We don't have set number of spots per division. Instead, there are 32 spots in each flight and the flight is full when all spots are gone. I hope y'all can get it worked out and join us at the Snow Farm. :D

I spoke with Gordo today and he is updating the reg. list and will be sending it to me. Once I get it, I'll have to reformat it a bit and if nothing else, I'll upload it as a table in a post.

Here is one juicy tid-bit though: There are NO advanced masters teams registered yet! What??? Wassup with that? It used to be the largest division out there! The Grandmaster division is growing though...

Feb 25 2010, 03:14 PM
okay, there is now 1 adv.mstr team (and one other that I know plans to play but hasn't signed up yet).

Flight B is very close to full, but I'm working on a way to open up some more spots.

A good advanced field so far with 14 teams.

Go to www.discnation.com to register soon (once on the front page of disc nation, choose the tournaments & events button and that will bring up the full list of tournaments and other registrations available)

gordonmk
Feb 25 2010, 10:07 PM
We are changing the Advanced Grandmaster division from Flight B to Flight A.

If you are planning to sign up for this division, please note this big change.
The biggest effects are that: 1) at least one team member will need to arrive at the ranch on Friday between 1 pm and 11 pm to check in; 2) an early start on Saturday morning (player's meeting at 7 am); and 3) a late start on Sunday morning (considered a good thing by many :D ).

From the tournament flyer for Flight A:

FOR FLIGHT A ONLY: AT LEAST ONE TEAMMATE MUST CHECK-IN ON FRIDAY MARCH 5TH BETWEEN 1:00 PM AND 11:00 PM (or register - if space still available). This person must pay all the teams fees that are still due: ace pot, non-PDGA fees, etc. NO REGISTRATION OR CHECK-IN FOR FLIGHT A ON SATURDAY MARCH 6TH. Any pre-registered team not checked in by 11:00 pm on Friday will be dropped and replaced by a team on the waitlist.

FLIGHT A: Saturday: No Check-In Available; Player's meeting at 7:00 am. Round #1 Best Shot, tee time 7:30am; Round #2 Alternate Shot. Sunday: Round #3 Best Score (TBA, but probably around 11 am), Round #4 Worst Shot 10-12, Best shot 13-15, Best Score 16-18.

So...which flight are the Senior Grandmasters going to be in next year? Yes...I'm getting to that age!

gordonmk
Feb 26 2010, 07:19 PM
Flight B has now filled up (the divisions are: Adv. Women, All Intermediate, All Rec, Mixed Doubles).

If you haven't already mailed your entry, then don't send it now.

If you just recently mailed it or registered on the disc nation site in the last couple of days, then you are probably in, but not guaranteed. I'll send you confirmation that you are in as soon as I'm sure of who made it in time. Sorry for the "iffyness" but that is one of the complications of taking entries both online and by mail. Sometimes it is hard to tell exactly when the thing truly fills up.

If you would like to be on the waitlist, just call me or email me; 512-858-1615, [email protected]

There are still some spots open in Flight A (advanced, adv.master, and adv.grandmaster).

If you want to sign up for one of those divisions just to make sure to be able to play, but you'd much rather play one of the divisions in flight B, then sign up and call/email me to let me know and I'll add you to the flight B waitlist. If we get any cancellations from Flight B, I'll move you on over.

As an example: a team wants to play Intermediate but can't because flight B is full. So they sign up for Advanced instead and email me that they also want to be on the waitlist for Intermediate.

then:
a) if by 11 pm Friday night we have some cancellations in Flight B and can get them into intermediate, then we make the switch.
b) If we dont have enough cancellations by 11 pm Friday to switch them over, then they stay in advanced and play there.

If a team doesn't want to play in flight A at all and just wants to be on the waitlist for flight B, then a call or email is all it takes. After that, the key is whether or not we get any cancellations or no-shows by 8:30 am Saturday morning.

When you get on the waitlist, please give me cell phone numbers so I can call you if needed in the days before the tournament or on friday or saturday.

Both flights of TX State Am Doubles are now full. We have a waitlist going for both flights, just post here or send me an email at [email protected] or call 512-858-1615 and leave a message (I'll be out of town all morning/afternoon but will get it tonight when I get back home).

Just let me know your name, preferred division, and best phone number to reach you (preferably cell).

If you want to play in flight B, but would also be willing to play in flight A if that is the only place with a spot, let me know that too and I'll put you on the waitlist for both flights.

If you signed up on monday or tuesday, then I'll send you a confirmation email tomorrow morning thurs. morning) once I see if anything arrives in today's mail (the last day for mailed entries to arrive).

Thanks,

Oh, I've sent updated info to Larry, but I don't know that it can go on the pdga site easily (they just aren't really set up for doubles), and I don't know if he'll have a chance to post it here.

But for short summary:

25 advanced
7 adv. grandmaster

9 int
1 int women
14 rec
1 rec women
7 mixed

World Bagger's cometh

Hey all, we're gonna try to get up a little poker game on Saturday night. We'll do it as .25/.50 cash game of no limit Texas Hold'em. Randon is gonna let us set up a table in the barn, his only request being that we don't smoke in there - he's a little on the careful side about building/structure fires...so I promised him I'd make sure that everyone goes outside to smoke. The barn will let us stretch out a little bit and there'll be plenty of room for spectators... There is also a fridge out there that Randon says we can keep some brews cold in...

Let Gordon or me know if you want a seat on Saturday night...

I'm finally off to the ranch (running late as usual :o). My phone doesn't work out there and there is no email/web access at HQ, so please don't try to call or email me. Your best way to get hold of someone out there is to call Randon's cell phone, 979-451-2069. You can also call his house out there, but I don't know how often he will be going and checking that answering machine, 979-278-3536.

Woohoo, another fun a\Am Doubles tournament at the Snow Farm! :D

Well????? :)

Well what?

All went pretty smoothly all weekend long. Everyone seemed to have a blast. We had a pretty busy poker game on Saturday night - although I wasn't on the "winning" side of the game.

I'm a little concerned because Randon announced that he is seeking someone else to run TSAD next year and Gordo is also interested in retiring. I certainly wouldn't mind handling registrations and check-ins, but I really don't want to wear the TD hat.

I'm trying to figure out what Randon is wanting to "retire" from...

I'll see about getting some fudged up results on the Results page tonight.

All you need to know Alex is that the Northside gang did very well this weekend. Scott and Seth dropped the proverbial "hammer" on the rest of the Advanced field.

Folks,

I've got some results fudged into the PDGA scoring system with ratings. The ratings look pretty low to me...especially for the first round which was best shot.

But find them here: http://www.pdga.com/tournament-results?TournID=10092&year=2010&include_ratings=1#Advanced

I dont think ratings count in doubles events.
