Battle of Blackland Prairie

Sunday Feb. 21st at East Metro Park (Manor)

This will be a one day Sunday tourney. Two rounds starting at 9am. There will be $500 added cash for payouts split between the divisions. This will be a good warm up and a chance to put some extra money in your pockets before pro dubs. You can sign up at www.titledisc.com This tourney is being brought to you by 4thechains disc golf. Kevin puts on a great event. Rivery was a great turn out, but we are looking to have a little more competition on the pro side. Please pre-register at title disc because we will be on a tight schedule Sunday morning.

The sponsors are rolling in. We are proud to announce that Chris from Gorilla Boy Disc Golf has helped us with one of his new Evolution Series Kong bags to be raffled off at the tournament. All proceeds from the raffle will go to support the TWC (Texas Women's Championships) Kevin has promised to help fill it up with some free disc for the winner as well. So come out and support the TWC and win a great new bag.

Don't forget about the $500 added cash. $250 for pros and $250 for ams. The bigger your division the bigger the cut. This is a great chance for you to warm up for the Texas State Pro Dubs and put some extra cash in your pocket!!! Hope to see you there. Make sure you sign up at www.titledisc.com because we are going to be pressed for time on Sunday morning.

Great news!!! We have even more added cash for the tourney thanks to our newest sponsor Wanna Play Disc Golf. Go meet Shawn over at the shack. It is a new disc golf store in Round Rock, pretty close to Cat Hollow. Here is the web address for their webpage http://www.wannaplaydiscgolf.com/ We are up to $650 added cash, plus plenty of awesome freebies. We will have a CTP contest after the 2nd round and if we have time we will have another ring of fire for some great prizes. Don't forget to sign up before the tourney because we are going to be limited to 72 players. We will also be limited on time before the start of the first round. This event is going to fill up so dont wait. Dont forget to check out the Evolution Series Kong Bag from Gorilla Boy Disc Golf that we will be raffling off to raise money for the TWC. Check out the bag here. http://www.gorilla-boy.com/kong.shtml

Crunch time is coming. We are a little over half full with the people already signed up, the entries that are on Titledisc, and the verbal commitments that we have. Don't wait till the last minute if you want to play this event. We will be reserving some spots for the pros on Sunday so we will probably have to limit the number of rec and inter players that we can sign up. We will be offering lunch on Sunday, so if you don't want to leave after the first round you can have lunch brought to you. We will collect $5.00 at check in if you want to get lunch and we will make a run to Subway. It will be waiting on you when you get done with round #1. This event is going to be a blast. It looks like the weather is going to cooperate with us as well.

Why are spots being reserved for pros? Seems they can sign up on time just like everyone else. Am's are not welcome? That is the message I am getting.

Nice to see a dry week ahead as the course had become almost unplayably wet.

Josh, reserving pro spots doesn't mean "ams aren't welcome," but you are right that pros can sign up on time just like everyone else.

Am's are welcome. They will make up the majority of the field. We just have to save a couple of spots for the pros. We will probably save 5 spots for sunday morning, if it fills up before then. Just sign up and then you don't have to worry about it. The prize money is split right down the middle between pros and ams. If we did not care about the ams we would give all of the money to the pros. This event is going to be fun Josh, don't pass it up because of some misunderstanding. There is alot of extra money for this event, and we are going to have a nice raffle to raise money for the TWC. Hope to see you there.

Will do Chris. Glad to see ya signed up. We are going to just play the marked OB on the signs and the water that is out there. We are not going to mark OB in the creekbeds, or have the two meter rule in effect. We will announce all of that at the players meeting on Sunday morning. See ya there.

I signed up my daughter Nicole (SuperGirl) for this tournament via Titledisc. I signed her up for rec men, and she is listed in the rec men's division on Titledisc. The PDGA players list has her listed in the rec women's division. Please move her name to the rec men's division on the PDGA players list.

She is looking forward to Sunday since this will be her first tournament since last summer.

Thanks...........Rick

Diz you need to call Kevin @ (325) 423-4295 so he can put you and mccrimmon on the list. There are less than 10 spots left. I dont think there are any adv masters or grandmasters signed up. Make sure you call him or sign up @ www.titledisc.com before tomorrow night.

Team TitleDISC will be there too :)

Anyone ever stayed in the Quality Inn and Suites in Manor? Seems kinda pricey for a hotel in such a small town... wondering if we should stay in Austin instead. Thanks!

Find a hotel around the 290 and IH35. Still close enogh to manor (maybe 30 min from course, the hotels in Manor are still 15-20mins from course.
I got a spare room if you don't mind a 50min drive.

I was just checking on the weather. The rain is probably going to start in the late afternoon. It is only predicted to rain between 1/10 to 3/10ths of an inch. The ground should be all dried out by now, so even if it does rain, I don't think it will really bother us too much. See ya guys out there on Sunday!

Vinnie, do you have room for me and JD? If so, we might just take you up on that :). It's not a big deal to get a room though. Would rather find a cheap room in austin than share a bed with JD at your place ;)

I am not feeling well this morning. Therefore Nicole will not be able to play in today's tournament. Please keep her entry fee and consider it a donation to the tournament. Good luck and have a great time today.

I dont think the player ratings are accurate for int since they played different tee boxes.
