole 3 is likely to be a bit of a muddy mess.

rules are the same they have always been for this year at least. teams have always been able to play pretty loose with the definition of local- many of them cover broad geographic regions- original intention was to make it easy on captains to field a team and i haven't made anthing any tighter since the second year. i am considering some changes for next year but they are still up in the air. i kind of like having the top dogs roll in truthfully.

i'd like to come up with a better way to manage the waiting list for one thing- maybe some regional play-ins.

guess i need to send the pdga some $ before i get kicked off of here.

I didnt get to see the non-edited posts Biscoe. I imagine they said something along the lines of, "I hope Sjur slips in a cow pattie on hole 2's green and slides all the way down the hill, dragging his face through yet more cow-patties, and ends up in the river, next to a carcass of a deer...."

-and-
The second post reading, "I also hope he throws a hyzer on hole 1 and Cahill takes it MTL style to the cranium, albeit smaller than MTL's cranium, and Jeff falls into the river, where he will stay, until Sjur falls down the hill(on hole 2) and ends up landing on Jeff's unconcious body..."

I'm glad my "legend" in the sport is a shot to the head at the VTI on hole 1. I still have the scar......

No SPOTSY is not skeered. I'll admit we have fielded some of the weakest teams in years past. If you were to look at our ratings compared to the other teams in this tournament - in comparison - there is none, however, do not underestimate us this year, there will be some weeping and gnashing of teeth.

After returning home, I find myself longing for a cattle ranch way out in the boonies to design a course on. Hawk Hollow is such a fun course. So many different kinds of shots needed to score well. So much beautiful property to enjoy.

I couldn't let this thread die. HUGE thanks to Biscoe again for running the best tournament in the world! I just don't know if enough people could thank him for overseeing all that goes into the that wonderful tournament. Thanks to everyone that helped out with the course and all the other amenities.

Congrats to all the wieners too including NOVA and Shreds who represented VA well. Team Shreds, who look very similar to a team Blue Ridge beat in the elimination match three years ago, somehow reincarnated themselves to make a run into the playoffs. Not to mention our lady, Wendy, tying Kelly Boyce, which helped send Shreds to the playoffs over the Home team. Maybe team Blue Ridge needs some kind of reincarnation or metamorphosis of some sort. We were only a point and a half from the playoffs.

Three cheers for Biscoe! Thanks, buddy!
