hello all, I was setting up my ical and noticed on the icebowlhq.com site schenly is scheduled for the 23rd of jan, which we have the deer lakes mixer that day. and schenly is not even on the pfds schedule. and according to the ice bowl site fairmont is feb 20th not the 27th as stated on our pfds calender, I'm not sure if jerry or who does the calender but it should be corrected asap. so we are able to make plans Id hate to drive to fairmont and not even be the right day. lol
aight thats my 2 cent... happy days see u at moraine this weekend!!!

You are correct about Fairmont's Ice Bowl...It's on the 20th!!! That should be corrected on PFDS.org.

I wasn't even aware of Schenley's Ice Bowl. I'm not sure if that's the correct date or not. I know Dave K. ran it last year and hopefully again this year. I guess we'll find out this weekend at Moraine.

Why don't you guys back off of the communications director before we lose another one in the same term!

LOL Just kidding

FYI La Vie En Rose is in February, not March.

What??? We're talking about the Ice Bowl not La Vie En Rose???

Nevermind...I just checked PFDS calendar...Now I know what you're talking about...

The Ice Bowl is on for January 23rd, there will be a mass email sent out shortly and I will post more details on an Ice Bowl thread. I needed to make sure things were clear on this end before making an official announcement. Sorry for any confusion.

I was confused when I learned of this Fairmont Ice Bowl date discrepancy. Josh Smith (WVDGA) had contacted me back in Nov or Dec and asked me to add their Ice Bowl date to the PFDS Event Calendar. At first, I thought I must have posted the event on the wrong date by mistake. Today I confirmed with Josh that they changed the date from the 27th to the 20th......and forgot to inform us.

So there! :)

There is an Ice Bowl down here in Clearwater at the end of the month if anyone wants to play. Should be about 60 -70 degrees. :P

so the shenley ice bowl is on the 23, thats awesome, BUT are we canceling the deer lakes mixer or moving it to another date? having both on the same day would surly split the clubs attendance and hurt the ice bowls charity effort. keep me posted :)

I would assume we will move the Deer Lakes Monthly. Dave Kuhrt contacted me earlier this week asking for Scotty Mac's phone number.....haven't heard anything since. I'm still waiting to receive information about the Pittsburgh Ice Bowl.

Since we're doing the monthly shuffle, I moved the February Moraine Monthly from the 13th to the 14th due to the Beatty Park Ice Bowl in Steubenville, OH.....or as the locals refer to it, "The Chill in the 'Ville".

I think it's good that we rearrange our monthly dates as to not conflict with other local events, especially charitable events like the Ice Bowl(s). As more disc golf courses, clubs & leagues come into the scene, we'll eventually get to a point where it will be inevitable to avoid conflicting schedules. That's a good problem when you think about it. :)

I agree jerry, there are alot of folks out there less fortunate the we are, that depend on the charitable contributions of our various clubs, keep up the good work!!!

This week I contacted the Steubenville club and inquired about how much snow they have on the ground. This is the reply I received from Bill:

"We have about 14 inches of snow at the park but that hasn't been the biggest problem... We had at least 20 trees and branches that have fallen on the course, road and parking areas... I have been at the park every day since the storm cutting wood...we have finally gotten it cleared up so the ice bowl this sat will still be played.. No wimps no whiners right?"
